Sable foot met with blanched, polished floor in a repetitive cycle as the figure— entirely new to Las Noches— painfully stood out amongst the white and orderly setting with her singed and naked appearance that was haunted by the scent of burning flesh. Above her flew the rune-covered Raven that she was never seen without; its beady orange gaze taking in the sea of alabaster rock like a computer scanning for the slightest hint of trouble. The creature didn’t like them being in a place where they stood out so painfully but coming to Las Noches had been its idea, and it still believed this venture would be worth it in the end.
Verbrennung’s own red on black eyes swept over the scenery with more than a tinge of curiosity. This place was the hallmark of the Arrancar— her people— yet she couldn’t help but be amazed that it was so immense in size. A city within a domed fortress and a veritable altar to all that was orderly and clean within the unfastidious chaos of Hell. Las Noches felt a little too much like an attempt to carve out a 'Heaven' within the bowels of perdition for Verbrennung, and yet the Queen of this false Heaven had given her a title here— Espada— so what did that make her? A wannabe Angel? Her lips pursed thinly at the thought.
Along with this title, Verbrennung had been given a castle to call her own. It was big in its own right but bleak and barren within, a theme that was only disrupted by the occasional piece of white quartz furniture the Arrancar had demanded Full-Masks to carve for her. Any other personal effects left behind by previous Espada ended up as piles of ash where they stood if they couldn't withstand Verbrennung's heat, and the Espada had no use for such things.
What of the other castles, she wondered. The other… 'Espada'. Who were they and what made them tick? Would she finally get to meet another of her kind up close and personal, and would she be a freak even amongst her own kin? A thought best left buried until the moment of truth, perhaps.
Silent musings had easily occupied her mind during her trek, Verbrennung’s steps coming to a halt just in front of a castle that looked similar to her own, at least from the outside. The internals were where all the personality was, she figured— a thought that was punctuated by a mental pause as she recalled once more the empty state of her own abode.
‘Lets see how far we can go before we run into flammables,’ Her words echoed into the mind of her avian companion.
‘Try to be polite, we cannot afford to make enemies here,’ Came the Raven’s mental reply whilst it settled itself upon the Arrancar’s black shoulder— the fringe of flame-shaped reiatsu that danced along her shoulders simply moving around it.
“I’ll try…” She murmured aloud, that cycle beginning once more as she pushed her hands against the doors of the castle before her.
