Jack David Walker
Theme Song
Name: Jack David Walker
Date of Birth: August 7th, 1988
Age: 28
Ethnicity: Caucasian (American)
Profession: Bounty Hunter for FBI, Interpol, other police agencies globally
Height: 6’5” (1.96 Meters)
Weight: 235 lbs (106.6 Kilograms)
Hair and eyes:
Jack’s hair is brown, thick and bushy. He keeps it trimmed into military regulation, keeping the sides cut shorter, while the top grows out a little longer. He uses this to maintain a more professional look, as most of the contractors and employers he’s met will tend to favor someone who at least keeps a good grooming standard. With that also in mind, Jack will also keep his face shaven most of the time. The longest he’ll let it grow out is when he has wiry stubble that is clearly noticeable. His eyes are the same color as his hair, only slightly deeper in shade. There is an unspoken kindness that seems to emanate from them, which is probably due to Jack’s helping and protective nature.
Physical Description:
Jack is extremely large, his skin having tanned more since his time in the military. He has the typical look of an American warrior, his jaw square and strong, his body toned and muscled. His body is built extremely solid, having been hardened by years of physical training with various US Army units and other nations’ militaries. This makes Jack a more imposing figure, with his voice being a bass with the typical American accent that is hard to mask, especially when travelling abroad. However it is a soothing bass, something Jack isn’t afraid to use to try and calm someone down.
Scars and other Imperfections:
Jack’s body has a few scars to show he’s been in a few scraps. There are a few pock marks of raised and slightly lighter colored skin across his body in areas where he’s been shot, most of them having a matching mark on the other side of his body. However there’s one mark on his left pectoral that runs six inches long, and is about two inches wide. He earned that scar in his first deployment during combat, when an enemy pulled a knife on him during a firefight. To this day it always reminds him that it doesn’t matter how strong someone is, no one is invincible.
Clothes and Gear:
Jack’s civilian clothes are very simple. He goes back to the country boy style that he’s very proud of, with plain shirts, or plaid button up shirts, with denim jeans, and some hiking shoes. As for jewelry or other items, he keeps it spartan, with his trusty analog G-Shock in OCP camo pattern, and MUT Leatherman sitting on his left hip, because you never know when something will need fixing. When Jack decides to utilize his concealed carry, he’ll keep his silver and black P320 in a hidden holster at the small of his back, with a cheap leather jacket to conceal it. And you’ll never find him without his identification tags around his neck, along with his Mekkakyu next to the tags themselves.
When Jack “suits up” to take on a job or head into combat, his gear is varied for each and every situation. Most of the time Jack will start with black combat pants with knee pads, 5.11 Tactical combat boots, and a combat top to match made of cotton and nylon to keep him cooler in full kit. On his face and head he’ll either wear green and black alternating stripes face paint, or a balaclava with a single hole for the eyes. He will also wear a set of Oakley ballistic glasses that double as shades, and a FAST helmet with radio ear muffs attached. For body armor Jack has a plate carrier with SAPI ballistic plates, backed by kevlar to help absorb shock and shrapnel, elbow pads, and a set of Oakley SI Assault gloves. For weapons he’ll always have his Sig Sauer P320 on his left hip, and a sawn off double barrel on his right hip. A combat belt holds spare magazines and shells for his sidearms, while his vest will carry an assortment of magazines and grenades for his primary weapons. His IFAK will located on his combat belt at his back, mainly so that if he goes down, someone can easily reach it and start working on his quickly. For longer missions, Jack will take with him a black assault pack that he’ll fill with extra ammo, MRE’s and other necessary gear.
Spiritual Description:
Jack’s Spiritual aura about him has the color of white gold and radiates like an aura borealis from himself. When Jack isn’t focusing on controlling it (which for now is most of the time) it will radiate out to the immediate area as raw and uncontrolled. It’s feeling is a sense of calm, warmth, reassurance, and generally soothing. When exerted, this feeling will turn energetic, giving a feeling of urgency, heat, courage and valor. In essence it gives encouragement to friends to fight on, even if the situation seems dire.
Personality:
Jack is a warrior at heart, someone who feels compelled to fight and defend others from harm. This is at his very core who he is, knowing that he must train physically, mentally, and spiritually to make himself the perfect weapon those who would seek to harm the innocent.
