In the remains of Las Nochas, after the obliteration of Erasmus, lies a laboratory freshly rebuilt by a busy arrancar, in this arrancar's lab is a caged section, in this section is a petite figure in a torn Shihakushō with long Silky back hair let down. This figure is the remains of what is Chie Kira. The entire left arm of her Shihakushō was ripped off, turned into scraps she used as bandages for cuts along her arm and legs. On her back was the empty sheath where her zanpakuto once rested. Her arm tattered with bandaged cuts, scratches, bruises. Her skin was a shade more pale bordering on unhealthy even for her.
She was hunched over working on the finishing touches on a device that had a large needle on one side and two small tanks on the other. After wiping the sweat off her face she stopped for a moment to take a breath, her arms barely supported her as she moved to another side across the room to a stool, she sat down, leaning against the wall. The light from the moon of Hueco Mundo streamed in streaks from the high window to the side, casting rays that illuminated parts of her face and not covered by her hair, which at this point concealed more than halve her face, leaving her left eye exposed to a dull appearance. Looking at it would remind people of smoking embers of a dying fire as it was red with sleep deprivation.
Her body was deprived of energy, motivation, and weakened by the slow blood loss from the cuts that happened due to accidents in the lab. After getting somewhat comfertable she let out a deep breath as her eye looked towards the window, seeing a portion of the moon. "I feel nothing but emptiness basking in the moonlight of this world. I find it weird that in the world of the living or the soul society I feel amazed and comforted, but this sky only reminds me of despair and pain. This endless pain, is this what I deserve? Is this my punishment? All I know is this, I have nothing. I am powerless in a realm of creatures beyond my level, I'm pathetic."
Slowly, Chie rose, she walked slowly, only focusing on her work. She had lost track of time due to sleep deprivation, she wasn't aware if it was hours, days, or weeks since she was taken to Hueco Mundo. In the middle of her area, she stopped and out of habit she looked over her left shoulder to speak to her zanpakuto while speaking in a low energy and depressed tone "What do you think?". After recalling that her blade was not there, she gave it a momentary pause to stare, at the deepest part of her heart praying that her blade would somehow return to her side. Afterwords she walked to the device she was building, she just stared at it. In the emptiness of the room, all she heard was the frail beating of her own heart, however the silence soon broke by the sound of thrashing. In a side room in a container, rested a bunch of hollows, Chie was obligated by her captor to make a gigai. She heard the thrashing of the hollows increase as she touched the odd device, her breathing became rapid as her thoughts tormented her inside out.
"Damn it! Damn it to hell if I am not already there! Why am I here, what is my sin! Am I supposed to wait and die? What is wrong with me, letting an arrancar order me, at the mercy of hollows. Am I without strength, is this my limit. Am I without courage. Is this my condemnation, to use my skills to support an enemy I once faced in battle. What do I have left? My freedom? not really, my pride, not a shot. My blade is in the soul society, and I can't even contact them, my denreishinki is busted. Do I even have anything in the Soul Society besides Asatsuyu? Is this my end, as pathetic as my beginning, mother, please forgive me. "
However as her trail of thoughts ended abruptly as she thought back to her mother. Most of the soul society's population consisted of souls of those who died in the world of the living, Chie was in the minority of pure souls. Instead of surrogate parents, Chie had real parents, since joining the academy, this was the first instance Chie thought of her parents. A tear emerged from her eye, rolling down her cheek slowly and eventually dripped onto the floor. The sounds of the wind, the hollows, and her heartbeat all faded from Chie's senses for a moment, all she heard was the feint sound of her tear drop hitting the floor. In that moment Chie felt something inside her snap, as if a stream of thoughts rushed through her head far too fast to interpret.
"What is this exhilaration? Is it a new idea', no, it is not a thought, its a feeling, a concept. Hope, no, nothing so strong, is it ambition? Nothing so devoted, it's a feeling of base desire, love. I want to feel my mothers love again, I want to go back to the soul society and see my parents. But this world like all worlds is merciless, to survive I must rely on myself most of all. Proof of that is that no one cared enough to follow me hear, I'm alone, all alone."
