Freyleif clasped her hands together once the plate of blueberry pancakes were set before. She almost squealed with joy, but contained herself and just stared a while before picking up a fork and knife to slowly cut into the pancakes before pouring the syrup.
“Y’know, my clan started as seers and were not ‘Quincy’ blooded.” she began and gave a shrug of her shoulders. Again Janus didn’t seem to get the bigger picture. “There’s much more than having powers.” she waved her hand before digging into her plate and stuffing her face.
Freyleif looked back up at Janus as she spoke of peace. A crease in her brow formed as she thought on that and the next questions on survival. “I did tell you had such powers before, but let me explain.” she took another bite of cut up pancakes, swallowed, then returned to the conversation. “Yes, you will be able to see the attacks and counter with your spells.” she then pulled back the sleeves, showing the scarification of tattoos embedded in her skin, then the knotwork began to glow a soft blue as if the liquid was being pumped through her veins. She muttered in her native tongue and held her palm out and a blue flame burst into life.
“Or you can use your body,” the flame snuffed out as she placed her hand down on the table and the tattoos ceased their glow. “It’s all in your imagination, Janus, can you mold your own energy out yet? Has anyone helped or showed you yet?"

Janus nodded as she watched the young Queen begin to devour the pancakes. She ate, more sparingly to be sure, though what she was saying kind of confused Janus. If they were diviners like she was, how did they become Quincy. As far as Janus knew she could not shoot arrows or anything like that. Then again she was always only privy to half the puzzle which would explain why she, unlike most of the human magic users she had met, did not much care about long standing feuds or racism with Invisibles.
Janus almost fell out of her chair as the flame ignited. She had seen that in her divination and it still was weird as heck. She looked around and managed to plant the legs of her chair all back down on the ground and look around. As for the whole use your body thing, that did not make sense to Janus either. She simply responded with what little information she had. "I don't think I have energy, as for molding it, definitely not. And my body does nothing to masks, no masks, Quincy or black-robes. I was under the impression you needed a weapon or magic to be able to contest them." She said as she shifted her weight to make sure she wouldn't accidentally fall off her chair again and took another bite.
"As for imagination, I don't have much of one because I am always too busy watching other things to focus on my imagination. Sad but I've found I have very little imagination. Go here, do this. I used to think I was a realist and just a bit crazy. So tell me, how does all of everything you said work?"288
The Quincy frowned; everything she had said previously did not seem to get through Janus. In a world where souls could adapt - Janus stuck on simple facts her power was useless and nothing else could work. It was understandable, every awakening was too surprised about their own abilities.
“Reiryoku,” Freyleif said. “Everything comes from your soul. On the how? Close your eyes and think of a river in your mind's eye and slowly draw out that energy from within. Some people’s soul are triggered by trauma, the others training. You can coat your energy through your fists or mold them into spells like I did,” the Quincy gave a sigh and looked towards her raven and shook her head. “I’ll be honest, perhaps it is Jian or Raphael you should seek out. Jian was one of the few that taught me how to use hand-to-hand against the ghosts and I’m sure he could teach you a few spells to defend yourself.” the thought of Jian annoyed her for the simple fact that he hadn’t contacted her and their bad conversation - but he was one of the few that could actually help those in need.
“You’re pretty imaginative with your culinary, you could even use your knives against the dead. All it takes is energy,” she said picking up her fork and slowly coated with an aura of blue energy and stabbed down onto her pancakes before taking another bite.
“Just try it.” she yawned out. The energy dispersed from the fork and the Quincy did not look back up as she was more focused on the food.

Janus sudden looked very angry. She tried not to interrupt before flat out blurting. "You mean the idiots who threatened to destroy my place? Why would I ever ask them anything?" She said annoyed. Janus had been doing the whole, search deep inside you and the most she had managed to do was, have out of body experiences. She closed her eyes and tried to visualize something that was not only what the future would hold if she opened her eyes and found herself out of her body again. "That was not the intended effect." She said looking at her body and sitting back down in it.
She closed her eyes and tried again, thinking of magic, energy, focus. Not a dam thing. That did not work at all. She sighed and sat back and tried again. "Energy, soul...." She chanted over and over to no avail. Luckily she did not leave her body this time and sighed. "Is there like some other trick to it?" She asked the Queen as she took another bite. "Imagination." She said and that kind of just stopped her. What the hell was she supposed to imagine? "Divination.... Divination...." Janus kept saying over and over. Nothing. Janus was so annoyed she was about to punch the table out of spite. Then she realized, as her divination screamed, that was a terrible idea.
"Oh, I guess I really do have no imagination." She said looking at her hand and flexing the fist out of it. "But that's a neat trick." She shrugged and looked back at the Quincy. "So how are Quincy different?" She asked.270
Anger. Freyleif felt the spark flow of Janus when she mentioned Jian and the hatred dripped off her lips about a group of people damaging her restaurant. Yet even with Janus’ outburst the Quincy did not speak and let her steam over. Didn’t even look at the ghostly body she willed herself out of and poked at the square pieces of pancakes as nothing bothered her. The Quincy blocked the hatred that poured off the owner like a tidal wave and just waited until she stopped speaking with so many questions.
Freyleif’s lips tugged up on the side of her mouth and she simply shook her head. Here the Queen of the Quincy could burn down the place and yet still Janus would not fight against her fate and not use her powers to bring down the threat. She would never get over her mental block - just question the true reality of the situation. The Quincy held back from laughing and not wishing to make the owner uncomfortable, as some people had to be: broken.
“‘Tis a shame I guess,” Freyleif finally spoke up without looking up still. “I guess not everyone has an imagination. I guess that's just Fate no one can escape from, I cannot help you, then..” the raven slowly looked up the Queen noticing her somber tone beginning to leak out.
“We’re human, are we not?” she said finally pulling her gaze up to Janus with soulless, sad, eyes. “Look..” a hand brushed through the side of her head, letting her hair entangle through her fingers like threads before resting her arm back on the table. “I have a…” a mini pause as confusion dotted along the teen’s face. Freind or lover? She was unsure. “..A friend named Raphael Laurent he’s not of the KSN and would gladly help you with this. I trust him.” she smiled before stabbing her fork into the last bits of her pancake stacks and swirled it into the syrup then took a bite.

