His talk with Jian had been…interesting, though not particularly heartening. It was a problem of the young man’s, this idealism. He was trying to hold onto it so desperately, it was almost like it was the last thing that he had left and that if he let go of that? He would lose himself. Still, as he walked back through the streets of the suburb, he couldn’t help but feel a small twinge of disappointment. He had hoped that he could’ve at least talked the man into adopting some new kind of viewpoint.
Still it wasn’t for lack of trying, at the very least he’d talked with the man, and hoped that their chat could help him just a bit. But he was constantly beset by the fear that something bad might happen in the future and that, if it did, then Jian might be a key component. Then again, he was even MORE beset by the fear that he, himself, might become another lynchpin. It was almost scary, as he thought about it, just how much and how quickly, life could change.
It was still pretty early in the morning, and the lack of sleep these last few days was starting to weigh on him, and as he was passing down a street in those wee hours of twilight, his nose caught a whiff of something good. His feet suddenly turned down an intersection in the street, and he found himself at a small coffee shop. Seemed like a place that not a lot of people would exactly find easily.
It was a quaint place, but the first thing he noticed was that there was a spiritual pressure in the area, about as strong as Raphael’s himself. He looked around the shop, and immediately felt out the area around him, happy that there were no hollows in the area, at least none that he could sense. But the sensation that was coming to him was coming from a young woman of average size and, unlike many ladies that he saw, completely covered. She seemed to be simply relaxing, in the shop. Raph ordered a coffee and sat down at her table. Looking down towards his coffee, he said “Don’t say anything, don’t jump, don’t lose your cool. My name is Raph, and I just wanna talk.”
