The figure bent down and scooped up the sand in his hands, he let the find particles fall between his fingers and scatter on the winds. They said funny things about the sand in Hueco Mundo that a thousand, thousand Hollow died to create the sands. That their shattered bones was what made the sand and that was why it was so white. Yes, they said terrible things about the sands of Hueco Mundo. Playing with the sand for a bit longer he sifted it idly, his naked form a stark contrast in the midst of the desert.
A rustle of movement out of the corner of his eye, that black shimmering orb that was his heart seemed to be wanting something. He raised an eyebrow as its glowing eyes seemed to point out that he was indeed naked. Had he not conjured clothes? He could swear he had been wearing clothes whilst exiting the Dangai, or perhaps he hadn’t been? Perhaps he’d been all caught up in his sister’s plea for them to get away.
He stretched out a hand towards the orb and touched it, a spark leapt from orb to fingertip as he felt the world around him grow darker for an instant. The Traveller reached out with his presence and called the shadows to him, they wrapped around his body and formed a shadowy robe. It’d have to do rather than walking around these sands naked.
“Come on then you, to me” he directed at the spirit orb, which happily leapt to his lapel and tucked itself underneath the shadowy folds of his clothing. Ah, at least contact with the orb allowed him to use his powers more fluidly rather than be limited by not having it close to him. Where to though? He recalled a sister had ran with him to the sands but he couldn’t sense her and that was a mild inconvenience.
“Hello?” the Traveller called, hoping to garner the attention of his sister wherever she was. Ah he hated that term. He decided he’d just have to stick with it. The Naiad let the shadows lick his flesh and the orb dance across his neckline. So far there had been no response and that was most unfortunate.
Oh? The sands were rustling, what was this? From the sand a large white snake uncoiled. It seemed that the Traveller had been standing on her. Fascinating. He waved his hand at the beast as it snarled and stared him down.
“Hullo! Aren’t you beautiful? Now you wouldn’t happen to have seen my sister around here now would you?” the beast didn’t give him a response, it seemed to be sizing him up and deciding if it wasn’t to chow down on his soft tender flesh. More a pity than anything else. As the serpent suddenly struck cleaving the distance between them the Traveller could later be seen walking away from the encounter.
“A pity”
Apparently the snake hadn’t wanted to be allies. Now the only question was where? Well perhaps the castle far in the distance would be a good place to start. Perhaps he’d find his sister along the way? A slight rustle under his lapel revealed to him that the Cor thought she was a lot closer than the Traveller could sense.
Note to self, learn how to sense things. The Traveller cocked his head to the side, which could explain how he hadn’t noticed the snake until it had woken up. This could be a flaw if he didn’t correct it.
“What do you think little guy?” he murmured absentmindedly tickling the bottom of the ghostly orbs chin. Aura sensing or whatever it was he was trying to do would be a handy trick to have. Come to think of it, what did he know? How to run? How to skip? How to fight? All those things were natural. His new body came with them in mind.
Huh. This body thing, was harder than he’d dreamed of within the dangai. He missed the Grey Dream. Everything made sense there, there was a nice contrast of Shinigami hate and denying the fate that had befallen the javaids.
Spinning on one leg and tucking it up onto his knee he stared at the white fortress on the horizon.
“I really am out of place aren’t I?”