Jack is unrelenting in this pursuit, pursuing all aspects of this to attempt to help others. The key point of difference for Jack between a soldier and a warrior, is that while a soldier just follows orders and will think very little for themselves, a warrior will actively participate in all matters of helping and defending others. This ranges from him volunteering to help build something to help the underprivileged, such as schools or homes, to fighting on a battlefield so others don’t have to. This drive is central to his psyche.
Where Jack first started to have this as just trying to do good things for others, such as donations and volunteering time, the horrors of war he’s witnessed first hand while deployed has changed that. He’s gone from seeing people need help, to there is evil in this world that needs to be put down. And while this hasn’t changed that he still donates to causes he finds worthwhile, he now more than ever will focus on trying to make himself better to fight whatever enemy presents itself. He must be able to find, pursue and kill whatever enemy presents itself to keep people safe. That is his mission in life, what gives him purpose. Combined with an iron will, it makes him extremely hard, but not impossible, to break. The reason he feels this way being that Jack is afraid. Jack is afraid of losing. He’s afraid of putting everything he has into a problem, or a fight, and it not being enough. He’s afraid of losing someone, or someone getting hurt and it being his fault. He’s terrified of the thought of having innocent blood on his hands, and no way to justify it. And to him, failing to act, is as great of a sin as being wrong. He’s scared that when it’s do or die time, and everything is counting on him succeeding, he’ll make a mistake. He’ll fall short. And that there’s nothing he can do about it.
In his more personal life, Jack makes acquaintances easily, but has few friends. He likes to read books, both literature and textbooks, to pass the time when he’s bored, but otherwise isn’t against going to social gatherings. He still has several of the Rangers in his old battalion saved to his personal contacts, and they talk and party on occasion. As far as he’s concerned though, once you’re Jack’s friend, you’re family. He’ll give you the shirt off his back, and be willing to go through hell and back to get you out of trouble. There’s no telling how far Jack would go for one his friends, and he does his best to always stay just a phone call away, no matter what he’s doing.
One slightly weird piece of Jack’s personality is that he doesn’t drink, smoke, or chew tobacco. Never did on account of all the negative stigmas he saw as a kid with his parents and relatives who did any or all of those things. One of his main vices is good food and sports. He will always be keeping track of his favorite american football and basketball teams. He loves the competition, how pure it is to him, and how the athletes push themselves to the peak of human physical ability. He also loves the science behind the games, always reading up on predictions for games and how coaches and trainers attempt to keep their players in peak condition. He’ll often go to sports bars or any place with a game on just to watch, ordering large portions of food because of his size and often how long he stays.
Personality Traits
Logical:
Jack has a more weird way of looking at most situations. When attacking a problem he completely cuts off his emotions, looking instead to find the most effective and efficient way to fix the problem. Being taught this trait in college, it was something that helped Jack excel in Sniper School, allowing him to focus on the issue totally despite any external factors preying on his emotions. As such Jack will always attempt to find the logical solution to something first, before resorting to anger and whatever weapon is at his disposal.
Impatient:
Despite the unofficial motto of the US Army “Hurry up and Wait”, Jack never learned patience when it came to anything he saw as unnecessary. The fastest way to earn his ire is to tell him to sit down and wait for someone to finish something that seems trivial with no explanation. He does his best to hide his frustration at this, but most of the time it just ends with him gritting his teeth. The only time Jack will wait is when performing a task himself that requires him to strike or perform something at a crucial moment. But then he doesn’t see it as waiting, but more of actively observing an issue for the perfect time to apply the solution. Like a sniper waiting for an opening on a target.
Determined:
Jack learned one thing throughout his life, first in his childhood and later on in the Army. If you want something, you gotta fight for it, and when someone knocks you on your back, you have to get up and keep fighting. As a US Army Ranger, Jack has had much experience in how far a human being can push themselves with an iron will. He is willing to push himself above and beyond the normal limits of his body, knowing that if he wants something more than the other guy, Jack is bound to get it.
Brash:
Jack has made more than a few enemies because he’s not afraid of anyone. He sees everyone as equals and will tell someone straight to their face, in front of whomever, they’re wrong if he believes it. This has gotten him into trouble in the Army, and what ultimately got him discharged. If he knows that you’re making a mistake or trying to push your own ego, he’s not only going to say something, it’s going to be anything but quiet.
Compassionate:
Coming from the US Army, Jack has had plenty of experiences with men who were a brotherhood, and he carries it with him. He is more than willing to help others in any way he can, especially if it seems like he’s the only one willing to stop and help them. He looks at it as his way of making the world a better place, one good deed at a time. He does his best to be a helping hand, a listening ear, and a supporting shoulder when need be. He sees it as a personal duty to others, and one he’s more than happy to do.
