Two soulless eyes were staring at her from the distance. Hills of white sand made it seem like the nose, mouth, and everything else belonging to a face was buried deep in the ground. Perhaps those two gaps in front of her could have been nostrils, but then the dome in the distance would have to be blind. Either way, they weren’t perfectly the same she found out when coming close enough to the openings in Las Noches’ walls. One seemed to have been carved with care while the other one must have been made by pure force judging by the uneven sides and the rubbish on the ground. Unsure if she wanted to accidentally walk into whoever had broken into the dome, or out of it for all she knew, Sasha tried to hide her presence as much as she could. While she had been focusing on doing that throughout the entire trip here, doing it now (and doing it well) was crucial. She knew that she was entering the snakes’ pit here, and if it hadn’t been for the rumour about the new king she had caught while being at the colony she would have never done such a reckless thing.
Levi, it had said, and she couldn’t have dared to think about returning home before making sure if he was the Levi she knew. While it barely made sense for him to be here, for him to be the king.. to be a Hollow, she didn’t believe in coincidences. Should she go now the question would bug her until the end of her life. Hearing from others wouldn’t help then. Sasha loved to see things with her own eyes before believing them. Right now, going to the throne room was the best course of action. She was already in the land of the dead, so it couldn’t be much worse. Right?
Carefully climbing over the rubble on the ground, she used the broken wall for balance. Forming a little stairs of reishi turned out to be fairly easy, so a couple of moments later the Quincy landed inside of the dome. Smooth floors were covered with a thin layer of sand here. Probably from the grains being blown inside through the giant gap. She wondered if it had been recently made or nobody actually cared to fix it. Figuring it out from the amount of sand on the ground wasn’t easy, she had no idea how much wind there usually was in the endless desert.
Move on, move on. A look back left her frowning. She was leaving obvious traces: footprints in the sand. Though, using her powers to wipe them away might be foolish. Dilemma’s.
Unable to decide what to do with it she shrugged and left it the way it was. The inhabitants of this place should be used to creatures wandering in through the opening. Hopefully they wouldn’t pay attention to some traces because of that. Maybe, if she was lucky, the sand would covered up the footprints before anyone would see them. That would be perfect.
Or.. I’ll be gone by the time someone notices them, yes, she nodded to herself. That would be even better.
With no other directions given but the throne room being somewhere in the center of the structure she silently set out on the second part of her journey. The silence around her helped her to think, but it also had her wondering about the decisions she has made so far. It took effort to keep out any gloomy thoughts. This gigantic place with its bony white walls pressed a certain fear on her soul. One she knew she would have to ignore against every instinct she had if she wanted to find the truth about her so-called ‘friend’.
