Yui normally was always Flash Stepping at maximum speed, using her skills to remain undetected, and generally just being a freaking ninja at all times. But not today. Today, she was shopping, and that meant slowing down for just a bit, knowing that if she went too fast that she would miss something and regret it later. So, while she was in her typical garb for work, she was walking slowly through the streets, the only change to her appearance was a large pouch affixed to her belt on her backside. She was stopping by various different shops in the 9th District in Rugonkai, trying to find some more herbs and spices as well as anything else interesting. Yui didn’t really drink or do much else with her money, so this was how she wound up spending a little bit that she had saved up once in a while, and every so often, she would find something that was truly awesome and made the whole trip worth while.
She hadn’t found anything that spectacular yet, but it was still mid-morning, and there was plenty of time left in the day. She stopped at one stand for a few minutes, one that she often frequented when looking for more cooking supplies that she couldn’t grow in her garden. “Need some more garlic powder… sea salt… minced mint…” she absently said, looking at a list she had in her hand, a piece of paper with all the things that she was looking for. Grabbing several items on the list, she brought them to the man that had been patiently watching her. “Nice to see you again, Ms. Shokotsuki. This all for the day?” She gave him a smile and a nod, and paid him with a small tip, and then moved to the next shop that sold actual cookware. She needed a few things, but with her small kitchen, storing these things was a pain sometimes, so she had to make sure what she got wasn’t so large that it wouldn’t fit in her small cabinets along with what she owned now.
But considering that she was starting to cook for more than just herself, she needed to expand her inventory. Maybe she would have to find someone good with architecture so she could remodel and expand her kitchen, but that would require that she make her actual home bigger too. She wouldn’t mind that, but it sounded like a lot of work, and a lot of time. It might be worth it in the end though… but for now, she needed to focus on what was in front of her, trying to figure out what types of food she could expand to if she got some new cookware. She picked up one large pot, used for big stews. She could probably cook a pretty sizable chicken in this thing, but where would she put it? Oh well, she would figure it out as she went. Grabbing a few utensils that would be needed for the much larger pot, she put everything together and paid the old lady running this shop and stepped outside again, holding the large pot over her back and looking around. Surely there was something else too… but what was it? Yui began to read through her list again, setting the pot down and using the lid to sit on while she scratched what she had gotten while reading through what was still left. Only a few more things before she could head home and get her housework done. She wanted to train a bit today too… so many things to do and not enough time it felt like.
