Hello everyone! I would like to use this opening line to thank you for clicking on this topic. So Thank You!
Now I decided I wanted to spend a thread severely overthinking the world of Bleach. I would like to qualify this thread by saying that I understand and respect everyone has their own head canon for some things. I do not mean to challenge any one else's head canon, or the sites idea on how things should work. None of that kind of thing. I just wanted to write something while stretching my brain some. My hope is that reading my thoughts will challenge you to give deeper thought into this world we all enjoy, but again it is not presented here to directly challenge your own. Thank you!

So where do we start with our exploration of Bunny's brain when it comes to the world of Bleach? The easiest point to start at would be with what we will refer to as "The Mortal Realm". This would be Earth.
So this is the easiest to explain. The Mortal Realm in Bleach operates generally the same as our own world, and so we can safely make an educated guess that real world physics are what determine the workings here, at least for those whom are still alive. Now the element that Bleach introduces into this is Reishi, Spirit Particles.
How Spirit Particles Work Here:
So based on knowledge from canon (which, to establish now, can be very flexible depending on the point in the story) Reishi in The Mortal Realm generally works like is does in the more spiritual planes. The difference is that the make up of The Mortal Realm is atoms and molecules, not Reishi. Loose Reishi in The Mortal Realm can be very sparse, but the atom to reishi ratio is unknown.
In The Mortal Realm there are two schools of the use of Reishi. The first are Quincy, who have the ability to use the loose reishi in the air to form their weapons. The other world be Spiritualist or Fullbringers, who have an internally generated supply of reishi which they can call upon. (In the filler we see a third school of use, the Bounto who had to drain reishi from others.)
Quincy:
So, as explained above, Quincy's power is to gather the loose Reishi around them. Given that the Reishi makeup of The Mortal Realm is extremely thin their powers in The Mortal Realm should logically be only a small percentage of their actual ability. Now in theory Quincy should be able to literally cause a being composed of Reishi (I.E Shinigami, Hollow, Plus) to slowly start to disintegrate as they gather together the Reishi in the air. However, this does not happen, and the most likely reason is because the Reishi of a Spiritual Being is to densely packed together to be separated. They can, however, use the Reishi emitted by a Spiritual Being to increase the power of their attack.
Based on in canon information we can also see that Quincy knew about the inherent flaw of their need to rely on the availability of Reishi particles in the air. They showed great understanding of the nature of Reishi and ingenuity of its use by creating many different inventions to attempt to make up for their abilities inherent weakness. We must also remember that they had a major conflict with the Shinigami of The Soul Society, and this war is what most likely lead to many of these items.
In the question of what becomes of them when they die we have no canon information. I would suspect that they would most likely become a plus as any other mortal would. I do not believe they would retain their power however, as a Spiritual Form would have no need to gather outside Reishi. Also, I think those that were once Quincy may have a greater chance of developing power in The Soul Society.
Spiritualist:
So Spiritualist use the other school of mortal reishi use, which would be having their own internally generated supply. We do not really see many people who fall into this specific line in canon, and the ones we do see tend to be very much comedy characters. So this line would be the most debatable as far as how they work. I think that the best way to think about them would be to look at how similar characters in other series work and apply it to what we know about Bleach's physics.
I see Spiritualist obtaining their power through one of two ways. The easiest way would be genetics, similar to how Quincy gain their abilities. The other way would be through extremely intense spiritual training. Which of these would inherently be stronger is again debatable, however I believe that one who gained their power through genetics may be more powerful, but would most likely not have the level of discipline and control as one who gain theirs from training.
An advantage that they have over Fullbrings would be that they would most likely not require attachment to an item to awaken and access their powers. However, if canon is a proper representation, they flat out wouldn't have the raw power that a Fullbringer has.
I believe that when they die they would become a plus, but would lost their power...but perhaps only temporarily. I believe that they would have a greater chance of developing power in The Soul Society, and their Zanpakuto may be a representation of the spiritual abilities they had as mortals.
Fullbringer:
These are mortals who also use the second school of mortal reishi use, which is they have an internally generated supply. We know how Fullbringers are formed, and that is their mother was attacked by a Hollow while pregnant, and the fetus absorbed some amount of the Hollows Reishi.
Their biggest disadvantage is that they require an item of great personal value to themselves to awaken and access their power. That would essentially mean that if that item was ever destroyed or lost they may lost the ability to access their powers, either partially or completely.
Now, this part is my view on how site canon could work since we all know that Aizen and the Hogyoku created Vizard in canon. I believe that when a Fullbringer dies they become a plus, and like the others lost their power. They also would have a greater chance of awakening power in The Soul Society, with their Zanpakuto possibly representing their power as a mortal. However, I believe in site canon that these would have a much much much greater chance at also having an Inner Hollow, given how a Hollows Reishi was absorbed in mortal utero to develop their abilities.
OTHER THOUGHT:
So as for Shinigami, Arrancar, Hollow, Sinner, and so on...
I believe they function as they do in their own respective realm. But, they do have a significant effect of the latent reishi in The Mortal Realm. We know that Hollow can affect mortals, as shown by Fullbringers, but I think that Shinigami may also have a similar effect. While they do not make a habit of attacking mortals, we know that in canon Shinigami over a certain level are required to have their powers sealed in The Mortal Realm. We can make an educated guess that this rule is not in place simply to avoid destruction, but most likely is in place because Shinigami over a certain Reitsu have an unwanted affect on The Mortal Realm. What exactly that is though we do not know.
=======================================================================================================
So, that was my thoughts on The Mortal Realm. This one was the easiest to explain I feel. I now leave this for discussion I would guess, and if people are interested in my thoughts on other such stuff for Bleach please let me know. If their is debate I ask for you to come at i as a friendly discussion, because once again I don't mean to say anyone else's thoughts are wrong, just that this is how I view it.
Disclaimer!