Stubborn:
It takes a lot to talk down Jack from doing something he’s set his mind to, even if the arguments are logical. When it comes to things Jack considers important, he is rigged and unflinching when it comes to change. Once he digs in his heels he just won’t know when to give up, and without an overwhelmingly logic based argument he won’t back down.
Loyal:
One of the key tenets of the Army is Loyalty, something Jack is very familiar with. He will above all, always stay loyal to his friends. His number one rule for operations is “No one gets left behind, dead or alive. One way or the other everyone goes home,”. Being a Ranger takes it to new levels with Jack as he’ll push his body past normal limits for himself, and he’ll push it even further for a brother in arms.
Headstrong:
Jack isn’t afraid to march out on his own decisions. If he sees an opportunity or a need, he’ll go after it regardless of whether or not he has help. As a warrior he sees this not as a fault, but a duty that he must do everything he can to stand against wrong in the world, even if he’s alone. This can be dangerous for him as he won’t back down from a fight no matter how much the odds are stacked against him. And it only gets worse if someone stands to get hurt if he does nothing.
Tactical:
Jack’s mind is almost like a game of chess. He’s looking at every situation tactically, looking at the pros and cons of different moves. And when he’s got an objective, it intensifies this ten fold as he’ll constantly be working out which way is the best way to deal with problems and people. On the battlefield Jack can quickly deduce the situation of a fight and can then direct people to not only make the best of the situation, but ultimately turn the tide of the fight. He’s learned to do this while fighting up close as well, his combatives instructors emphasizing to strike strategically on the human body to maximize damage and minimize energy spent.
Spirit Weapon:
With Jack’s certainly strange case of discovering his Quincy abilities so late in his life, his weapon certainly is no different. His ability to channel reishi particles allows him to utilize most weapons against hollows as instead of using bullets, he’ll make blasts of reishi energy to harm his spiritual opponents. But his true spirit weapon is a Swiss Saber with a matching Sig Sauer P320.
Jack’s Saber is the foundation of his spirit weapon, using as a traditional melee weapon to great effect up close. However when he focuses his rei through the weapon he can arc blasts of rei from the sword with powerful swings from the blade. Using this he can effectively strike both up close and relatively short amount of distance away before these attacks are both negated by the amount of rei Jack must draw upon being too great.
Which is where the Sig Sauer pistol comes into play. Jack uses the pistol to fire at opponents both up close and far away with much more concentrated blasts of rei. He uses this to keep his targets at close range on their toes as while it’s not near as effective up close as Jack’s sword in delivering damage, it is still a formidable weapon. And at range the shots definitely a hazard to Jack’s enemies as he can fire them at most ranges with impunity as the concentrated nature of the rei allows for little to no loss over range.
Jack does have a family bow, it’s design being relatively simple and very strong. It’s inspiration derives from compound hunting bows used modernly in the United States. The limbs of the bow are extremely thick, with two metal plates protecting the limbs and string. Being larger, it’s thick limbs allow for it to be used in close quarters combat as a melee weapon as well, effectively being able to block and strike with a trained user. Due to it’s size and high draw power, it is supposed to take a new user time to learn, normally being overseen by the family’s previous and most recent warrior.
Quincy Cross:
Jack’s quincy cross is a seemingly simple Christian cross made of Cherry Wood. However one will find that this cross has no imperfections to speak of anywhere. Even normal wear and tear that one would find on a cross as old as it is, is nowhere to be found. This is because the cross is imbued with reishi which is woven in, never allowing the cross to decay or otherwise receive any damage. While being originally on a simple string, Jack wears this cross with his identification tags across his neck.
When Jack is in combat and finally unleashes his spirit weapon, the cross will glow with a bright light before becoming his first incarnation of his spirit weapon. The cherry wood handle of the Swiss saber being where the cross resides.
Schrift
K - The Knight
Jack’s inner schrift is something that he’s unknowingly been passed on from generation to generation of his family line. That line being that they originally came from a disgraced house of Knights in England on his father’s side. Jack has a will to fight and protect others ingrained in his genes that even he doesn’t know why he does it, other than it feels right. As such his powers are fueled most when others are in dire need before them, and they need a powerful warrior to stand where others can’t. To fight for the weak, and only allow him to die when they are safe.
