Her second mission into the Human World, but now she was much closer to the epicenter of the action, in Tokyo, Japan. Yui’s first trip to the land of the living was extremely insightful, and she had learned leagues about things that she had absolutely no clue about before. She had hoped that 4th Seat Alexander would have been able to escort her again, but he was a busy man, and as such, she had been assigned an Unseated member to go with her this time. This guy was barely stronger than she herself was, and she was pretty sure she could take him in one on one combat, but this was his eighth mission to the human world, and as such, he knew more about what to do and when to do it. In respect of that knowledge, she didn’t challenge his position on the mission, and would follow his instructions to make sure that they were successful. It was just another random patrol, but this time there were more factors to take into account. Hollows were everywhere, but that wasn’t what she needed to worry about, but instead the Quincy’s and other empowered races that all seemed to centralize around this area. Things had been getting tense with the faction of bow and arrow users, and it wasn’t unheard of for them to attack Shinigami for one reason or another.
But this was what he Captain had been talking about when it came to Risk. She didn’t have a set goal for this mission, and her rules of engagement were to leave the Quincy alone unless they attacked her first, which she would abide by. But that added factor made it to where her simply running around taking out Hollow and doing whatever jobs her escort saw fit had an added layer of caution she had to take because she had an enemy that wasn’t quite an enemy yet. It was weird and strange, but hopefully wouldn’t be that big of an issue. With any luck, they would avoid the Quincy all together, and not worry about that possible aspect, but the risk was there, and it made things infinitely more interesting. All of Yui’s senses were on fire as they ran along rooftops, looking around the city for possible targets. They had already dispatched two Hollow, and finding another wouldn’t be that difficult… this place seemed to be littered with targets. Hell, there was another one now.
A weird scorpion type Hollow, this one was going after a Plus Soul of a businessman that was taking off down the side-streets. She turned towards her escort for orders, and he simply nodded, giving her leave to dispatch the target. She had talked with him about it before they left; she wanted to engage the targets alone if possible, do her level best to take them out without help. He would jump in if he needed to, but that was all, and this small fry was nothing to worry too much about. “I’ll take the Hollow then if you could perform the Soul Burial.” He nodded in agreement, and then with a silent Shunpo, she intercepted the creature and punched it straight in the eye, forcing it to abandon the chase for the moment and deal with her instead. Moments later she could hear the Soul Burial being performed, which would put her partner in an observational status. A claw came down from the right, which she backflipped over and landed on top of, drawing her reverse bladed Wakizashi, but before she could make another attack, a deadly tail slash came down, forcing her backwards. The peripheral of her senses warned her that something was happening behind the Hollow on the other side, but it was out of Yui’s line of sight, and she didn’t have time to get a bead on it, but her partner seemed to notice and was moving, knowing that Yui had this one handled.
Another swipe of the claw tore into the street and this time the little purple ninja was ready, and she slid under it and jumped upwards, bringing her blade straight up and through the mask cleanly, causing it to split into two and begin to disappear… but that was when she saw it. A bright flash of energy heading straight for her from the other side of the Hollow, and she didn’t have time to dodge or deflect the arrow because of her committed attack against the creature. Yui knew that this was going to hurt, if not kill her outright, as it was heading straight for her chest, when a shadow came through her field of vision, and her escort took the arrow to his upper right chest. The impact had his body flinging into the comparably tiny Yui, and she did her best to catch him and soften the fall, cratering into a trashcan that was nearby. He was still alive.. good… but she needed to deal with this. Violet eyes turned upwards as she drove her blade into her stomach.
“Claw, Shiva…”
And the blade disappeared. With a silent Shunpo, she was on the roof, fists clenched, long purple hair dancing in the breeze, and a pair of long, reverse blades coming out of each fist slowly like a pair of massive claws.
