Niji sighed as she sat on the wrecked outer limits of Karakura Town. The time since she was last here definitely wasn't kind to the city. But then again, having Hollow Invasion, after Hollow Invasion was the kind of thing that really kept things down. Of course the last time she was on earth before being confined to a hospital was learning Reishi Manipulation from Frey. The woman who would become Queen of the Quincy, and whom Niji considered worth being a Knight for. If she ever got powerful and strong enough to help her.
But that was over a year ago. She heard when getting out of factions within Soul Society trying to make war between the Quincy and the Shinigami, of Frey becoming Queen like she always wanted, and worse. Of the death of her children. When they last spoke Niji promised to never use her powers against a Quincy, and swore her allegiance to Frey. But here she was over a year out of practice, and her entire life passed her by. She couldn't even be there to try to help protect Frey's kids. Still, she had to attempt to re-establish contact with Frey, and hopefully start her training in earnest to be one of her Knights. At least one Shinigami, in all of the Seireitei who'd be loyal to the Quincy and their cause. After all she still wanted to be able to create for the Quincy a means to improve their war on Hollows, and now apparently a risked war with Soul Society. Even though she once swore allegiance to Minamoto-Senpai, she would side with Frey if it came down to Shini or Quincy. To be a hopeful middle ground to establishing peace, or a righteous blow to those who wronged her Queen.
Niji looked angrily at the mass pile of shattered rocks around her, she remembered the lessons, but the one thing that stuck in her mind was she always 'needed to be in control.' Prior to Obsession, and all those deaths at her hands. Control and imagination were things she had in abundance. But afterwards, she was struggling for control, struggling to feel a sense of normalcy in this sudden world gone mad, but very little control. Taking a deep breath she focused at the latest rock in her hand I can do this.
If I'm ever to be use to anyone. I have to at least do this one thing right.
Niji collected the ambient reishi around her, the blue ball of energy flowing into the stone as she felt the give and take. Slowly she started to chisel it, whittling away at it's structure. Till she had a crude ring. If anything more poorly made than what she did a year ago, but now she was back in training. She could only get better. Or at least she hoped. I hope I can find Frey, maybe finally be there for her now that she can use me.
