[ ON THE SURFACE ]
Physical Description:
As she is now, Shinku is a walking nightmare. Her hollow form is horrifying, even by Hollow standards. She stands at roughly ten feet tall and twelve feet long, and her hollow mask has a pair of glowing purple eyes within, her mouth filled with razor sharp teeth and a pair of mandibles on either side of her jaw, and large black vine like things in place of her ‘hair’. Her ‘skin’ is instead a thick exoskeleton much like a Hierro in a much underdeveloped stage, and her two arms are tipped with only a pair of long, black claws, and behind her shoulders extends a much longer pair of limbs ending in a single large black claw. Where her abdomen ends and a normal human’s legs would begin is where things get even creepier. She has six large spider-like legs that are all webbed together with a weird purple tissue, and in her tail starts large, green liquid filled sacs, which are the beginnings of her eggs.
Her demeanor, however, is very much in contrast with her nightmarish appearance, and she seems to care for her spawned creatures much the way humans care for pets. She is far less likely to attack someone than her body’s obvious lethal nature would suggest, and she is often seen simply rubbing her claws together in thought, on the defensive, and contemplating her strategies. Her voice, when she chooses to speak, has a chittering undertone to it, giving it a very alien, menacing sound even when she is being friendly, but anyone who truly listens close can hear the truth of her emotions behind the words. Despite her look and all the biological effects of her body, the smell that can most be associated with stumbling into her Hive or being very close to her similar to morning dew; slightly wet but refreshing. The last thing to note is that since she stays underground more often than not, seeing her glowing eyes as the first thing is often the only visual representation most people will see unless they have been invited.
Spiritual Description:
Most of the time, Shinko likes to hide her spiritual energy as much as is possible, as stealth is one of the cornerstones of her survival process, but on the off chance you feel her spirit pressure or witness her when she is angered, it is a bright purple in color and is the same feeling of a large predator protecting their offspring from a threat. There is no honor involved, there is no fair play or consideration at this point, only vicious and unyielding bloodlust for those would endanger her friends or family. While this pressure is certainly present, it can switch in an instant when the threat is over, and her passive pressure is a much calmer, purple and even soothing sensation, and is often felt by those she wishes to protect.
[ BEHIND THE EYES ]
Personality: There is a single, solid theme with Shinko, and it is that she considers family above all else. So much so, that she will avoid killing certain people, even enemies, if they are serving a function within their family, as she does not want to tear that family apart, but not so much that she will sacrifice those she cares for if it comes right down to it. This is one of the primary reasons her preferred source of food is the other Hollows; they usually are only trying to harm others. She enjoys the sunlight more than most, but due to her reclusive nature, spends much of her time in her Hive underground, avoiding contact with others as much as possible to keep from drawing too much attention. So when she does go above ground, she much enjoys the sunlight, and will spend as much time as she can get away with basking in it, and as a weird side-effect, hates rain.
She is also a lot more open minded than most Hollow, thinking about perspectives, outcomes and consequences before acting on anything important. She wouldn’t mind talking with a Quincy, Shinigami, Hollow or anyone else if they are worth talking to with ease, and thinks of the conflict between the races as petty and unnecessary. She would much prefer that they all learn from one another and see if there was a way to gain some sort of peace, but knows that this is not a likely eventuality, and as such, is very combat readiness oriented as a whole. She can devise and adapt strategies with her minions with startling quickness, and will not be ashamed to withdraw if faced with an enemy that is both too strong and unwilling to reason. The only time she resorts to pure rage is when someone has hurt those she wants to protect, and that is usually still tempered by calculation and strategy.
Goals & Achievements:
On the long term, Shinku wants to become one of the Espada, because she feels at this point that she would be able to effect some sort of change with her ideals. Short term, she wants to continue to get stronger to protect herself and those she cares about, and she wants to learn about all the different types of people in the world. Shinigami, Quincy, Bount, and all the rest are very curious creatures that she wants to learn more about, and she hopes more than anything to be able to find opportunities to learn. One of the biggest topics she wants to discover more about is the next evolution she can feel that she is close to, the one to Menos Grande.
[ GUARDIAN ANGEL ]
Aspect of Death:Solitude
Power: The basics of her power is to be able to drop eggs that rapidly grow and turn into various creatures that she can control. Depending on the creature changes the energy required, intelligence, time required to mature, etc. These eggs, before hatching, are completely defenseless aside Shinku herself. These creatures are able to eat other beings that have spiritual energy, and then return the energy to Shinku and that is her primary means of feeding.
