[ ON THE SURFACE ]
Physical Description: Ealair prefers keeping her pitch black hair short to prevent anyone from grabbing it in combat, maintaining a short asymmetric cut with her bangs combed over and reaching down to her left eye. Her eyes burn dark gold in colour with purple markers under both while also having a piercing, imperious quality to them that sends shivers down the spines of anyone who falls under her gaze. Her stark, angular facial features lend to a regal countenance while also being further accentuated by an aquiline nose of average length. The mask fragment left from her transformation into an Arrancar is arrayed around the base of her neck, a two finger thin choker taking the appearance of an open circlet surmounted by five spikes shaped like claws half an inch in length. When speaking her voice is alway calm and collected, but also cold and commanding; Ealair has never been known to lose her temper or betray emotion unduly and riskgiving an edge to an opponent, and she expects her words to be heeded (VA: Lani Minella).
Her build is slim but well-muscled, that of someone who trains constantly but doesn’t build up a great deal of muscle mass, and her skin is almost ghost grey-white in colouration. Her form is compact with a small bust even as she stands only slightly shorter in height to most men, her posture adding to her authoritative presence. Ealair’s movements, whether simply walking or fighting, are calculated and controlled for the best possible outcome at the minimum expenditure of energy needed. She always strives to give off the appearance that everything she says and does has been planned and accounted for far in advance. She has a set of curved, v-shaped tattoos mirrored against each other that start at her collar-bone before moving down to her cleavage and then spreading out to her shoulders. Her Hollow Hole is located low on her abdomen close to her sternum, and her Números tattoo is located on her right shoulder blade.
There’s very little to Ealiar’s outfit. She wears a long white sleeveless jacket with a hoodie with black lining around the edges of the jacket, low-cut hakama with holes in the sides showing off her thighs with similar black lining, a dark purple sash around her waist, a black tab and white zori combo, white fingerless gloves with black lining similar to the rest of her outfit that tend to highlight her sharpened fingernails, and wrappings that cover her upper body and forearms.
Spiritual Description: Ealair’s Reiatsu is dark purple in colouration and seems to burn with intense energy. When exerting her Reiatsu Ealair’s body begins to glow as ambient spiritual energy whorls around her before she releases it in an explosive pulse around her. People and things struck tend to feel powerless and subservient before this reiatsu, so dominating and oppressive is its power and reinforced by Ealair’s ironclad conviction in her own superiority. Their ears start to ring and they feel as though something is pulling them down beneath Ealair.
[ BEHIND THE EYES ]
Personality: A tyrant at her core, Ealair Urchaghaidh maintains one simple maxim that governs her dealings in Hueco Mundo; the strong and worthy rule, and the weak and unworthy submit and serve. Conflict and competition are the tools with which the strong and weak are separated and ordered, while moral and human considerations like freedom, dignity, beauty and the like simply distracts, promoting mediocrity and allowing weakness to rule in place of strength. To that end Ealair jockeys endless for power, prideful as she is in her own superiority and having learned from previous mistakes. This pride pushes her forward in her desire to see her vision of herself become reality. If that takes centuries as she works her way up the hierarchy of Hueco Mundo then so be it; she has learned the wisdom of patience in all things.
Where once she would have brashly and brazenly taken power from one she perceives as weak, she is now more than willing to manipulate others to her own ends while doing as little as possible to make herself a target. She is a ruthlessly determined schemer, shrewd and cautious with a willingness to employ any and all tools at her disposal to ensure victory. Being forced to the forefront however does not make her any less capable. She is a born commander, more so of obedience than loyalty, but leading from the front nonetheless. She is brutally intolerant of disobedience, and sparing yet deep in her rewards for loyalty.
Contrasting her thirst for power though, is Ealair's developed code of honour and ethics. She defines her terms and lives by them whether anyone else likes it or not. She firmly believes living by a code puts her above unprincipled power mongers and draws strength from her conviction in this code. She honours and respects her superiors and legitimate authority (so long as they remain capable) as well as her allies, honours her oaths and pays her debts, will not lie (but will misinform and withhold information as needed), Supports her comrades, and will never employ underhanded tactics in battle (unless they are already beaten). Due in part to this code Ealair seems to be more disciplined than the average Arrancar; she rarely ever visibly displays signs of egotism or arrogance, bloodlust, brutality or overconfidence and remains calm and composed on and off the battlefield.
