Resting amid the pale silk-like flowers were tresses of a raven hue. The heat of the sun made the air warm and inviting, as if urging little youngsters to come out and play. Bright light beat down upon a delicate visage, with rosey lips, and slightly flushed cheeks. Eyelids flickered in the morning light, and upon their opening, the raven-haired woman rose to a sitting position. One leg was bent at an angle, the open space beneath it forming a triangle; the other laid flat against the flowers beneath her. Zazi shook her head, letting tangled tendrils of hair fall from the tangled mess of being lain upon. She moved her hands in a graceful fashion, raking her fingers through the locks behind her head to the base of her neck.
With one quick movement, she rose from her place upon the ground. She upturned her head to stare at the sky above her. The heavens were full of clouds, some big and fluffy, others looming and dangerous, as if the edge of a lightening storm was coming near. The wind blew softly, caressing the few stray tendrils of hair upon Zazi's cheeks. She peered into the distance, spotting a small wooden building, not much bigger than a shed. This was her home. Small, and very modest, but it was her's, and that's all she cared about. It was set in the forest, right above a small rise, overlooking the vast fields and meadows of red flowers. Though she had lived in this small secluded dell for two months now, she had never traveled to the surrounding cities. She had a distaste for strangers, for her trust was hard to gain, and her past made her a very guarded individual.
Zazi smirked, and chuckled under her soft breathing.
"It might be a sad humble place to live, but I love it here..." She stood the rest of the way, grasping her satchel from the grass. She slung it over her shoulder and began to stride toward her home. Red and white lilies were blooming along the pathway to her home. A wind blew through the trees, sweeping her hair across her face, but the caress of warm air against her face simply made her smile. She took a step forward onto the cobblestones which marked the beginning of her land. It didn't seem to matter much, though, considering she was the only one for miles around.
The small cottage ahead of her was small, maybe only enough for one room. The roof looked in dire need of repair, and the door hung out a crack, as though it wouldn't close completely. It stood ajar, rocking back and forth a little in the gentle wind. The wear and tear was very apparent on the outside, but Zazi didn't mind much. It was her's, all her own, and because of that, it made her happy. Out of nowhere, she raised her eyes to the sky, watching as a falcon drifted down from the clouds in a graceful manner. A cute up-turned grin lit her visage as the bird swooped low and onto her now outstretched arm.
"Hello, Kovu, dear." The bird looked up at her face, and squawked as though it had acknowledged her voice. This was Zazi's familiar. After a short time after she was done ruffling the falcon's feathers with her tender touch, Kovu flew into a nearby tree, watching the path as Zazi went on with her work. She sat down upon the cobblestones, toward the edge of a small garden. Large Asian lilies and painted daises littered the garden with their radiance. She dropped her bag to the ground and dug in it for a moment until her hand reappeared with a small pouch full of seeds.
"Its about time I plant more lillac bushes..." There were two things in this world Zazi had been obsessed with since she was a young girl, emeralds, and lilacs. Her childhood had not been the greatest, but these two things had always made her smile. She was not much a person for material things, but she still took a liking of the Gem and the flower. There was a creak down the path, which caught her ear. She looked down the way she had come from, wondering who might be stumbling up her path toward her home. It wasn't completely unusual, but this was different. This one was loved by Reiki. She could feel it from where she was sitting now.
