Of course she couldn’t help but to wonder why the majority of their Commanders had been a Vaizard. The idea was a frightening one in the sense that the strongest of them could do a lot of damage should they want to. And losing control of a violent entity residing inside of you.. well, it could lead up to a disaster, even Kasumi could see that much.
Watching Hazuki putting down the books with a thud, she caught herself feeling relieved about both Walkren and Nagisa being in range of her power to take on should things go sour. At least, she hoped them to be. Last time she had sparred with the Captain of the Second Kasumi had lost because of her inability to trap the woman. Hopefully she would never have to try to do that for real. Inhaling deeply she put her faith into Nagisa’s ability to control herself and shoved the thoughts toward the back of her mind.
“That’s qui-” she started out, but never got to finish when a familiar voice cut off the rest of her sentence. For a moment Kasumi felt annoyed, and it showed on her face when she turned around to deal with Tokiyo’s rudeness. It took her a second too long to realize that Tokiyo wasn’t supposed to be here at all, and by the time that her brain had processed the shock, the man was already talking about the ceilings of the library.
The ceilings? Drafty in here?!
Kasumi’s head spun. The man actually had the audacity to put on the fireplace without any explanations about how he got here, and why he was here in the first place. And all of that after having disappeared from the realm and put them through the pile of shit on the Sōkyoku Hill. It was infuriating; she felt the corner of her eyebrow move up, then down. It repeated itself, she couldn’t stop the trembling, the eyebrow jerked again – a tic nerveux?
Suppressing the urge to slap his stupid glasses out of his hand, Kasumi tensed.
“Us?” She managed to voice with her eyebrow still going out of control. “What brings us here?” Unable to do anything but laugh she did just that. The sound, however, was bitter and cold.
“You are supposed to be wearing this haori,” elegant fingers briefly touched the side of the foreign fabric draped over her usual uniform. “but instead, you’re chilling here in the Library?”
With anger and disbelief written across her face she continued to voice her displeasure with the older Shinigami. “People think you’re dead!” She paused, eyes widening, and senses spreading in hope to find his presence.
