With this Mastery, I'm going with the "he was already at this level, so let me prove it" approach. Previous examples include the likes of Shinpei and Hazuki.
Which is why we start with Never Get Old, a scene that starts with something very common for Lucas and his father: Close combat practice. In it, we immediately see Lucas knock his old man on his wrinkly ass, despite a clear history of his father's great skill -- some feats are mentioned throughout the story -- due to his growing age.
Which sets us up for Lucas' first big fight: The battle with Amou. Mastery is the point at which something has become second nature, almost unconscious. I believe I've demonstrated this throughout that fight with not only how Lucas fights, but how he integrates his Hakuda so cleanly, smoothly, and naturally, with his other, less-refined skills.
For a First Mastery, I believe this is more than sufficient.

I think you know that 1 TBTP of short to moderate length, and 1 Fight is a little dubious for even a First Mastery. However, Pardon My Mess is both really good and really length with material for Hakuda. All things considered, this is "enough", but 'more than sufficient' is going too far.
The second-nature sort of approach to the skill is something I see evident in Lucas, and you bring that out consistently in the thread with Amou. You even managed to double back and tie off that thread nicely, despite your partner dropping! So, all in all...
