Ah Germany… It was always beautiful in the springtime and this castle, that he’d been to once to meet with Weylin was as amazing as ever. He wondered if he had time to visit the gardens again… He found it a little unnerving that all the guards and servants kept staring at him as if he was some kind of revolting creature. He was human like them, and even if he no longer possessed the same powers as they his blood was still that of the quincy! It was almost as if the only thing that counted was ability…
Freylief had sent someone to help him, he wondered if she needed help… More importantly though if he did offer to help would she pull him into this order she’d been making? Even more importantly, if he did would he be placed under someone? He valued his freedom quite a bit, after all. He shook his head. “No… No time to be thinking about that. She helped you, now you help her.” His thoughts raced at the prospect of everything that had occurred in the time since he’d been gone. What had the Shinigami been up to, he wondered, and what machinations were the hollows planning? Who’s rise and fall had he missed? What could he have done to prevent… But no, it was too late to ponder what-ifs. He could only focus on the here and now. Eventually he should go back to the mountains of Tibet, see how those people were doing. He hadn’t visited since that thing that happened with Adimus.
Freylief had risen in the world, as well as power. The many servants patrolling the area, different vassals of varying strengths… All of them were stronger than Raph, but that really wasn’t saying all that much. He wandered the castle, at least the areas that he was permitted in, stared at various works of art, the castles architecture and watched a training session for the newest recruits, though the instructor continuously, and rather nervously, glanced over his shoulder.
This was getting ridiculous, he wanted to see Freylief. Yes she was busy but for heaven’s sake, she couldn’t have so much to do that she couldn’t see an old friend, could she? It had been at least a day since he’d arrived and still he hadn’t been able to meet with her. He could tell which doors was hers based on the two men that were guarding it. When he approached they moved in front of the door and barred his path.
Looking upwards he simply started shouting, “HEEEEY! Frey!! What the hell are you doing?! You send someone to get me, and then we can’t even talk?! The hell’s the deal?! I know you’re the queen and all that but don’t you think that we should at least talk?!” He tapped his foot.
“How dare you!” shouted one of the guards. “You will refer to her as your Majesty, Your Highness or, at the very least, Queen Freylief.” He stepped forward. “Do you need to be taught a lesson?!”
Raph watched the man with disinterest. “Yeah, sure, I’m not as strong as you right now. Plus I don’t have much in the way of abilities right now, there’s a lot of work that I have to do still in order to get back into fighting shape, BUT…” And holding out his hand he lifted the man into the air. “But our abilities are not as different as you might think they are. Yes, she’s queen, but I’ve never had much of a way with formalities. So, have you cooled down yet?” The man nodded and Raph put him back down. “Now go get Frey for me, would you? Or at least just tell her that Raph is here.” The man nodded, and shakily, turned around opened the door and went inside, hopefully to get Frey, though it was as possible that she would be a bit confused as to why someone would be summoning her, hopefully if the guard told her his name she would be far more willing to come down. He was getting tired of waiting, dammit!
