Agh, damn. I really should have thought about talking to somebody on the inside before escaping like this again: I really don't like hurting all of these people, even if I don't know them. Real smart Kirito: next time you give a death threat to a superior officer, wait to do once you know it'll be easy to escape to the human world!
If one were to look behind Kazuto, they would find nothing other than the limp, unconscious bodies of the night staff of The Fourth Division. There hadn't been this many people the last time he had been trying to use the senkaimon illegally (because once just WASN'T ENOUGH, was it), and rightfully so. In fact, it was probably Kirito's own fault that so many more people were on guard duty and the night watch, as he had been the most recent person to use the senkaimon illegally, and his little 'excursion' had turned out to be a rather big deal. It wasn't all that surprising, considering he had formerly been the fifth seat of the seireitei's strongest division. The Fifth Division was supposed to be filled with people undeniably loyal to the seireitei, so why had he gone and done what he did? It seemed to confound most shinigami, which truly showed how damn brainwashed they were.
But, alas, he was finally here and the distasteful violence had stopped. In front of Kazuto lay the gargantuan upright rectangular structure that was the senkaimon. In front of it was a control panel, one that he knew how to use because of some... "trial and error", you could call it, from his last excursion through the thing. He had to be quick though: if he didn't get into the portal, the entrance would be closed and Kirito would be unable to get into the "dimensional hallway" of sorts and would be stuck in the Soul Society. Rushing to the control panel, Kazuto pressed a few buttons and then hit the large green "Start" button on the right of the panel, causing the portal to come whirring to life. Walking forwards, he stood at the entrance to what could be a new life for him, a gateway to freedom from the ridiculous customs, formalities, and tyrannical, oppressive, completely scatterbrained Gotei 5.
Is this the right decision? What happens from here.
Opening his eyes after the brief thought, Kirito quickly spoke to himself, though if anybody had been around, they would have thought he was insane.
"Whatever happens from here... I guess I'll have to figure it out then."
Then, waltzing forwards, Kirito hopped in to the portal, finding himself in the calm, Japanese styled hallway that was the senkaimon's created method of travel. Yet, before he starting moving, or so much as looked forwards, he had to check on something. Looking behind him, he saw the portal he had come through close behind him: good, he had made it in time.
Now to get to the exit into the human world.
Sighing, Kirito looked forwards, and began walking, only to realize something. Standing in front of him was what appeared to be a robed old man. Stopping in his tracks, Kirito looked the man up and down before realizing something, his eyes widening at this surprise. This was no ordinary man, this was Tokiyo Fujikagi, Ex-Captain Commander of the Gotei 5, a man who was presumed dead after an altercation with Shun Minamoto! Kirito's back instantly straightened as if he was a little boy with his hand caught in the cookie jar at midnight, and then he spoke rather awkwardly, unsure of what to say. How could he be sure anyways? The man in front of him was not only sort of his ex-superior, but was also one of Kirito's greatest inspirations as a shinigami. Therefore, he didn't know whether to be afraid because he was technically disobeying seireitei law, or to just roll with the scenario.
"Oh! Um... hello, ... Sir... Captain Commander.... hello Mister Fujikagi!"
With the little greeting, Kirito swiftly bowed to show his respect to the man.