Eventually Chie returned to her senses as she began to hear the hollows thrashing again. Her view of the device changed from an object she was forced to complete to a weapon against her captor. She walked towards the machine and took a nearby pick like tool and used it to sort and align a series of wires and pipes inside the device, and when the needle turned from white to crimson she smirked. "If he wants a body, I'll give him a body."
Chie looked to the side of her area and saw two doors spaced roughly two and a half meters apart from each other, she walked across the left door which took her to a prearranged bed room. A simple white room with several beds made of oak wood with tables beside them. Chie fell onto one as her eyes closed and fell into a deep slumber rather quickly.
In her dreams, she dreamed of a burnt field, where everything beneath her feet was charred. She looked foreward to see a burning tree, which made it clear that this was her inner world burned to nothing. Chie ran forward towards the fire and she saw a figure, a tall feminine figure and at the bottom she saw a familiar pattern, but unable to see the color, Chie held her hand out towards the figure as she said "Asatsuyu!" multiple times. When she approached, the fire and the figure disappeared, leaving behind a single crimson rose in the center. Confused Chie stared at the rose, but as she picked it up she soon found herself drifting away from the dream, waking up in the laboratory yet again.
Chie could not tell how long she was asleep, but for once she felt much better than she has for the past while. When she stood up she looked to the table beside her she found a pitcher of water and a cup with a plate of some form of strange red meat. Chie got up slowly and took the pitcher and drank a large portion of it, and than took a deep breath as she touched the meat. She was initially repulsed by its appearance on first glance but a second glance dictated that she can't really be picky on what to eat. After tearing and eating the meat, she found it tasted worse than it appeared. After forcing the meat down her throat, she slowly stood up, feeling something deep inside, something dark, yet it didn't feel as if she was being crushed, what she felt, was blood lust.
"Damn arrancar, testing my pride, however, there are still two pieces he didn't take. My pride as a scientist, and my pride as a woman, a pissed off woman mixed with science is gonna be his downfall. He may have beaten me on the battlefield of combat, but what he may have not known is that bringing me here was transcending the battlefield to a battle of science, and he has been beaten. As a scientist, I am far more dangerous than a combatant."
Chie soon walked out into the lab, for once with her head held high albeit looking like a wreck of her former self. She picked up the device and walked to second door, and walked down a set of stairs into a large dungeon like room. On a table in the center was a skeleton made of some form of crystal. At five points were large sphere, each located at the knees, elbows, and one where the heart would be. Around the room were hollows, just basic generic base hollows with no intelligence. Chie hit a switch in the floor and the table lowered bellow as the chains holding one of the hollows lifted and trailed the room dragging the hollow above the hole. She turned on the device as the blank needle turned dark crimson again as she stabbed the hollow with it. After five seconds the hollow turned white and melted into a paste like substance. Meanwhile the tanks had liquid pouring into them, red liquid in one and black in the other. This happened nine more times as the pit began to fill with the white paste.
"What I didn't tell him was that the original gigai's were made by material laced with kido, however he doesn't know what I am capable off."
Chie stared at the pit as the paste condensed onto the skeleton figure, Chie quickly reached for a table beside her, putting down the device and she picked up a vial of blood, she poured it in quickly as the white paste turned a pink shade. Eventually it converged into a humanoid figure, Chie pulled a lever to raise it back up. Approaching the figure she closed her eyes as she pressed her hands together, taking a deep breath as her hands glowed orange. "This is risky, performing Kido I never had a chance to properly study, but this is my make or break moment, without anyone watching I am able to do this at my best chance. This is my battlefield!"
Chie opened her eyes as she slammed her hands down on the figures feet standing on the right side of the table. She slowly traced along the body as she started to chant which would end at the skull, holding thumbs in the eye sockets.
"Ashes of time, frame of god, find thy life from the fallen angels of the divine wreckage, walk the world of the young souls once more. Wake upon the morning sun and sleep upon the moon, and hear the cries of life!"
