Erek had been searching for possible sparring partners, and in general- individuals in his range of power that could help him grow steadily. He had plenty of combat experience, but his experience in the spiritual arts, and battles against spiritual entities in general- was immensely limited. The more he could train with others, the greater his experience would grow- and from that experience, he could apply understanding and begin developing tactics in combat to deal with his opponents. The Hollow were one thing, but apparently, these "Shinigami" were just as bad, and they had far more humanoid appearances, intellect, as well as spells and powers all their own unique to themselves.
At this point the mission was simple: become stronger.
However he did that, it didn't matter as long as it was earned through blood, sweat, and tears. For this reason he'd begun to ask around about any "new recruits" that were around the same area of power as himself, he'd been given a couple answers- the immediate one had been Leon, but after a bit more prodding apparently there was another, someone who had also been sent to Rick as he had. The man's name was "Dresden", and judging by his surname- he was of German decent. He was apparently far more knowledgeable than him in Quincy combat and abilities- but that was fine, as long as their base levels of power were similar, that was the whole point of sparring.
If the man was a pushover that would completely negate the point of the exercise. With this information, he had asked around where he may find the man, and with no obvious answer had decided to do the most direct thing that was still relatively polite, instead of say, showing up at the residence registered in the order. Instead, he'd sent a message to the man, the letter had been simple and to the point- offering his name, summary of his situation as a "Newly Awakened Quincy", and a simple request for training with the man so that he could get a better grasp on his Quincy Powers.
Should he accept, the note had left the location of simply using one of the many combat training rooms that the Quincy Order's local hub had, specifically the eastern room, "E-6", which was the best he could get. It wasn't as though either of them needed a great massive combat range in order to train after all. Instead, Erek would be calmly waiting, sitting in one of the chair's that decorated the entrance hall into the training rooms while he pondered if the man would show up or not. Fingers lightly intertwined as he rested his forearms on his knee's, hawklike eyes glancing around the room every few minutes to ensure his current escape routes were still free.
An old habit he'd picked up, and never saw a reason to break himself out of. Still, at the least it kept his mind occupied while he waited to see if the young man intended to come and meet him- he couldn't really go over what he intended to do in combat because really, he wasn't entirely sure. It would likely be reactionary based- according to Mei, the use of his abilities would come with instinct, and until he learned to memorize the sensation itself, he would be limited in what exactly he was going to be able to do with his energy and the "reishi" around him.
