[ ON THE SURFACE ]
Physical Description:
A tall, lean, young man with pale skin and messy red hair who appears at least six years younger than he truly is. Due to his lifetime of training, focused around archery and Hollow combat, the Quincy has broad shoulders, powerful arms, slim waist and strong legs. Like most Quincy raised for combat his body is about as athletic as humanly possible.
His body language is open and friendly hiding nothing from those around him. He tends to make expressive gestures as he speaks which get more frantic the more excited he gets. Fáelán tends to stand very close to the people he’s speaking too having little regard for personal space.
He speaks with a thick sing-songey Irish accent and his voice tends to be lively and excited sounding in tone.
Clothing: Fáelán doesn’t particularly care about his clothing but tends to choose loose jeans and t-shirts as well as whatever trainers are available.
Spiritual Description: Fáelán’s pale blue spiritual aura is unrefined. His lack of emotional control combined with his hot-blooded nature manifests as his aura flares wildly, lashing out almost giving the appearance of a wild fire flickering around his body especially in the heat of combat.
[ BEHIND THE EYES ]
Personality:
A cheerful and sociable young man, Fáelán is most at home when working closely with others however as a side effect he does quite poorly on his own and dislikes being alone greatly.
As a Mixed-Blood Quincy who grew up as a member of a subservient branch in an Ancient Traditional Family, Fáelán was raised to believe that he existed to be a tool of the Clann’s Main Family. Also due to the current master of the O’Mongan Clann he was made to feel that Gemischt Quincy are naturally inferior their Echt brethren. These beliefs have been instilled in the man and he believes in them deeply.
By his very nature Fáelán is a kind man and shares both the joy and pain of others. He will go out of his way to help other people out whether due to mortal danger or if they’re merely unhappy. However as upbeat and excitable as he may be the man can’t help but be a little too quick to act and wears his heart on his sleeve.
Being raised in a traditional catholic family, Fáelán draws strength from his faith and looks to prayer in times of need. Often praying during an activity, this is especially true in combat. It’s worth noting he’s a religious person being raised in a traditional Catholic family he took the teachings to heart and believes deeply in God and the teachings of the church.
Goals & Achievements:
Find his cousin Aodh and convince him to rejoin the family.
Have some fun outside of the Clann’s oversight before he has to return.
Meet other Quincy from outside the Clann
[ GUARDIAN ANGEL ]
Quincy Cross: Like most O’Mongan’s, Fáelán has a Celtic Cross, however Fáelán’s is a little special. It was a gift from his Grandfather, and the former head of the Clann, Micheál O’Mongan, and has been in the family since the Late Middle Ages. The current head Braden is furious that the ancient Artefact ended up in the hands of a Mixed-Blood Quincy however even the Pure-Blood supremacist knew how distasteful it would be to take his nephews Quincy Cross from him.
Power - Weapon Morph
During Fáelán’s first hunt against a Menos Class Hollow he realised how much of a disadvantage his family were at when the Hollow managed to get in close despite their constant barrage of arrows. This belief that Quincy needed to learn to defend themselves better at all ranges. Fáelán’s can shift his Spirit Weapon from it’s original Bow form to an alternate Spear form.
Láech Bogha (Warrior Bow) - In it’s bow form, Fáelán’s spirit weapon has the power to use Dhiaga Saighead (Holy Arrow) which lets the Quincy summon more Reishi that he usually can into a single shimmering arrow which creates an explosive arrow shot.
Saighdiúra Gar (Soldier’s Spear) - In its spear form, Fáelán’s spirit weapon has the power to use Solas Sleá (Light Lance) which causes the Quincy’s spear to glow bright with Reishi and when the weapon has gathered enough energy to launch a single continuous beam of blue destructive energy at the opponent.
Spirit Weapon:
Láech Bogha (Warrior Bow) - Unlike the Echt Quincy of his family he was not born with the hereditary weapon of the Clann. The bow appears as a simple blue energy weapon, in the form of a hunting bow, with recurving tips as it is based on a Traditional Recurve Bow.
Saighdiúra Gar (Soldier’s Spear) - This variant takes the shape of a spear. The shaft at 180cm long and the tip an additional 30cm. Due to this being an unrefined weapon it lacks the metallic appearance of more advanced Quincy weaponry. The spirit weapon constantly leaks spiritual energy which seems to form into a viscous liquid and drips from the weapon like blue blood. Unlike the majority of Quincy weaponry in this form it can’t fire Heilig Pfeil.
