In the middle of a city dense with the spiritually aware, Sasha gets her introduction to some basic concepts of the other, ‘ghostly’ reality from the friendly Karakura librarian - Calendrea (Some Directions, Please). The young woman is a fellow ‘Quincy’ who has a clear idea of her powers and how to use them. Unlike Sasha, Calendrea seems to know what to do when a Hollow appears which in a way surprises the less experienced Quincy. It wakes the realisation that everything is more dangerous than she had assumed it to be.
Too excited with the gotten basics she ends up making an ambitious move against an Arrancar. Unaware of the power gap between them, Sasha gets burned pretty badly in ‘Burn Me’. The Witch leaves her to die in the alleyway, but a Shinigami comes along to heal, and save, her.
Fully healed, at least physically, Sasha’s led by her curiosity to the private property of the former Quincy King (Missing Pieces). Knowing that this newfound world with the spiritual creatures is much bigger than she had first anticipated it to be, she clings onto every silly thought in an attempt to paint the bigger picture. Otto, who she finds during her not so legal escapade, helps her to draw the first firm lines of her new reality.
Having found a number in the mansion during her trip to Berlin, she makes contact with another Quincy. Amelia, a slightly older, powerful Quincy, fortunately turns out to be friendly and helpful. As she allows Sasha to feel some of her power, the younger girl understands that she is even smaller than she had already thought. (Sweet Disaster )
During one of the evenings in Tokyo, Sasha runs in Erek (An Unsuspecting Meeting), after a brief conversation in a nearby pub, they agree to taking a trip to Berlin some time later (Delving into the Past). There, with his help and Amelia’s indirect support, Sasha gets to stay in the Quincy Castle in order to look into the history of her race. She hopes to find something that will help her with figuring out both her roots and her powers.
Next Chapter
Not one to simply accept what someone says without doing her own research, Sasha will persistently take (mostly) calculated risks in order to get more information on the races and the dynamics between them. Another thing she wants to work on is her power, she understands now that being who she is makes her vulnerable if she doesn’t grow stronger. Slowly putting pieces together should help her to find her own stance on this rapidly growing spiritual world.
