Hollow had a reputation for being unintelligent and incapable of of using common sense, but sometimes, they could really surprise you. Zettai recapped the events of the day. He had been captured by a formidable group of adjuchas on the sandy plains of Hueco Mundo. They dragged him back to a curious pit in the quarts ringed by what could only be the trunks of the withered trees in the Gillian Forest. Placed in it with one other, they were ordered to fight. Either one of them could leave, or neither of them would. The pit was very deep, the walls too steeply dug to climb. Along the delimbed pillars, the group of hollow that had captured Zettai sat and watched, so attempting to escape somehow was really ill-advised. It really made the only option clear -- defeat the other combatant.
Roughly thirty feet separated him from his opponent, giving them both plenty of room to wind up before the actual clash began. The intention in such spacing was clear, that they were expected to truly go all out, and Zettai had a hunch that this was a ploy that often worked. Indeed, the walls of the pit, as well as various places along the floor of it, had permanent glassification, evidence of potent energy burns and scars on an otherwise untouchable face. No, this was definitely not the first time this place had been used for this purpose. Chastising himself for getting distracted, he returned his attention to the other with him. Now, Zettai wasn't one to usually judge, but this thing was a god damn monster. If more hollow looked like this, he might see justice in the reasoning that human and quincy gave for hating his kind. Regardless, he decided that it would be best to start their interaction friendly.
No such luck. A powerful cero immediately struck the ground behind him as one of the watching hollow yelled at him. His opponent received a similar prod to it's behind. Ah. It was do or die. "I apologize, friend. It seems our purpose today is to fight." Reaching behind him with his right arm, Zettai grabbed the hilt of Herramienta, his zanpakuto. The cool metal greeted him with a warm, welcoming pulse. As he tightened his grip and intended to draw, the sheath faded away with vigor, breaking down and disintegrating off his otherwise bare chest to allow for a smooth, uninterrupted draw from his shoulder. The particles of the strap that held the sheath to his chest floated upward before fading away, passing his left eye (his only eye) and mop of long, brunette hair. A replica of the legendary 'El Cid Tizona', Herramienta aimed it's double-edged tip at the opponent before releasing a dark, emerald glow that rose from the steel like a flame in slow motion.
In his free hand, reishi began to collect at the palm before extending and growing out into a thin needle. Similarly to his zanpakuto, this needle glowed with a strong, green light. Unlike Herramienta, however, the reishi needle's green was a sky-foam green. The distinct difference in color was the secret to Zettai's survival over all these years, and the only true indicator that his Absolution Wave was present. If his opponent was watching closely (if it even had eyes), it would be able to tell that the reiatsu pouring off Zettai's skin and swirling around him like a child throwing a storm had a slightly different shade than both, a more subtle jade. The jade was his signature color, the quarts around him refracting the glow every direction around him, throwing away the shadows and providing a small amount of light for the two. "I will be the gentlemen and offer you the first move. Make it count."
