[ ON THE SURFACE ]
Physical Description:
Martin’s most noticeable features are his light and bright honey brown eyes, they stand out against his frame and seem to hold an honest light in spite of his devious personality. His second most distinctive feature would be his pure blonde hair, it sits messily atop of his head, yet despite not receiving much maintenance maintains a perfectly healthy and smooth appearance that would make many women jealous.
He stands above average at 6ft 1 yet holds a slim frame, historically he was simply skinny with little muscle. In recent years, with his increased training, he has a very lean muscle mass that is really quite respectable by modern standards of attractiveness.
He generally holds himself with a confident sense of mischief, it is often evident that he is somewhat of a deviant, but he doesn’t really mean any harm to most people. He is also completely capable of adapting a more neutral demeanour with an air of refinement due to conditioning throughout childhood.
His vocal range is equally diverse, ranging from soft and charming, to slightly rough and aggressive when the time calls. His voice isn’t particularly deep, but it would be somewhat of a stretch to say it was feminine.
Spiritual Description: Martin’s reiatsu doesn’t take the blue form that many Quincy’s do, it takes the colour of a grassy green that seems to burn like a wild fire with flickers from the main body of reiatsu around him. Despite the wild nature, it does have a dignified and honourable feel to it once one looks past the surface of it.
[ BEHIND THE EYES ]
Personality:
Martin is at his heart a free spirit, he really has no time for pretence and baseless restrictions or rules. He is a strong believer in the fact that if we were given free will, it is rather insulting to then restrict said free will without any real basis. He isn’t an anarchist by any means, he sees why rules and order are required, but he believes common sense has a habit of going out of the window.
He has a notably mischievous side, inciting and finding laughter in many situations and seemingly not being able to take certain situations seriously. He’d rather have a good time than stand around being all serious when there isn’t a true need for it.
Despite this, he believes the vast majority of the people are self-serving and not to be trusted. The betrayal of his father, and the two-faced manner in which this betrayal is acted out, have left Martin rather jaded about people in general. It takes some convincing for him to believe a person’s motives aren’t truly selfish.
He is very underhand when required, he is not afraid to dabble in things considered to be inappropriate or against social acceptance. In a fight, he won’t seek out to fight dirty, but he isn’t going to pass up on the chance to do so if required. Equally, he is quite capable of manipulating others for his own gain.
Despite his rather harsh tone, he is quite capable of playing the role of a polite and respectful person. He is a rather gifted actor, having been paraded around many social events throughout his life which he despised but had to keep up appearances.
Goals & Achievements:
Wants to earn the respect of his family and peers.
Wishes to become the head of his branch of the family.
Wants to develop his combat abilities higher continually.
[ GUARDIAN ANGEL ]
Quincy Cross: Martin’s Quincy cross is quite standard, it takes the form of a simple silver Christian cross on a chain around his neck. It has no real distinguishing features, apart from the fine craftsmanship in its making.
Power: Martin’s power revolves around chaos and bad luck. Things that would uselessly happen flawlessly and without fail, will suddenly encounter problems. An example could be a kido spell is channelled awkwardly and blows up in the face of the attacker, or somebody losing their footing when throwing a strike.
Spirit Weapon: Martin’s spirit weapon takes the form of what appears to be playing cards. They can either manifest in a deck of sorts to be thrown at a target, or as cards floating in the air around him to be fired at a target.
[ LEGACY CREATED ]
Origin: Abel and Janet were unable to have kids for several years, due to Abel’s poor sperm count brought about by inbreeding. A fact Janet, who was yet to be directly tainted by inbreeding, was aware of and didn’t want her future kids to be plagued by. This, along with the fact Abel was a rather stuck up man, lead Janet to have a fling with the local milkman. He was far better looking than her husband, and had better equipment too so it was a shame she couldn’t go back to him without Abel finding out.
And so, eight months later, Martin was born at a healthy weight in very good health for a Blackmore. For the first two years of his life he was surrounded by love and affection from both parents, something that changed rather abruptly when he turned three. Janet’s affair came out, but to prevent damaging the family’s reputation the couple stayed together but Abel became very cold to Martin. He made little secret of the fact he wanted Martin dead to Janet, the only thing stopping him was once again reputation. It simply wouldn’t do to have the wider family, and community, see such a young child die in a tragic accident or from sickness.
Rise to Power: Martin began his formal Blackmore Quincy training very young, starting aged five in fact. He found the mock combat with the medieval weaponry really cool, he especially loved riding the horses and practicing his lance control. The young Martin was one who admired his family, even if his father was distant his mother was still warm and loving.
His admiration was shaken, but not shattered, when he overheard an argument between his parents about his birth. They never noticed the young boy overheard. Martin figured if he was only half a Blackmore, he’d have to work twice as hard as everybody else to excel, and he was. He worked harder than what was entirely healthy to prove he was worthy.
It was a motivation that was shattered when he overheard another argument when he was ten years old, his own father very graphically stated how he wished his son was dead or better yet was never born so he couldn’t bring shame upon the family. These comments deeply hurt Martin who from that moment on, only trained in order to bring his father down. What annoyed Martin the most was that he couldn’t truly hate his father, despite wanting to kick his ass mercilessly.
Shortly after, once he’d mastered the basics, he moved away from his father’s training in an overt stance of defiance. He made it clear he knew about his father’s opinions, and his own paternity. He threatened to go public unless his father complied with his demands, something he begrudgingly bent to.
From that point on, Martin rejected the medieval symbolism and themes which he previously admired and trained in. Instead, going for what simply felt right and natural with his newly ignited rebellious heart
Call to Action: Keeping this as a brief summary, as I want to actively roleplay it out before I get a grade on it to keep it smooth
Martin is officially made heir to the Blackmore family name in spite of his father's hatred towards him.
Begins to connect with other Quincy outside of his own family in order to further develop his abilities outside of his family's seemingly blinkered view.
Connected with a long lost member of the Blackmore family, revelling in the idea of a fellow half blood to associate with partly to irk his family
