Kousetsu still wasn’t used to how dark the house was at night, it seemed as if Kionchi had a disliking of artificial light sources. Not that she couldn’t see in the dark just fine, but it was rather puzzling nonetheless.
Her friend had retired for the night after a long day of training. Kousetsu should have been asleep as well, but her restlessness kept her up most nights, and this one was no different. However, because she wasn’t used to her surrounding just yet, she took this time alone to explore a bit. She first made her way to Kionchi’s office, where he spends most of his day when he was not dealing with Kousetsu. It was apparent to her that the Shinigami was slightly OCD. Glancing in various directions, she noticed the extreme lack of clutter, and the overbearing amount of tidiness instead. This wasn’t normal for her, as the ruins of the once beautiful Los Noches had rubble strewn about the land, it was as if no one cared enough about the place to clean it up a little. That was only one of the many reasons why she departed from there.
Not soon after making her way into the office, she found herself at the base of a bookshelf, probing aimlessly through encyclopedias and various other reading material. The most interesting media being the manga Kionchi collected. Kousetsu was highly indulged into a comic, it was the pictures that really caught her eye, not so much the story. Experiencing art of all kinds was one of the things that brought a smile to her face, even if the expression was brief. Happiness wasn’t an emotion she knew how to feel consistently, and because of this, she didn’t know how to hold on to it.
The exhaustion from the day was starting to catch up to her, losing her grip on the manga in front of her face, she shook her head and tried to pay more attention. It was futile of course. The dark realm of rest started to tug at her body and pull her under. The manga fell from her hands with a brisk noise of flipping paper pages and her head dropped to the ground with it. Curling up on the floor next to the bookshelf, her tail twitched and flicked until it gently rested itself atop her body, keeping her warm for the night.
Kousetsu wasn’t the dreaming type. Which wasn’t saying much considering she wasn’t quite acclimated with her new body. However in the past few weeks that she had been able to sleep in this form, she hadn’t experienced a dream even once. So it came to her surprise when images and sounds began to play in her mind as she was sound asleep. Las Noches - Or at least her rendition of it - stood high and mighty in front of her, what could have been the castle prior to the destruction. A solemn look crossed her face. This is what it should be. she thought to herself. How could anyone destroy such a beautiful place? This just showed Kousetsu how much the souls of Hueco Mundo didn’t care. This was also why she made the conscious decision to leave and make her own legacy, not fueled by the corrupted forces of a race that may as well be inherently confused.
Kionchi had mentioned his plans for Las Noches and what the future might hold for both of them, however, she couldn’t seem to recall said plans as she was distracted by her dream. Being fully aware in this state was mind-boggling. She hadn’t experienced anything like it before and honestly wanted to continue to explore the world. She was too afraid to move, though, afraid that if she moved, she would lose control and break the dream before she had a chance to even enter the castle that loomed over her.
Instead of moving, Kousetsu decided she would stand and admire the architecture of the building, taking it all in as her physical body rested. Her ears perked up and twitched with delight, her tail swaying ever so slightly. For the first time in a while, she seemed to be truly enjoying herself, and she wanted to embrace that.
Do not resist me.
