Its strange that after nearly a year as a full fledged shinigami, Malix has yet to actually get to know any of his fellow squad mates. Outside of some training or missions including a group, he hasn't even spent much time around anyone. Getting laid out and sent to the 3rd didn't help either. While he enjoy's the solitude, everyone needs some kind of social interaction that wsn't work rlated.
What was there to do? there is always the age old tradition of going to the local bar and getting drunk with strangers, though with his recent inability to keep his anger in check, he'd most likely end up in a brawl. Unless of course there was someone to talk with, but who? Kirito? as much fun as the kid seemed to be from his personality when they first met. Something had his head cleared out of any real focus . Outside of him he'd only actually worked with Aeserninus and met Captain Nagisa before she had moved to take over the 2nd. A captain was out of the question, his one and only meet up with her was completely out of the blue, much to the stupid decision to just stroll up to her office to meet her. That left the Wolf of the 5th.
Well why her? Besides their first encounter at the training grounds, where he whistled at her then proceeded to get some training lessons, the other two times they crossed paths were for work. A mission the a forest of suicide, then there was the short time they fought side by side during the early part of the invasion. So in all honesty she of all people was really the only person he'd actually gotten to know, even if what he knew was almost nothing except for a name, and that she was a skilled fighter. Then came the question, if he was to have a non work related meet up, how would he go about getting it? The classic, you wanna get a drink after work? or would that come off too much like he was trying to ask her out? Did it matter?
The sun was setting, painting the evening sky with vibrant hues of red, orange, and yellow. Something Malix would normally stop to look at, though with his urge to go out and hang out, it didn't seem appropriate. Though its not like he had anything better to do, as much as he craved having some sort of casual chat, laying up on one of the rooftops to watch the sunset seemed much easier.
