Now this was pretty perfect weather, if Yui was being honest with herself. The heat of the day had yet to set in, and dawn had just broken over the horizon, and a gentle breeze was playing with her long, purple hair. Some people were already up, getting things done for the day, or preparing for the training that they were going to conduct, and Yui fell into that category herself. She had something new she was learning and training about, and was going to do some more of today. It was something she would do everyday before breakfast, and while this type of training was normally something she could do in her little house, she needed there to be spiritual pressures nearby that were actively trying to suppress their reiatsu. This made them harder to find, but not impossible, and that was what she was needing to practice… and there was the added benefit that this didn’t take her own spiritual pressure in order to do.
So she was in one of the public 2nd Division training grounds, and already she was up in a tree, resting against the trunk with her legs laying on a branch, resting peacefully. She hoped that soon she wouldn’t need to be in this deep meditative state in order to do this, and could do it passively, but she wasn’t there yet. It took time and practice to be able to suppress her spiritual pressure and sense others with such clarity, and doing it while also doing day to day tasks was a goal that she felt was within reach. A stepping stone to being able to suppress her Reiatsu completely. But everyone had to start somewhere.
She dropped her own spiritual pressure first… a practice she had long since worked on and was something that was almost like second nature, it was the easiest way to begin. Her breathing slowed slightly, becoming shallow and silent. One at a time, she began to tune out her senses; taste, smell, sound, touch… and when she gently closed her violet colored eyes, her sight. It took a few moments for her to be able to completely silence each sense, but it was far easier than the first time she had tried. With that done, she began to expand the one sense she had still active, that inner eye that was capable of seeking out the spiritual energy. Almost instantly she began to feel various spiritual threads around her, strands of hair that glowed against the black, dancing in the breeze… it was amazing how she was so easily able to visualize it now, but that was the easy part. With her inner eye, she found one and began to trace it to its origin, trying to find where it came from and who it belonged to. Several minutes past as she continued to trace it, and she smiled faintly as she realized who it was she had found; Captain Kasumi, still in her home. She tried to expand on that, and see if she could sense anything about that spiritual energy like Fujita-san said he was capable of doing, and focused on that but wasn’t having much luck.
Deep in this meditative state, Yui hadn’t even been keeping tabs on things directly around her, so focused on the Captain’s spiritual energy. Her hair, tugged at by the breeze, was dangling and visible beneath the tree she was posted in, and there was someone nearby that she hadn’t realized.
