Yui knew that she was what they called a ‘glass cannon’. She was strong and quite fast, but she was not very durable and her Kidou skill was extremely lacking, but that was what made things like this more fun. She could play to her strengths and avoid her weaknesses, relying on her skill to dodge and strike hard to end most fights quickly. But this was a test of skill, not an assassination, which was why she was holding back a bit thus far. Her skill with Zanjutsu was lacking, and she knew it, and she had to resist multiple times not to resort partially on hand to hand, but this was what they were doing now, and that was going to be until they decided and agreed otherwise.
No time like the present to practice a skill and try to bring it up to par.
The blow she threw first was blocked, and she had to say that his strength was pretty good, and his senses were sharp, both of which good signs. As a counter, he used his own flash step and copied her own tactics against her, and even as she leapt into the air to dodge, spinning around, she noticed that he was holding the weapon with both hands, which made sense with the larger weapon. Once the blade had passed, Yui used her height advantage for the moment to bring her blade downward towards his skull, trying to go for a critical strike. If her guess was right, he would block again, relying on his strength over his speed to handle the blow… but that would be up to him. Yui’s own smile was gone…
She was hyper focused, and she got this way when combat was under way, much like her spiritual pressure, all emotions slipping away from her. It only happened when she was taking it seriously, which she was at the moment, but her eyes were trained, locked onto his form and looking for openings and weaknesses in which to exploit. She would continuously look while watching his form, noting how he moved this way and that and his style of sword play. Maybe she could pick up some tips and incorporate it into her own style, expanding her capabilities further. The better she armed herself against her opponent, the more likely victory would become, and right now, this was a test of her skill and power, one of the few things she took seriously in this world.