"I've met mister Laurent. Nice guy." Janus said as she shrugged. She was not in the mood to argue about who could help who. She was not a Quincy, and the young Queen probably had a lot more pressing things to do than tell Janus she was bad at having an imagination. Janus did not imagine much, instead she just watched different futures with curiosity and would follow the ones where she did something random. If Janus was a two faced god, than her power was much more along the lines of using her imagination to be a Rube Goldberg machine than anything else. She nodded to the Queen.
"But I don't know many humans who can use ribbons of light to fight supernatural creatures. Fate is something I regularly ignore. If fate were real, we wouldn't be able to make decisions of free will, and I wouldn't be able to see potential futures." Janus said and looked at the Queen. "So, what else are you going to do for your vacation, time off, search for more power?" She asked as she shifted her weight and realized the Queen had finished the pancakes. At least it seemed like spiritual people liked Janus' cooking. That was quite cool. Maybe she should try cutting something spiritual with a knife, she would have to get a new one cause there's no way she would ever be that mean to her prized kitchen utensils.
The pause was something she wanted to laugh at, it was very teenage. A friend, Janus wondered if they all thought of it the same way. She definitely wanted to figure out why she was not like the rest of the Invisibles and did not have a weapon. Maybe she really needed imagination, she hated that thought. She was a realist simply because she always saw real. There were not awesome super things she could do. Janus leaned back on her chair as she shifted. "How did you meet mister Laurent?"331
So she already met Raphael, yet it still didn’t seem she pulled for any help, the Quincy sighed and shrugged her shoulders - this was going nowhere. She did not press for any questions then if her friend had already shown up previously.
The Quincy rose a brow; there were many she knew that could use ribbon lights but kept it to herself. She shook her head as Janus dismissed the idea of Fate and felt the nagging desire to leave, even the raven could sense the depression coming off the Queen as she just stared at Janus for a moment after eating her pancakes.
“Time off, probably.” Freyleif finally said. So many odd questions being tossed around. A small smile formed on her lips and she had an inkling Janus was relying too much on random futures.
Damn, she knew she shouldn’t have paused and stuttered over mentioning Raph as the question sprung up. The Quincy shifted uncomfortably in the chair and gazed down at the eyes of the raven staring up at her, it was unnerving, to say the least. He had been staring at her for quite a while ever since he noticed the tone of her voice. Lightly she pet the bird and he finally sat down sideways to enjoy the attention.
“Um, well,” she muttered under her breath at that start of a response, unsure to tell that tale. “Escaping a nightmare and coming into a blessing I suppose, leaving the house certainly was the best options and exploring my new world. During my time staying here in Karakura I met the baseball-capped man at a café - he was rather goofy.” she chuckled remember when she asked to sit with him and he nearly dropped his coffee and catching her by surprise noticing how strong her soul was two years ago. “But if I bound myself to the house forever I would've never had the courage to get to know him. And he has helped me more than I have realized.” she looked down at the empty plate surprise by her words. Just that one meeting had changed everything; even so, she had worried when he suddenly vanished a few times and it made her heart twist when he was found homeless months ago and she had to send one of her friends to fetch him out of that hell hole.
“I should...go to him,” she said abruptly standing up and pushing the chair back causing it to squeak. “Thanks for the, uh, gift.” in the end it seems like Freyleif did find something: the card. She grinned to the raven then to Janus, next grabbing the bird in both hands and lifting him onto her left shoulder.
“Maybe our paths will rope in again, but I wish you luck on your divination, Janus, but for now I must say farewell. The food was absolutely wonderful.” she tipped an imaginary hat to the owner before heading out the door, the damn cage still sitting out there on the sidewalk and she chuckled having forgotten the whole thing.

Janus let the woman go as she gave her a polite bow. If nothing else, the entire supernatural community seemed to like her food. Which was, something. Janus was happy at that and was kind of happy that she probably did have some profound effect on the woman as she turned back towards the table and cleaned it off. She waited as she smiled and grabbed a cloth to clean everything down and set to washing everything. She waited for the Queen to leave as she smiled and cracked her knuckles. She had no imagination, and the Queen of the Quincy, was far smarter and more dangerous than Janus had thought. Janus simply let her hand rest on the table, pulled her soul's arm back and snapped it back into place, sending a shatter of splinters towards the ground.
She had see it in her divination, she just wasn't going to tell the Quincy queen that not only had she been right, but she was far smarter than Janus could have ever hoped to be. She started cleaning up the broken table as she sighed. Frey had been right, the entire time. While Janus had no imagination, there was truth to everything the Quincy Queen said. It was creepy. She probably could even still see the future, and she may have even been mocking Janus for it. Though, Janus was not sure she was like that at all, and was more or less completely begrudgingly angry at herself for not telling the woman she knew exactly what she was talking about. If she ran into her again, she would thank her. She hoped that the young Queen would get a hold of Mister Laurent and enjoy the rest of her vacation, maybe not end up so high strung. That's just how reality was in Karakura City. Everything went wrong and right, and if you were not an Invisible or a spiritual human, chances were you were behind the times.
"Thanks." She said quietly as she cleaned up, aware she was once again left to her own devices.347 7016
