For a long time, the Nameless had simply existed as a lone massive figure out in the furthest reaches of Hueco Mundo where even if the desolate world's concept of barren was stretched to the utmost. It existed there for years stretching into decades with nothing, no need for errant thought or communication. It had decayed, happily it assumed, for all that time. It was free of hunger, free of desire, free of everything until one day it simply...started up again.
The Nameless creature didn't know how or why, and in its great absence of awareness it had all but forgotten, well, everything. How it had come there was a mystery, how long it had dwelt, why it had chosen to do so if it had chosen to do so at all, all of these things were mysteries. All the creature knew, in the beginning, was that it existed; that realization was powerful enough to reignite its consciousness anew.
Along its journey it had encountered a strange individual, a being of bones who became its friends and together they travelled through the vast wastes of Hueco Mundo together to the tunnels that lay beneath the twisting sands until they had at last entered the dense quartz tree filled Forest of Hollows where the Menos dwell and not once, anywhere along the journey, had The Nameless creature ever questioned why it had been driven so far.
Its massive size, the field of consumption that radiated out far in all directions, had seen it safe through the vast reaches of Hueco Mundo, not even in the Forest of Hollows was it disturbed.
It had time, to think, and reflect and learn and grow. It possessed a Hollow intelligence born free of endless gnawing hunger, lost to the unique wonder of its position.
In time, thankfully, it had arrived. The Nameless creature emerged from one of the long branching tunnels to behold the sight of Las Noches, the true sight of its grand majesty. The glacial pace of the creature slowed as it saw its destination, soon stopping entirely as an unusual sense of unease filled it. It understood quickly, hesitation and confusion. It knew on some level that it had been pulled all this way by some sense, some desire but it had never given reason to question why, knowing only that it must be done. Now? Face to face with the thing it desired it couldn't bring itself to move forward without that understanding, but neither could it will itself to go.
Fear, an ancient feeling stirred, it's yellow orbs turned dark red swiveling in their positions amidst its massive form trying to decide, to find some information to make the situation. Why had it come? What should it do? If it could not decide it knew that it would return to the way it was, that it would become the inert lost wandering mass of nothing once again. It would not, could not, allow itself to go regress and yet neither could it find purpose for so long a journey. So, it tried to puzzle out its fears, to understand what had driven it.
And waited.
And waited.
And waited...
