It was after the trips to Berlin, after his lessons, after much of what he had worked with-- and to say he was tired, wouldn't be innacurate. Then again, saying he was dissatisfied with his progress wouldn't be accurate either, he had learned a large amount in an incredibly short time-- but now there was an ugly problem raising its head. Freyleif. The girl had lost her children, and he had little doubt that she needed him there. But he also knew that he didn't know what to tell the girl. He could storm in, and try to talk to her-- but what was the reaction he'd get? Would it even do any good?
She needed time-- even if she was broken, knowing how emotional the girl was no matter what logic he tried to use, the girl wouldn't listen to him if she was too far gone. For now, he needed to wait, and after some time had passed, enough for her to slip from anger into something more passive-- and likely, darker-- he would return to her and do what he could to help her stand back on her own two feet. In the meantime, there was only one thing he could really do: improve himself as best he could. In this case, it meant that he was actively hunting down Hollow in one of the spiritually richest areas he knew of-- Karakura. There were plenty that popped their ugly heads up here, and someone needed to start doing more active patrols.
Rick had his shop but he tended to have a more laid-back approach about it all from what he'd seen, that wasn't a bad thing-- but it didn't suit his own personal tastes. He was more of a man of action-- and hunting the Hollow down was certainly something that could be considered that if nothing else. Shifting his grip lightly on the cup of coffee he held in his canteen, he reached out as best he could, but his sensory was, sadly, still lacking. He needed to work on it but his other skills had become a much higher focus for him as of late-- specifically focusing on his blut and basic reishi control, thankfully Frey had been a tremendous help in those areas.
Though, what good those would do him if he couldn't find one of the damn beasts-- he wasn't entirely certain. Letting out a slight sigh, he would shift his footing a bit before his gaze would trail on the areas around him-- he was standing on the main street, and it was relatively late at night. He couldn't sense-- as if that meant much-- or see, any wandering souls that would act as bait for the beasts. But it was possible that there were other spiritually aware people walking around that were the perfect meal for them.
Erek always had this dilemma. He felt as if he went to bed someone was going to lose their lives in the area, that wouldn't if he had just stayed out a bit longer. It was bound to happen, and logically he knew he couldn't save everyone, but it was an unpleasant feeling to have to scrape at the inside of one's mind when you were trying to lay down and sleep. He had enough issues trying to fall into the embrace of slumber without even more guilt weighing down on his mind.
A sight left his lips, giving a final glance around him to make sure it was clear-- perhaps he'd head back. He may be worrying about things for no reason.
