So many things had changed in her life that she was actually starting to become used to the occurrence. The thought was rather amusing to her considering that she was not much of a fan of drastic upheaval. She shook her head realizing that in a sense it was all due to an American, of all people. Standing before the small mirror on the wall in her bathroom, brushing out the tangled in her mat of bed hair, she thought back on the tall stranger from the United States. He had been the first if the Quincy she had ever encountered, and only one of two from the American Alliance that she was to meet. Calendrea had been newly returned to her birth city of Berlin after ten years of wandering without a home with her brother Bastian. Finally of an age where she was beyond the reach of child services, the two had come home and settled into a small apartment that was quite a cut above their usual lodgings. She had been focused, back then, upon establishing a legitimate life style, one in which she didn't have to run shade of the law ever again. A small chuckle issued from between her lips as she set the brush into her shower caddy on the back of the toilet for job hunting had been a colossal waste of time. Without legitimate forms of identification, she had swiftly realized how messed up her situation was while trying to fill out her very first application.
Life clearly had had other plans for the young Quincy, the subsequent hollow attack in the plaza of the Brandenburg Tor bringing her to the attention of Heir Muller and the world she had been running from. Recalling how ruffled her feathers had gotten that day, her fingers flew through the motions of dividing and plaiting her hair into two braids. It was quite juvenile how easily he was able to infuriate her, sparking a chain of events that would lead her back to the Father Land after a very circuitous journey over seas and back again. Flicking off the light switch to the bathroom as she exited the tiny room she had to wonder what ever became of the man and how his life had fared these last nine months.
Crossing through the main room of her suite in the Quincy Castle, she grabbed up her Chucks and sat on the small couch to slip them on. Today she was not clad in the uniform of The Order but rather her civilian garb. The planned outing was a long awaited 'me' day, the first she had managed to steal since taking on her new duties for The Crown. In her mind it was long overdue. She had been stealing away whenever she could manage to go running through Tiergarten Park and had formed a rather loose acquaintance there with some other parkour enthusiasts. It was with a certain sense of excitement that she left her rooms, exited the castle, and sped across the grounds employing Hirenkyakou to save time.
Releasing her use of the fast paced technique once she cleared the grounds, she left behind her thoughts of The Order, the growing threat of war between the Quincy and Shinigami and all the duties heaped upon her by the Sternritter Birith, and just focused upon meeting up with her new friends. A smile crossed her face, such an odd word for her to use; friends. It really didn't fit at all as that indicated some closer tie than existed between them or she was willing to cultivate; all in all it would do for lack of a more appropriate term for now. Today she was not headed toward the massive park, however, but to a training course that the local traceurs had shown to her. Berlin had quite a few localities that were set up with parkour in mind filled with walls and railing in multiple levels and configurations of obstacles to both challenge and hone their skills within and she had the locals to thank for showing her this one.
Upon arriving at her destination, she let her eyes range over the training course watching as a couple of 'friends' about her age worked out. She was not surprised that there were not more people using the place, at least not at that early hour of the day. Perhaps she should have taken advantage at not having to wake up at the crack of dawn after only a few hours of sleep, but she was of a mind to not sleep the time away when she could be out and away enjoying herself. Another perk was that by heading out as early as she had the chances of some emergency cropping up to ruin her plans grew significantly less. Moving forward to walk along the path to the entrance of the park, she occupied herself with some stretching exercises before beginning her own work out.
While it was true that she could use Hirenkyaku to enhance her workout, she preferred to keep her technique more pure without the aid of her abilities, at least out in public. After warming up with a run through of the course using strides along the railing, precision jumps along a series of knee walls and occasional rolls, she focused on repetitive executions of some Kong and Reverse Vaults. As the morning wore on she did notice that one of the trio of regulars as the course had failed to show. Taking a small break, Calendrea sipped from her water bottle while she and the guys exchanged tips and generally bragged about their exploits. As the banter went on she capped her water and began her goodbyes fending off their protests at her cutting out early. Explaining she had planned on visiting her brother after the work out, she laughed and told them to give Brian hell for ditching them next time they saw him.
Leaving from the course upon the opposite side from which she entered, she hadn't gotten too far before she stumbled across a pair of nearly brand new shoes. She would have recognized those black and gold Asics Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81s anywhere, for they belonged to the missing traceur. he had been bragging them up the last time they all got together, she had been terribly jealous. Although she now could afford to drop the cash on such a luxury item, she just hadn't managed the time or convinced herself to do so. "What the hell?", she murmured as she stooped to pick them up. No way in hell he would have let those shoes off his feet unless something horrible had happened.