After finishing the incantation she let go, as the paste took a more human form as it turned to a red, blood like color resembling muscle tissue. She moved to directly in front of the chest area as she looked at it with a devious stare. She stretched her arms out outwardly, as she prepared her next kido spell. Instead of the second part of the actual Kido, she is throwing in her own twist, a locking and inhibiting Kido that would suppress not only generic hollow powers, but the phantasmal abilities of her captor. She aimed her middle and index fingers at the center of his chest, where the middle sphere from earlier would be. The tips glowed purple as she chanted and strikes her fingers into the targeting area.
"Order and chaos, light and darkness, seal the shadows among them, and swear upon thy body to keep true and become prison!"
Afterwords a purple light traced the skeletal frame, and eventually lighting up the whole frame but the lights retracted into the spheres, and then slowly dying out. Chie, exhausted panted heavily, but performed one last instance of Kido. Her entire left forearm glowed yellow as she began the chant, which would end with her slamming the abdominal region.
"Names of god, faces of the unknown, make thyself scarce among the sea of fate, become open to the souls of the damned!"
Chie put a twist on this particular spell, instead of dead she used damned to allow access for hollows, but regardless the frame twitched and spasm as a white skin like substance covered the body starting from the area of impact. After the body was fully coated, it stopped moving as Chie was finished. She picked up the body and went back upstairs as she put the gigai onto a table.
She stared at the body, grimacing with dark intents. "An eye for an eye, he took away my freedom, now he'll loose his own, I shall not roll over anymore. I want to live, and no one will take that away from me, I will claw my way out, I will not be held down any more!"
Eventually, Chie was working yet again at the work station, this time on a new device. She was working on a specialized cloth, aligning it with kido, grinds from the crystals of the forest of menos, and metal shavings found in the bottom of her zanpakuto sheath. Eventually after the material was made, she found the cloth highly resilient and easily mold able. She accidentally cut herself but as the blood dripped, she had inspiration. Afterwords she used one last kido spell to infuse her own reiatsu into it. Eventually she soon found it listening to her thoughts, albeit with difficulty. She soon had the cloth wrap around her kneck loosely like a scarf as it expanded in length, soon after giving it the name reibakufu.
Chie soon left to the bedroom, where she finally took a decent look to herself. "By the captain commanders shiny head! I look awful. I guess I need to fix myself up." Chie took off all the makeshift bandaging, looking at her wrecked clothing, noting that the entire left side of her Shihakushō was nearly torn, she found that the sleeve was gone, her hip exposed, and her left leg was seen from halfway up from her knee to the tabi, and both of of which were jagged. Her hair still covered part of her face but it fell naturally on her back. She than tore off her right sleeve to make things equal and tied it around her left knee, covering the bruises as she used her reibakufu to tie around her torn Hakima which flattered her petite figure better than the actual full shihakusho. She than sat in a corner as she looked towards the outside of the cage with a look of determination yet cold of despair. But overall, she was being patient, waiting for her prey to fall and tables to turn into her side, or any one to come to her.
She stared towards the white figure with sullied eyes as she contemplated her own desire. She moved towards the stool in the corner of the room and as she fell into a state of limbo between consciousness and sleep, and muttered the words very sluggishly, "Is my conviction strong enough? Am I just talking a big game and backing away again."
Eventually she leaned back against the wall, drifting into sleep noting a rose scent as she fell asleep. However she heard a faint familiar voice whisper. "Strength lies within convictions, to stray is to die, to keep is to be blind, a balance must be made. Each spirals around another to create a path, but one must be open to see the path they forged."
Eventually Chie felt her body go limp as her thoughts stagnated. Each night in Hueco Mundo was a painful experience trying to sleep as her alertness was unable to properly determine time from the dark, harsh sky of Hueco Mundo. As the pain of a headache faded through tolerance, all sensory input faded as the world became distant in sight and smell. But the scariest part was fading out of consciousness, as she was constantly afraid of being killed and never waking up, but often conflicted by the lack of a will to live, this confusion occurs all in a moment, before she falls asleep only to wake up into what she calls a 'nightmare of reality'.
