As a person, he still has a lot of growing to do. While experienced in battle and swordplay, he rushes headlong into decisions without thinking much about consequences, acting rashly somewhat often. His focus, intense and unwavering, proves to be to the detriment of his ability to relax. It's difficult for him to enjoy life for what it is and to just enjoy the simple things. If someone were to help him understand how to relax and just experience life without always being worried about or thinking about something, that'd be a good piece of character development. A friendship with him would result in a loyal companion that would work to help solve problems that you have, even if they're difficult ones.
His hobbies have been slow to develop, but music is one thing that he's worked to keep up with through the years, the 20s and 50s are his favorite eras of music, Jazz and Rock being the two genres he enjoys most. He knows a fair bit about agriculture, and keeps a small windowsill garden going in his barracks.
My main goals here are to up Kuroda's physical abilities, Zanjutsu, Hakuda and Shunpo namely, so combat threads for practice are probably what I'll most likely want. Also building up relationships with characters around Seireitei, since I'm new and whatnot, building up character development and relations are also important to me.

Hello! I would generally suggest that you might want to give us something quick to read about who Kuroda is at a glance. Understandably Masteries in combat are your goal, but, also following up with more specifically what you can offer other people is much more enticing!
So what are Kuroda's interests? What is he like as a soldier? As a friend? What are his hobbies?
That's a much more welcoming common ground than "hey, we both have a sword"
