Somehow he’d managed to get away from the arrancar that he’d run into. To think that a being of that strength would be skulking around in the world of the living, it was frightful to think about. To make matters worse, there was the possibility that the arrancar’s ring went even further than Raph thought. This was something that he’d have to bring up in the meeting… Assuming that nothing happened that might prevent him from doing so. He was part of a group, shouldn’t he have tried to find some way to alert them?! Not that it mattered now. It was gone.
Something was bugging him, almost as if there was something he was forgetting or someone was aggravating him, or he’d forgotten who’d been aggravating him. He felt just a bit annoyed, and that was getting worse every second. But why? Nothing had happened! Why did he feel angry? He put it out of his mind and kept making his way towards the castle.
Someone bumped into him, and he turned back at the man. “You wanna apologize?”
“What?” the man asked as he turned to Raph a little confused. Raph walked up to the man and lifted him by his shirt.
“Let me repeat myself: You wanna apologize for bumping into me?!” He’d raised his voice and some people had begun taking notice, though most appeared to be hurrying along. Raph was practically snarling at the man, as well as shooting the death stare to anyone that stopped to look for too long. He kept staring into the eyes of the man that he held in the air, while the man’s lady friend beat uselessly against Raph’s arm.
He heard people muttering about the altercation as they passed. One or two people he knew would call the police and as he stared further into the man’s eyes, so full of fear, Raph couldn’t help but realize that what he was doing was wrong. Slowly he lowered the man and put his feet on the ground.
“You have my apologies,” Raph muttered to the man. “I just started a stressful job recently. I was hoping that this trip would help me relax but it hasn’t.”
The man’s emotions were a mix of anger and fear, though fear dominated over anger. “D-Don’t worry about it,” the man said laughing awkwardly. “I understand the stresses of a new job. No harm no foul, yeah?” The man extended his hand, which Raph shook vigorously. Still something was bothering him, but it wasn’t until he quieted his mind that he realized what: hollows.
There was one, at least, he could sense that much, but he would have to be careful. Where there was one it was possible to be more. He waited for the hollow on the edge of a building. Near the edge of the town. He could sense it, not too far in front of him. He couldn’t risk it attacking the town.
He reached out to the wilderness around the city and with a swift raise of his palm, his power would surge. Several trees around the hollow would explode like glass and come crashing down, and pillars of stone would raise suddenly from the ground. This was the shock and awe. The beginning. There would be more, but this was just the brunt of the storm.
