Feng sat on the ground, leaning against the wall, in the empty First Division Dojo. He hummed softly to himself as he read the book in his hands, flicking through the pages. He had borrowed the book, it was a summation of Reishi Manipulation and the Spirit Weapons used by the Quincy. A fascinating read really. The anger he’d felt towards that white haired woman had faded since his hospitalisation but unfortunately he could no longer consider the Quincy mistreated. They had to be dealt with as swiftly as possible and so he would study them as much as possible.
Dressed as he was the man stood out amongst the other members of the First. Having abandoned his Shihakusho and Zanpakutō back in his quarters. Instead Feng was wearing loose white pants and currently no top due to the heat although on the floor to the side, folded up, was a blue silk Changshan next to which sat a pair of black cotton shoes and his white socks. He couldn’t wear them in the Dojo after all.
The man sighed and closed the book despite how intriguing the contents were and sat it down on his lap. Flicking to the last page he pulled out a small folded up piece of paper and shut the book again. Opening the note he flattened it against the book’s cover and read it once again.
Feng had, of course, replied with the affirmative. He was happy to help any Shinigami who needed it and as a relatively recent Graduate he felt like he owed to to the senior men and women in their ranks. Also she was an officer, he could hardly turn her down. Regardless he had been incredibly bored ever since being released from the Hospital.
He knew Officer Kohara as well, oh not particularly well or anything, but he had met the woman at the Kidō Club a little while ago. She seemed a pleasant enough woman so there wasn’t any reason to try and avoid her.
Holding out a hand he let a few red sparks dance over his fingers causing him to smile faintly. He had recently gotten a much better handle on his Shunkō thanks to the Captain - Commander. Of course he was still a mere novice and could hardly consider himself skilled enough to teach anyone how to use it but he could demonstrate why it might be useful to learn. The big downside to the technique in Feng’s opinion was the nightmare of trying to find a teacher as the Captain - Commander was the only know Master in all of Soul Society.
Well she should be here soon. Feng had sent a note message back to Nagato with a location, this Dojo, and a time, about 20 minutes from now.
Putting the book aside, setting it on the ground, the man pushed himself to his feet. Moving to the centre of the hall he took a deep breath, letting himself relax and he took up the typical stance of Xing Yi Quan. Moving forward he moved through the five elemental fists.
Chopping Fist, Drilling Fist, Crushing Fist, Exploding Fist and Crossing Fist.
Pī Quan, Zuān Quan, Bēng Quan, Pào Quan and Héng Quan.
Metal Fist, Water Fist, Wood Fist, Fire Fist and Earth Fist.
The first was like an axe chopping. the next drilled forward diagonally like waves crashing against one another. Then came the arrow shooting out directly. After which was the cannonball exploding out while covering Last his hands crossed the lines of attack and turned over.
Then he repeated the movements again. Then again. Then again.
Each step was using chicken stepping. The forward foot would grip the ground and pull him forward at which point his back foot would slide forward and become the leading foot. He kept practising falling into the movements completely, focusing on nothing but his practicing. As he did so he began to speed up, faster and faster. A faint, controlled, aura of red spiritual power began to exude from the focused martial artist’s form.
He continued his training no matter who entered.

Mr Li Yingeng,
I have heard rumours that you are one of the few users of the advanced Hakuda technique known as Shunkō. If I am correct such abilities are derived from the arcane techniques of Kidō.
If this is correct then I would make a request of you. I have a friend, an Officer of the Fourth Division, who is trying to become a better warrior. I have suggested that she try to find that which suits her best through experimentation, something I imagine would appeal to her as a Researcher. In truth she has little skill with blade or fists but she has a talent for Kidō.
I will not be telling her why I am sending you to her. Just that you are a martial artist who I would like her to meet. Test her and, if you are willing, please show her the art of Shunkō. It is a very new ability in the world of Shinigami compared to her long lifespan and I don’t believe she will have seen it before.
Her name is Zâbel Kohara. If you agree to this request please send a message back to the Second Division headquarters of a time and place.
Respectfully,
Unseated Officer Nagato Ishikawa
Second Division