First Manifestation
Jack’s first manifestation of Shrift will allow him to create his family’s ancient armor from the reishi around him. It weighs nothing and gives Jack added protection from attacks.

The Early Years (Birth to 10 yrs old)
Jack was born to his parents, Erin and William Walker in the small town of Concordia KS. He grew up on the farm as a toddler, being taught by father and uncles alike how to shoot with family guns, and generally being cared for as a typical toddler. Jack’s father however would have disagreements with his mother’s side of the family, wanting to make Jack the next in line for receiving the family Cross. While most would consider such a gift an honor Jack’s father wouldn’t have it, knowing full well what it entailed. William had fought hard to make sure his sons and daughters would have a normal life, and he’d be damned if they ruined that. This would lead to fights between the parents, Jack most of the time being spirited away so he didn’t have to see it, until the fateful day his father left. William begged Jack to come with him with tears in his eyes, but Jack was frozen in fear not understanding what was going on. His mother would make William leave, and then left Jack downstairs as she went to go cry alone. This left Jack very confused, scared, and alone. He didn’t know what to do, all he knew from that day on he didn’t like whatever had caused that.
Finally Jack would go to preschool at the age of four, starting off badly as the other kids were afraid of him because of his size. Being already a full head taller than everyone else kept everyone away from him, except for one person. A little kid born with arthritis would walk right up to Jack, and immediately ask to play with him. His name was Blake, and Jack immediately took a liking to him as they played being firefighters. The two were inseparable ever since, Jack being largely protective of Blake as he seemed to be his one true friend. He’d go through grade school with him until Jack moved away to a smaller town. Here again he’d have to go through all the growing pains of getting new friends, and trying his best to blend in.
The Teens (10 through 19 years old)
Jack would make a few friends here and there, and by the time he was in middle school he’d have a close circle. It would be one fateful Tuesday at school when Jack would see on the television what would change his life. The September 11 attacks rocked the world of the school, Jack’s own teacher going pale and fainting in disbelief. He saw the sadness and utter rage that followed, including his principle chucking a computer through the window. He’d remember seeing this kind of emotion before, when he was little. The day his dad left. He couldn’t help but think that it had to be this that caused so much suffering. Jack swore he’d do something to stop it, something to make people stop hurting each other so much. He didn’t know what it was, but he’d find the answer.
Jack would continue through grade school with few issues but it would be in middle school where things started getting better. Jack started playing for the football team, going in as a offensive and defensive lineman loving every second he was playing. He loved the grit of it, the competition, the fact that he got to take out his built up rage on people (in a controlled setting of course) and then being friends with them all over again. Coaches began to see his natural leadership tendencies as he began to encourage his teammates, and start doing practice on his own. He went to strength training on the weekends and summers to make himself stronger, faster, and better. Going into high school Jack would excel with his studies, not partying like his classmates. And he would excel at football. Jack began leading the team to victories, and his Junior year he lead the team into its first playoff run in a decade.
It was also when he would discover that he’d see bright flashes every now and then, sometimes thinking he imagined seeing someone. He ignored the sights, instead focusing on football. During the end of his junior year he had his first kiss, surprisingly with another guy on the football team. The two kept it a secret though, not wanting to be ostracized by the town so they waited until college to pursue the relationship. At the end of his senior year Jack graduated with a state championship title ring and a full ride scholarship to Kansas State University. While he was celebrating at his graduation party, Jack’s grandmother would finally give Jack his Quincy cross. Jack accepted it without a second thought, not knowing what it was, or what meaning it had entailed to it. Later that night Jack would finally lose his virginity to his boyfriend, making him realize that he really was bisexual, and he feared what telling his family would bring. Jack would be into his first year of college when he finally came out to his family over a holiday break. The news couldn’t have been taken any worse. First they threatened Jack and then his boyfriend at the time, and in a fit of rage Jack started a fist fight with all of them. The house being trashed Jack was disowned by the family, and he didn’t bother giving the cross back as he left. Two days later he would sign up for the Army to get him away from them, getting a sizeable bonus to ship out in under a week.