[ LEGACY CREATED ]
Origin
Fáelán was born to Seanán and Eleonore on the 12th of March 1988 to the branch family of the aristocratic O’Mongan Clann. Seanán was a Echt Quincy and Eleonore was a Gemischt Quincy and so their son Fáelán was also a Gemischt Quincy. Due to his Mixed-Blood status he looked down on by not only the main side of the family but also the pureblood supremacists in the branch side.
Throughout his early years Fáelán became good friends with his cousin and heir to the O’Mongan family, Aodh. Fáeláns uncle, and Aodhs father, Bradán didn't approve of his son’s casual relationship with Fáelán and disapproved of their friendship due to his supremacist views. However, once Aodh’s powers awakened the intensity of his training increased meaning the two spent less time together. This left Fáelán feeling jealous of Aodh’s new powers but also lonely as his cousin no longer had enough time for them to play.
In these moments of loneliness Fáelán still had people to keep in company however as he had grown close to his grandfather Micheál O’Mongan, the previous head of the Clann, as well as his cousin Aine the sister of Aodh although she was often too sickly to play.
Rise to Power:
Fáelán’s powers awoke at the age of 9, during his routine archery training with his grandfather Micheál. After gaining his Quincy powers, his grandfather had Fáelán join in with his cousins training. He was taught Quincy history, Clann history and basic politics on top of his practical lessons of archery, reishi control and various activities to keep him physically fit.
Fáelán enjoyed his training, he had the chance to spend lots of time with his cousins again, especially Aodh. He preferred training with his eldest cousin, not only because they were best friends before their powers awakened, but because Aodh was the a prodigy, the best of them all. Fáelán believed training with the Aodh meant that his powers would grow faster and he would be able to close the gap in skill. However, the gap only grew wider with each passing year. Fáelán was jealous of his cousins power and the rate at which it grew, but he never resented his cousin, simply admired him. Fáelán didn't get much chance to train with Aine as she was often sickly and too weak to train. Cathal, the middle cousin, treated Fáenál with disgust and contempt. Cathal was a pureblood supremacist and as such hated Fáenál because of his mixed heritage. This came through when the two sparred as Cathal would hold nothing back, Fáelán often got injured, sometimes quite seriously.
When Fáelán was 16, his youngest cousin, Aine, passed away because of her declining health. During her wake Fáelán noticed his eldest cousin and uncle argueing at several points, he found this very disrespectful and went to confront his cousin a few days later, however Aodh had already left. A week or so had passed when Fáelán recieved a letter from his cousin. They kept in touch for several years before the letters dwindled and eventually stopped coming from his cousin.
From the age of 17 Fáelán started hunting hollows with other members of the family. After a year of fighting the hollow, Fáelán was hunting with his father when they detected a menos grande nearby, after a short battle, the pair managed to kill the menos. The following year he moved to the city of Derry to help lead the O’Mongans of the north to defend the city from the hollow threat. While in Derry, Fáelán took a job as a Network Engineer as when he was younger he showed interest and an aptitude for computers.
Over the next few years Fáelán fought many Hollow, but realised a major flaw in the fighting style of the Quincy in that if a hollow manages to get close the Quincy bows become almost useless. Fáelán tried to work on a way to overcome this weakness, until during a fight against three hollows at close range, he managed to change the shape of his weapon from the standard bow, to a spear. After the fight however the spear lost its solidity. Fáelán then adjusted his training so that he could practice with his spear as well as his bow.
Call to Action:
For five years Fáelán served as one of the more powerful Quincy in the Northern part of the country to defend the innocent people of the Island from Hollow attack.
Later Seanán, Fáelán’s father, travelled up to Derry to visit his son. With him he brought fabricated orders from his brother Bradán, the leader of the Clann, to immediately pack up and leave the country to find his cousin Aodh and return the former heir to the clan. His father give him advice to try visiting Fredrick, Aodh’s uncle, in Germany first as he was the last Quincy they know Aodh made contact with and who might know where he lives now.
After bidding his farewells to his mother, father and friends Fáelán took a flight from Belfast straight to Berlin. Once he arrived at Fredrick’s estate he was disappointed to find Aodh no longer lived in Germany but rather had moved to Japan many years earlier. Rather than getting a flight straight to Japan the Quincy took Fredrick up on his offer to not only stay at his home but also to receive training directly from the Pureblood Quincy himself.
After a few months of training Fáelán took a flight from Berlin to Japan however, despite having been given directions and an address by Fredrick, the Irish Quincy managed to get lost and failed to locate not only Aodh’s house but the entire of Karakura Town several months.