That is not say some of those traits aren't there of course. Ealair's experiences both in life and in death have hardened her to the suffering of others, giving no sympathy and expecting none in turn; you're in the circumstances you find yourself in because of your own weakness. She is utterly ruthless in her quest for power and is prepared to employ ever means at her disposal and within the bounds of Hueco Mundo law to get it. She is also exacting and severe in how she handles subordinates; failure is often relative to the standing and capabilities of the subordinate in question, with heavy sanctions at best and intense suffering at worse, though she holds herself to these high standards as well. When dealing with base Hollows however she'll simply have them killed outright by her servitors, such is her disdain for them, or kill them herself if they prove worthy. Few she finds, are truly worthy of becoming Arrancar, and she would never allow a base Hollow of any rank to rise too high in her court (unlikely as that might be) without shattering their mask. Her tyrannical nature coupled with her perfectionism also means she feels the need to micro-manage and take matters into her own hands, even when it is unnecessary.
Goals & Achievements: Despite her best efforts Ealair has few achievements to her name. She served as Fracción to the Espada Ocho for thirty-five years before being cast-out after a failed power grab, an attempt on the part of the Espada to inflict a fate worse than death: shame. But she overcame that adversity and has since built up a new powerbase in the deserts of Hueco Mundo, consisting mostly of Base Hollows she has submitted to her will and Adjuchas drawn to her power.
The fundamental desire that drives Ealair onward is the pursuit of power, personal and temporal. Control of the self and of the external world is the only goal worth pursuing as far she is concerned. Therefore she must develop her abilities and skills by training and draining the Reiryoku of the unworthy, extend her influence, lay her pawns and ultimately climb higher up the food chain of Las Noches. She's quite comfortable becoming Fracción again before claiming the rank of Espada, but should the opportunity arise to claim the rank of Espada quickly and efficiently she'll take it. Should Queendom fall into her lap should we begin restructuring Hueco Mundo into a world befitting her image; a world heavily ordered and hierarchical with her and the other elite on the top (all Arrancar of course), but with avenues available for those with potential to claim power for themselves.
[ GUARDIAN ANGEL ]
Aspect of Death: Pride - Pride is considered by many faiths as the foundation of other sins: Wrath, Greed, Lust... all stem from pride, the perversion of the faculties that make humans more like God—dignity and holiness. It is dangerously corrupt selfishness, the putting of one's own desires, urges, wants, and whims before the welfare of people. It irrationally believing that one is essentially and necessarily better, superior, or more important than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal image or self (especially forgetting one's own lack of divinity, and refusing to acknowledge one's own limits, faults, or wrongs as a human being). The driving force of Ealair's life was pride. Pride in herself and her capabilities, pride in her social standing, pride in her wealth. However it was that very same pride that brought about her tragically violent death in what can only be considered an act of divine retribution. That inability to reconcile her own pride and self-image with her circumstances and the world around her is why she refused to abandon the mortal world, why she was able to assert dominance over her Gillian, and is the fundamental driving force behind her lust for power. She must, and will, assert her vision and desires onto the world; her vision is the only one of value after all.
Power: Dominio(Dominance) - After locking eyes with a single target Ealair can speak a one word command which the target must obey immediately. The order must be clear and straightforward, as confusing or ambiguous commands may cause the subject to respond slowly or perform the command poorly. The subject also cannot be forced to do something directly harmful to themselves. The command may be included in a sentence. This effort at subtlety still requires Ealair to make eye contact at the proper moment and stress the key word slightly. This power can be resisted if the target in question is of greater spiritual power than Ealair.
Zanpakutō: Ealair’s Zanpakutō has the appearance of an unadorned if somewhat oversized Halberd. The weapon itself is about a foot taller than Ealair with a shaft made of blackwood. The axehead itself is also rather large, about twice the size of Ealair’s hands put together, with an outward curve and three slits on the inside in shapes matching the spikes around Ealair’s mask remnant. The menacing spike topping the Halberd off is about a foot in length.
[ LEGACY CREATED ]
Origin: Ealair is not the name the Arrancar conqueror bore in life. In life she was known as Blair Kerr, the willful daughter of one Faolan Kerr of Menteith who served as chief scrivener to the Earl of Menteith. Tragically Blair’s mother died in childbirth, a blow her father never seemed to really recover from even as he became increasingly doting and lax with her. He saw something of his wife in Blair, and Blair in turn tried endlessly to live up to her father’s expectations; she became prideful, willful and headstrong even at a young age, asserting herself as supreme head of Blair Castle’s children, even over the admittedly reticent son of the Earl. Her father’s tutoring in many varied topics gave Blair access to knowledge rarely seen outside the noble classes, adding yet more credence to her feelings of superiority. Before long Blair had grown into a beautiful young woman, a fact she knew all to well and relished in. Suitors came from across Scotland for her hand, but she cast each and everyone one away after they failed to impress her; nothing but dullards and barbarians for miles around. Faolan however had grown fearful that Blair’s arrogance would turn away prospective husbands and, in an act of supreme betrayal, arranged a marriage for her with the Earl of Dumbarton.