Jack’s military career (19 through present day)
Jack would go to reception with the rest of the recruits at Fort Benning Georgia. It would be there that Jack would get his first taste of the Army. Ten days later and he rode the fateful bus taking him to his training company, Delta Company 1st Battalion/50th Infantry. It was here that he was taught the discipline he would need to become an Infantryman in the US Army. The training was rough, but Jack would prove he was more than up to the challenge, qualifying expert on the rifle range and scoring a two-forty on his physical fitness test by the second one. He would be promoted by the senior drill sergeant of his platoon to squad leader, being in charge of 3rd Squad in 4th Platoon. His squad earned a nickname “The Articles” being that before he’d been put in charge, of the seven Article 15s served to fourth platoon, five belonged to his squad. Jack put a change to that, getting his squad under control and then proving them to be the most capable squad in the whole company. When he finally got assigned his first duty station on graduation his drill sergeant would shake his hand and tell him he hoped they met again.
Jack would take his first assignment with zeal, taking to it enthusiastically with every task assigned to him. He would get rank up to specialist quickly, being put down as a Infantryman in 1st Platoon. He would follow 3rd Cavalry in its deployment to Iraq. Jack’s Platoon was actually stationed in Mosul, regularly making contact with enemy insurgents on patrols, and performing search and destroy operations day in and out. Seeing as what they were doing was just damage control and not really making a huge difference, Jack would sign up for Ranger School. He earned his Ranger tab just before his re-enlistment and would immediately go to selection.
With his spot earned in Ranger Regiment, Jack would get assigned to a Ranger Company as an AT gunner with 1st squad. Jack would then start signing up for every school that he could, going to Jump school, Air Assault, Sniper School, and Sapper school. He would have gone to SF selection but he deployed with Ranger Regiment to Syria before he had the chance. His units would be in the tip of the spear of Ranger Regiment, their mission to destroy any weapons of mass destruction being used in the Syrian Civil War. It was here that Jack would see first hand the horrors of war, with buildings being bombed out, civilian bodies being stacked up as dead were counted, and fires burning everywhere. Jack would learn to hate the enemy’s treatment of non-combatants. He resolved that he had to do whatever he could to help, something put to the test when a fellow Ranger was going to rape a local woman. Jack caught the man and broke his jaw before being restrained by other squadmates who heard the commotion. The Ranger he’d caught was immediately court-martialed and dishonorably discharged, but the damage had been done. Jack had the seeds planted in him that even those who claimed to be the best, could be just as evil as the enemy he swore to protect these people against. Jack would continue fighting with the men as they pushed further into Syria. As the fighting got more and more intense, Jack could almost feel a darker presence nearby, but just wrote it off as nerves.
Jack would find out what that presence was as his platoon was doing a search and destroy operation, and their lead Striker was attacked by a hollow. It tore the hull apart like it was made of newspaper, and Jack witnessed as it quickly devoured the screaming men inside. It would get to second squad’s Striker before Jack opened fire on the hollow, vainly attempting to hurt it. Seeing the bullets did nothing, Jack pulled out the Carl Gustav recoiless rifle, and fired a single round into the hollow’s torso. Surprisingly it detonated, but still didn’t do anything but get the hollow’s attention. It turned to Jack and was about to attack when Jack’s cross, now on his identification tags, began to glow brightly. It leaped at him as Jack somehow formed his spirit weapon, a Swiss saber. Jack did what came naturally and impaled the hollow on the blade, before planting it into the ground and repeatedly stabbing the hollow to death. With the situation in hand the remainder of Jack’s platoon would get pulled from the front and sit out the rest of the deployment.
When Jack got back to the states he was changed from the experience. Where once he had a zeal to serve in the army, he was faced with something he’d never seen before. And none of the remaining men in his squad could provide answers as to why. Jack would start having disagreements with his replacement platoon sergeant, and before long outright called the man out as a kiss ass to higher in front of the platoon. First sergeant would take Jack aside to cool him off, and since his time to either enlist or EAS came up, Jack just decided to get out. He was given an honorable discharge and immediately went back to college to finish his degrees. This time he stayed away from Kansas though, instead going to Purdue to quietly get his degrees in engineering. But he was still unsatisfied.
Engineering had its perks but Jack still missed the rush he got from being a soldier. The comradery. The training was hit or miss on what he missed but he missed it anyway. But most of all that memory would haunt him. The day they’d been ambushed, and Jack hadn’t been able to protect all of his brothers. Jack would take up bounty hunting first for FBI, and then later take jobs from Interpol as he decided he needed to make a difference his way. Finding the bad people and getting rid of them. But he always kept an eye out for any information he could find on his abilities. Surprisingly there was no information through any official channels, but Jack kept looking. He knew that one day his chance would come. And he’d need to be ready.
