There was a new Queen.
That amused smirk spread over Sozen's slim lips- his eyes half-closed in contemplation as his hand lightly swirled the wine within his glass. The red maned middle-aged man sat in a brilliant gold throne that floated in the air casually. He wore shinigami robes, but they were heavily altered- a deep crimson kimono draped overtop it, lined with gold edging and designs of golden dragons circling along it. The center of its back holding a golden circle, with the Kanji [ 吹 ] engraved in the same gold in it. The Xôi family symbol, now completely unknown and unheard of within the world- once a noble family. Floating in the air next to him was a slim golden side-table, holding the bottle from which the glass of wine originated. Leaning against the table, was a golden Jian- housed in a leather and wooden sheath just as elegant as the robes the man wore.
He had kept his reiatsu quietly under perfect control, his eyes staring downward with that same amused expression at the large white building- the new queen had been formed. It had been a bit of a chaotic ascent, she obviously hadn't quite been ready to take up the position- he wondered if the Quincy could withstand having such an immature leader? He cared little for the individual races, but he did care if the balance of the races was tipped in the wrong direction due to a weak leader. The question was simple- did he believe this girl was worth the throne or should he bring her down a few notches to ensure a different King or Queen that was more competent could take over? Gin was still far too weak to attract his main interest just yet thanks to his fall- the Shinigami's commander was easily competent enough to hold his own.
The most recent invasion proved that fact. Heuco Mundo was in shambles, but he was already working on crafting their new King for them. They would already have one if Gin hadn't lost his strength and gotten so damn weak- he couldn't force the boy into becoming a Vaizard if his soul was as weak as it was at the moment, the hollow and Arrancar would just have to fight amongst themselves and have a few different weak Kings and Queens until Gin was ready for the position officially. The humans never really had an official leader, if they did they were closely knit with either the Shinigami or the Quincy- making their own leader redundant anyway. That meant that the only thing for him to truly be concerned for at the moment- was the Quincy's leadership.
Eyes slowly lowered downward at the building once more. Perhaps he should play with the little one for a bit? If she survived the test, she would not only win his approval- but also grow stronger from the encounter he was certain. If she wasn't up to snuff well- she would either die or barely survive. If she died, someone else would eventually take her place- if she survived, she would either step down and become afraid- or; if she was strong of will- use it as fuel to become stronger. He would test her again after a few months perhaps and see how much it had driven her. Either way was fine, in the end- and it proved in his mind that the girl was in need of a real test no matter the outcome. That smug, amused grin split his lips as he raised a hand.
Frey, and the other Quincy around her in the building would suddenly feel the immense, oppressive reiatsu of a Shinigami utilizing an incredibly powerful technique of some sort- before the world would flutter, grow dark, and ripple. A single blink and the world would shift and change- suddenly she would find herself alone, in a massive field. Surrounded by flowers, grass, and the occasional tree- the world would appear completely normal, however, the sky was not blue, but a deep crimson, golden clouds floating through its royal hues. The grass, flowers, and trees all varying shades of gold- much as the normal wonders of nature would be varying shades of green. Within that deep crimson sky, Sozen sat calmly on his throne- bright orange eyes staring down at the young woman with moderate interest.
"You are the new Queen, correct little one?" his voice boomed outward from him, despite seeming to speak normally- his tone polite, refined, with a very slight accent reminiscent of the mandarin dialect. The glass of wine still lightly swirling in his grasp, his chin resting lightly in his opposite, well-manicured hand as his gaze focused on the little blonde Viking queen. The fun was about to begin, would she survive his trial? Or would her story end here? He was almost eager to find out.