Ealair was furious at such treachery but was incapable of doing anything about it, and for five years she suffered the indignity of being married to her dullard of a husband before, in a rage, throwing him down a flight of stairs and claiming it was an accident. She ruled the earldom as regent following this, relishing her newfound freedom even as her stewardship became increasingly oppressive. However it isn’t long before her egoistic and ruthless governance insighted rebellion amongst the peasantry who, after two years, stormed the castle and killed everyone inside. But death would not come easy for Blair; her righteous indignation at the circumstances of her death forced her to become a Jibakurei haunting the castle she died in. For five years the locals stayed as far away from the castle as possible even as decay began to set into its foundations, fearful of the vengeful spirit that had made it its domain. When Blair at last turned into a Hollow all traces of the woman she had been were gone, replaced by an insatiable lust for humans. One that would be slaked on the peasants of the Scottish Highlands.
Rise to Power: For sixty years An Sealgair Dorcha, the name the locals gave to the Hollow Blair had become, ranged across Scotland. From the Pentland Firth in the north to the coastlines on the Irish Sea in the south she feasted on the peasant rabble, gorging itself on their blood and fear. As she began to reclaim more and more of her personality her pride demanded she seek greater and greater challenges in her hunting; one legend even tells of An Sealgair Dorcha consuming an entire army assembled by the Highland Clans to destroy her. Druids and Sorceresses, Shinigami sent to hunt her down and other fonts of spiritual energy were soon exhausted however, and it was on the eve of Beltane in 1530 that she passed into the darkened realm of Hueco Mundo. She ranged far and wide in search of worthy game until finding herself in the midst of a veritable feeding frenzy of Hollows; a gnashing pit of teeth and flesh consuming itself, out of which was birthed a mighty Gillian. She might not have been the most powerful amongst those in that pit… but her strength of will and belief in her own superiority was, and this is what allowed An Sealgair Dorcha to assert herself as the dominant will of this new form. It took her another fifteen years of consuming fatten Gillians before Dorcha emerged, like a butterfly from a chrysalis, in the form of an elk-like Adjuchas... and took the name Ealair.
After claiming her Adjuchas form Ealair’s priorities and ideals began to crystallize. It was not enough now for her to simply grow stronger, but to use that power to bend the world to her own desire; only then would the masses be aware of the full scope of her abilities. She continued consuming powerful Hollows and chasing the dream of the Vasto Lorde state, but her growing power began to draw other Hollows to her. Whether out of devotion or pragmatism they served her loyally and faithfully, becoming the army upon which she would build her empire. The limitations of her Adjuchas form began to rear themselves to Ealair as the decades passed however. No matter how many souls she consumed, she didn’t feel any great increase in power, even as the thousands of souls insider her clawed and tore away at her insides. Desperate to stave off the fall back into Gillian form Ealair staged one final grand stratagem; killing and claiming the power of one of the lower Espada. Despite her best efforts however Espada Ocho proved too powerful for her… but rather than killing her outright, the Espada did the truly unexpected; he broke her mask. Whether out of curiosity or respect, Espada Ocho allowed Ealair to claim power without fear of regression and a new stage of development. For that she pledged herself to him as Fracción, before promptly turning on her followers and consuming them as a show of loyalty.
Call to Action: For thirty-five years Ealair served under Espada Ocho loyally and faithfully. She was ruthlessly efficient in the dispensation of her orders and oppressive of those below her in the hierarchy; bellicosity, arrogance and pride became synonymous with Ealair even amongst her fellow Fracción. However as the years went on Espada Ocho became increasingly less inclined to dynamic leadership, content to sit in his tower and waste away the days content with what he had. Ealair had no patience for leaders such as this and began laying down her plans to seize power away from him. However in her hubris she overplayed her hand, jumping into her coup without having assessed Espada Ocho’s full power; she was beaten bloody and into submission. But rather than simply killing her, the Espada had a far more fitting punishment in mind. She was cast out from his Fracción and from Las Noches under pain of death from any who sought Espada Ocho’s favour or to join his Fracción.
And so Ealair was cast out, harried and hounded by opportunistic Números until she was able to escape into the deserts of Hueco Mundo she had left behind so many years ago. Her defeat left her forlorn and broken, a ragged shell on the precipice of oblivion, but her exile from Las Noches also left her time to do one crucial thing: think. Think and reflect. She realized she had been neglecting the development of her personal power in favour of claiming more and more temporal control in Las Noches; she had allowed her blind lust for power to overtake her, make her careless, and that is what proved to be her undoing. She would train her physical and spiritual abilities during her exile in battle with the lowborn Base Hollow (they were good for that much at least) while sharpening her mind in games of manipulation and intrigue. For over a hundred years she has been honing herself and learning from the mistakes of the past while rebuilding her shattered power amongst the wastes of Hueco Mundo. Now, with the balance of power in Las Noches shifting, the time has come for her to reclaim what was, what is, rightfully hers, and bring the land of the Hollows to their knees.
