The handwritten letter to the Captain Commander had been more of a final exam on Saya's writing lessons than an actual attempt at contacting the prestigious leader. Sure, she could have just as easily sent a Hell Butterfly with the message, or gone right up to her office, but that would be too simple. So, the letter and all of it's mistakes and few scribbles was sent off with only a minor case of blinding anxiety for the afternoon. The poor girl who had only just been recruited into the Second could do nothing more than second guess every single stroke she had made, hoping she wouldn't make an entire fool of herself.
Very few people really knew of Saya's background, but most knew of her lack of basic skills. Those who knew she had only just learned to read and write were shocked that the girl had never once written a single letter in her entire life and could present something with only minor errors here and there, but for her it was a failure. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't grasp it over night. Despite how well she excelled in visual studies and the magical arts, she struggled with the most basic of things like reading the name plates outside of doors.
Apparently, the Captain Commander was on the sympathetic side and got back to the young recruit in a timely manner. A brief message detailing a location and a time, as well as the Captain Commander's excitement to meet Saya was all that she got. Saya couldn't help but sigh as if she hadn't breathed in years when her request was actually accepted. To think someone like Shinoda would actually humor a meeting with a nobody! It almost seemed too good to be true.
Wearing her standard, finely pressed uniform, Saya made her way to the First Division and soon found herself at what she would describe as the back porch of the building. A wooden patio overlooking a vibrant garden. Simple, yet full of life, the scenery was certainly something to appreciate, but Saya was far more focused on the white haired maiden that was sat under the shade of the wood roof.
"Captain Commander," Saya said with a smile as she bowed to the woman. "Thank you so much for meeting me here. May I sit?"
Only once Kasumi complied did the brunette get comfortable next to her. Saya took a moment to just breathe and then started her case.
"I've been doing research on the Quincy lately and I can't help but notice that they're starting to grow in rather surprising numbers," she started off, voice as official as can be. "If at all possible, I would like to help in the efforts being made to limit their numbers and reduce the damage done to the Cycle. I know I'm a new recruit, but I know I can help out a lot in this regard because I am very knowledgeable about this Order they're starting to form."
