The sun’s rays shimmered through the library windows and touched upon the golden locks of the young Queen sitting at a desk. Piles of paper stacked high on the right side and on the left boxes of neat papers inside of the ones she reviewed and stamped. It had been a long week of nothing but sitting in front of the desk making sure new recruits were filed, castle security and infractures, and keeping tabs on the treasury income. She hated having to do this but if she wanted to learn how to manage things she would have to take it upon herself to learn the experience of work. Leaning back against the chair, Freyleif stretched out her legs and arms before rubbing her tired eyes. One of the librarians came up and demanded she take a rest and took it upon himself to finish the paperwork; after all, the Queen was soon to have children.
“Your health is more important, let me take it from here. Please, your Majesty, don’t over stress.” the man said calmly in speaking her native tongue.
Her back was hurting like a bitch and replied, “Fine, fine, fine just make sure to report everything to me once you’re done.” she stood up with a yawn.
“Of course!” the man quickly took to the seat and was right to work after the Queen moved away from the desk. It was nice to have such caring and reliable Quincy in her stead.
As she walked through the short hall to the entrance to get some fresh air, Freyleif wondered how Aodh and Ame were doing on their trip to Egypt. Hopefully, they didn’t run into too much trouble with the locals or worse: eaten by a hollow with the nasty plague rumors. She just had to trust her Sternritters for the time being and not get so worked up losing her friends. Putting those worrying thoughts aside the young Queen headed out towards the front entrance of the castle and traveled down the road to admire the trees; though she wished to be back in her hometown, but she decided to stay in Germany and take over Weylin's castle in respects of taking care of the place and hearing the rumours that Germany was the place of origin for Quincy before spreading out their arts and bloodline.
It was nice to get out with the clear weather, the smell of forestry surrounding the castle, and birds chirping in the birdbath in the garden she walked past. Today seemed peaceful enough to just relax and stretch out her legs even breathe in the fresh morning air. She found a random patch of grass to lay out on the road just a few ways from the castle and decided to get her feet free from the confines of her knee high black boots and removed her fur-trimmed mantle then folded it up to lay her head on.
Lacing her fingers behind her head, the Queen closed her eyes and let the sound of nature help her drift off to a restful sleep. Well until something in the back of her mind aroused her back awake. Not far ahead she picked up the signature of another coming close up the road and slowly opened one eye then the other lazily. She lifted her head up just enough to peek at the signature heading her way as she laid out near the curve; one might easily spot her snuggled by the trees with the sun giving spotlight. Groaning in the effort, the lil Queen pushed herself upright and watched the figure, now man, coming into sight and waved him over with a grin upon her lips and no guards watching her.
