".. that's fine, keep the change."
Shinsuke's polite voice uttered, sliding the leftover coins back to the woman who attended the register. When she opened her mouth to reassure him yet again, Shinsuke simply raised his gloved hand, silencing her to spare himself the embarrassment. He already felt pathetic - waiting for a girl in a grubby little cafe in the Rukongai was bad enough, but getting pity from a girl who couldn't even make a macchiato properly was something Shinsuke simply wouldn't abide. Narrowed eyes surveyed the occupied stalls around him, the background chatter and laughter masking the sound of his teeth grinding together. Shinsuke had been slighted, yet again, by a girl he considered a friend. Were women simply too unreliable or was she more of a slave to her humanity than Shinsuke first assumed? Before he could finish the thought, Shinsuke's mind filled with the sound of a thousand voices humming unintelligibly, grinding together like a mantis' wings to produce speech. "CLEAR YOUR MIND OF BITTERNESS, RESENTMENT DILUTES REASON." Zenōsha decreed mightily, offering a Godly decree that only his fellow soul could hear. Shinsuke wordlessly complied, forcing a smile onto his face as he sat down at his two person booth. Although deferring to his spirit, he couldn't help but reflect on the cause of her truancy. His note had been extremely clear and was even slid under her door by hand.
"Clear, professional and polite, what more could I do?"
Impatient thoughts distracted the young man as he drummed the fingers of his Zanpakutō on the table, electing to give Soyo-Soyo one more chance. If she couldn't arrive by the time the incompetent husk behind the counter produced a substandard coffee, then he'd simply leave the girl and demote her to a mere acquaintance. Thought it pained him to be attached to somebody and despite her wanton degeneracy, Shinsuke had a soft spot for Soyo-Soyo and a small part of him wanted her to turn up on time, if only to not lose the time and energy he had invested in her already.

I hope this is the right room, Ms. Jugan. It's been a while, hasn't it? I hope things have been well with you and your brother - I've been great, if not busy. You should be receiving this on Thursday, providing this reaches you in time, I expect you to meet at our usual spot in two days time.
Warm regards,
Shinsuke.
