There was only silence filling the hallway as a tall young man walked forward, the black hood having been flipped down- and the tight black mask that covered the lower half of his face slowly being tugged down. There wasn't a single stir of his presence- reiatsu completely unknown to all but the greatest of masters of the art. He walked without a sound, as his padded feet met the ground repeatedly- his cold gaze remained calmly focused ahead of him even as he felt every presence stir about him when he passed. He was an unseated member, a nobody that purposely kept himself hidden away- very few knew of his actual abilities, he could count then on one hand.
However, that was the point- the fewer individuals that knew about him, the better, the easier it was for him to do his job. He was in the upper area's of the division for a single reason: he had requested an interview with their new Captain. The last had "disappeared", and he had not bothered with talking to any that had come before this woman. However- he had been weaker then, and less confident in his control as well as uncertain about his goals and desires. When it came to the last matter he was still uncertain, if he was being honest. But he had far more focus than he had originally- and to top it off, their new Captain was the former Commander.
It would be foolish not to at least introduce himself if nothing else.
But he had come with more than simple introductions on his mind, he was here to obtain a ranking- one that would be his first step to his next goals. He had sent a letter of basic introduction to her already, stating his name and rank- polite, and cut to the point with minimal access information about his person. He saw such things as pointless, instead- the introduction had been primarily a formality, one that was needed in order to get to the main body of his note- a request for an interview regarding a rise in ranking from an unseated member to someone that held a more recognizable ranking.
It went against his instincts in many ways- to have his name higher on the roster meant that he could potentially become a target, but the threat was minor, and more importantly, it would grant him access to greater recourses that he could use to improve himself that much further. As long as he was careful, no one would have information on him beyond his baseline level of power- and that alone was not a reason for him to worry or panic. There were chances of course that it would attract unwanted attention- but he had always been careful, he had no enemies in the ranks. He was quiet and kept to himself without bothering anyone.
He was not charismatic- but that was fine. He didn't lead through such idiotic things as emotions. Only through a demand for results, and to follow things through logically and tactfully in order to maximize the chances of success. Results spoke far louder than any charisma or "latent leadership ability". Allowing his gaze to the trail to the side briefly a the guards posted, he would halt and speak calmly, "Fujita Mako, Unseated," there would be a glance in his direction- before the man checked over the papers in his folder- and motioning him forward. "You're expected,"
Without a word Mako calmly stepped forward, knocking thrice against the wood- the sharp cracks of his knuckles against the wood echoed out in a perfectly spaced pattern- his hand would then lower, and he waited without a word, his eyes watching the door calmly, awaiting approval for his entry.
