A sparkling light came to the young Queen’s eyes as Erek accepted the stay at the castle. Her gaze lingered on him with that tired looking smile accompanying her facial expression. Brushing aside her long hair from getting in her face and food she replied, “That’s great, one of the maids will escort you to the room.” of course she noticed the shifts of looks the maid was giving Erek and the woman did her best to hide it from the Queen. Frey finally had some time to dig in her food before looking at Erek as he spoke once more.
“Ah, yes, we have a library but you need access - which I’ll grant you.” she said finishing up her food and stacked up her plates for the maids before standing up. She covered her mouth giving a yawn before letting the maids help pull back the chair and walk ahead gesturing for Erek to follow. The walk would take a bit longer as she lead him through the corridors and down a spiral set of stairs leading to the basement. She took out a security card with the number three on it and then swiped it through the keyholder of the door before them.
“I’m sure you can understand even a castle would have its own security,” she said in jest and elbowed his side playfully before stepping through the door after opening it. “I’ll have some extra ones sent to you while you read. I normally carry spares but I didn’t think I’d have another guest over.” she giggled and lead him through the hall towards the large double doors ahead where two guards stood.
“Your Majesty you look tired.” the guard on the right noticed right away in the Queen’s condition. He gave a frown as she waved him off his concern and proceed to take another card out and swipe it through the level five key holder.
As they stepped in, the library was nothing to joke about; with wood and golden trimmed shelves stacking high towards the high ceiling enough for a dragon to snuggle in. The room seemed to have some revelations with half finished western dragon relief on the far wall end of the maze of shelves and special made mahogany desk for the Queen to lounge around and a purple embroidery furniture chair. Even the windows were tall enough for the sun to shine in where needed but the tapestry held them closed for the time being, and the only light source were the candelabras and a fire place just behind the desk. That wasn’t the only desk in the room, of course, many other places had long benches or chairs to sit and an area of desks one could work on papers or the like.
“Welcome to Nidhogg's Library!” Freyleif flourished her hands out as they walked down the red carpet and grinned rather proud of this library. “Anyway, here you’ll find all sorts of Quincy knowledge to your heart’s delight and until your brain can’t take anymore.” a giggle followed. “I should head to bed now I hope you don’t get lost in this maze and be careful of the construction.”