Zanpakutō: Unknown
[ LEGACY CREATED ]
Origin: Shinku was born into a prominent family as an only child, and was to be the heiress to the family line, where their expectations were very high since the earliest of her memories. Their teachings were very centered about the importance of family, and as their family was the one that ruled the region they lived in, and keeping an open mind. She was taught to always put herself into the shoes of the person she was speaking to, and try to see things from their point of view, which enabled proper and fair leadership when conflicts arose. She had to be fair and impartial, but she had to care about the situations as they came up. She was well educated, teachers from the area coming to give her lessons all the time until she was 18 and matched with a neighboring lord for marriage. He was nice enough, but she lapped around him several times in intelligence, having a natural gift for advanced thinking, and as such, she more or less ran things. Together, they were happy for a couple of years.
But a couple years into their marriage, they started to wonder if something was wrong. They had been trying to have children with relative effort, but to no avail. The consulted with people who knew things medically, and they could not discover the cause. They tried again for a couple more years, but soon there-after gave up. The young Lord had a responsibility to produce an heir, and if she wasn’t capable of doing so, then they would not work as a couple, and he split away from her and remarry to another heiress. Shinku gradually sank into a depression, despair claiming her mind even if she didn’t let others see it, but it took a toll on her body, as she began to barely eat and grew ill. At the age of 25, she died, quiet and alone. While it was unknown at the time, she had a mysterious illness from a young age which prevented her from being able to produce children. She was a hollow before she knew it, unable to pass on and quickly falling to depression as she watched her family wither and die before her, the chains of fate tying her to her home and forcing her to watch. She became a hollow, and remembers very little of her time before arriving at the Hive.
Rise to Power: How many years had passed since she first became a Hollow? She couldn’t recall much at all, small bits and pieces, but she could remember the smell of blood, and was horrified by what little she knew. What kind of beast had she become? And she felt it, she knew that she was barely here and now, and she could slip back into that unconsciousness at any moment if she didn’t do something, but what was there to do? Looking into the reflection of her horrific new form in the pond she found herself near, she heard a howl as another bestial Hollow dropped into being nearby. Curious, she moved within view to see what was happening, and witnessed the creature moving towards a completely oblivious mother and her child. In shock, her limbs moved before she consciously realized it, and she tore into the fellow Hollow, using her claws from all four of her arms to stab and claw the beast, even resorting to chomping down on it’s arm when it tried to resist with her rows of vicious teeth. It was in that moment, biting into the creature, that she felt that bestial hunger lingering around her consciousness recede just a little bit, and with a whole new hunger, she tore into the Hollow, devouring him entirely.
She felt very off about what she had just done, but Shinku also felt much more like herself instead of a beast. Was that what she needed to do? Consume her fellows to retain her sanity? It is certainly what it looked like… that was fine. Looking back to the mother and her child, she realized that she had likely been the same way until only a short while ago, and resolved to kill those who were lost to themselves and consume them, and them alone, if she could. But she was deep into a world she didn’t understand, and that meant she needed to learn more, starting with where the hell in the world she wound up after so long with no memory. To her surprise, she felt something occur behind her, and turned her torso to witness the horrific sight of a large, green egg slipping off her tail and onto the ground. Surprised and fearful both, she grabbed the egg and vanished into the nearby tree line, unsure what to expect next.
After putting the egg into the hollow area of a fallen tree trunk, she watched it with attention as it continued to pulse, throb and grow, until a minutes later when it burst open and a nightmarish creature emerged. Normally, she would have been repulsed, but she couldn’t help but wonder what had happened, and the creature approached her tentatively. Shinku felt the connection, and with focus, she was able to see through the eyes of her pet, and gazed upon herself. She spent the next couple years experimenting with this power, and developed both the Okami and the Hanta, using them to form hunting parties and expanding the area in which she was able to control and maintain, sustaining herself with the bodies of her kin.
Call to Action: By staying quiet and observing, Shinku has learned a great deal about the various types of humans, Shinigami and other things of interest over the years. She also is getting to the point where she will soon need to evolve, and while she is certain that it is a step she needs to take, simultaneously she does not want to lose who she is. She has seen what happens to her fellows when they evolve, losing who they are in a bloody struggle to consume one another, and isn’t certain she can survive in such a condition. She also has her Brood to think about, unsure what would happen to them, fearing that they may turn more primalistic and attack anyone at random. There were simply too many unknowns.
Fearful of that advancement, she instead has taken an interest in getting as much information as she can before committing to such an act. So now she must venture out and try to find someone from one of the races that can squelch these fears, and she has no intention of stopping until she does. Hollow, Quincy, Shinigami, Bount and any of the rest who have this information is who she is seeking. Shinku also recognizes that she has a limited amount of time before she is forced to evolve, so stalling is not an option, and is starting the search in earnest.
