[ I NEVER WANTED TO LOVE ]
Physical Description: Luca is a very kind looking creature, his soft ochre eyes seemingly taking in the entire world in front of him. He has slightly unkempt dark brown hair is sloped to the left, barely meeting the very bottom of his forehead. Being around 5'9" in height, and 155lbs soaking wet, one would not think too much of the boy, especially in his usual attire of a dark button up, and light tan pants. If close enough, someone may be able to notice the faint smell of bread, along with the calming scent of freshly picked flowers brought in daily to his home.
Luca rarely looks down at his feet, especially when walking, however even so it could be said he never wants to be noticed, hopping from one shadow to the next. It's not as though he is sly or afraid, and his posture mimics this sentiment as his shoulders never seem to slack, and his feet never shuffle. His quick stride is one with pride, pride that he would rather bask in alone. A humble voice only used when necessary, he is a man of few words, and even fewer actions, wasting very little energy unless unavoidable. When speaking in his native tongue of german Luca is oddly soft, however there is a sense of authority about the way he speaks. Luca's japanese is very soft but stern, giving off the sense of a calm and kind man.
Spiritual Description: A soft boy full of hope for a world to grow, his presence feels much like a fire beginning to burn, perhaps more akin to a fireplace being stoked in the dead of winter, his glow is small now, but will shine a bright orange in the future. An aura of fall colors, bright and dancing surrounds Luca, the faint smell of bread overpowered by flowers fresh from the fields. Normally it appears to be the average blue of a Quincy, however once he becomes determined, it glows red and orange, as though a flurry of leaves were swaying all around him.
[ TRUTH IS
I'M THE ONE ]
Personality:
Luca is a rather easy-going child, and has been since he first arrived in this world. Very accepting of others, he would prefer to become friends to those who share his air than waste his breath bickering, however he does not back down from his beliefs, and if he feels another is wrong in an unacceptable way, he will show no courtesy. To the races of the world, he has no prejudices, and in fact has attempted to communicate with Hollow once or twice. These attempts have all led to nothing but the extermination of said hollow however, and so he has chalked the majority to be nothing more than empty beasts, and will kill them if necessary. Having no knowledge at the moment of other beings like himself, whether they be Quincy, Shinigami, or others, he would prefer to stay close and maintain a friendly relationship. This goes especially so for Quincy as he would likely ask to be trained by one he particularly trusts.
Out of everything in his world, the family that surrounds him are of the utmost importance. This does not only count towards blood relation as those he has befriended and those he will all count under this broad generalization. Much like the Evergreen family who were once a known force in Germany, Luca does not let simple things like blood tie him down, for those he has shared a bond with have become his family. This family is his to protect and provide for, nothing else matters when this family is in danger, not even his life. On a less serious scale, he is much akin to a elder brother or father-like figure to his friends, oftentimes nitpicking them or making sure their health is being taken care of.
Abandonment is something Luca is not fond of. Death would be the only reason to abandon those who need aid, and as such he is often mistaken to be naive in his ways. While he knows it is true you cannot help every single person survive, he knows he must try his best to help as many people possible, for that is the way his family lived, and how it always will. Luca will throw himself into harms way as long as he is able to make sure the well being of another is not in peril, even if that person may have wronged him. This is not to say Luca cannot recognize one who only wants to use Luca's loyalty as if such a situation were to arise and he were to identify it, said person would be on the other end of Luca's fist.
Luca is an outspoken man and has no worry whether his words will hurt others, this does not mean he is rude or aggressive in nature, he just has no reason to be insecure of his words or thoughts. He is confident enough to know that those who try to change him are nothing more than people who wish to use him, and he has no need to pretend to be anything other than what he is. This can oftentimes make him come off as insensitive or aloof, however those who truly know him know otherwise.
Goals & Achievements:
Friendship/Family
Growing up taking care of either one of his parents at multiple points in time, he feels he never truly has sustained a lasting friendship, and hopes to change this. Much like his father, Luca believes anyone can become family with enough time and trust, and once they are that friendship never fades even in the darkest of times. He wishes to create his own family like his great-great-grandfather once did.
Provide
Luca hopes to be able to provide for all of those who have placed trust in him, whether it be shelter, food, or kindness matters not.
Become Strong
Watching Karakura fall apart, Luca never wants an event like that to happen again, however he knows only the strong can influence the world, so he must become strong.
Learn his heritage
His mother and father never truly went into detail about the Evergreen heritage, either due to a purposeful silence or her illness. His awakening into the powers of a Quincy have made him interested in his familial and Quincy heritage, sparking a new sense of adventure, while his father has trained him in recent years, it's been more about the Quincy in general. Luca hopes to find his uncle when he is strong enough so that he can be taught the past of the Evergreen.
[ BUT YOU'VE GOT NOTHING THAT'S WRONG ]
Quincy Cross:
Luca's cross is a seemingly normal red quartz crystal string up by a thin black cloth band tied into a knot. This crystal was given to him by his father and mother to unbeknownst to Luca, quell his spiritual pressure by sealing it inside the crystal. He cherishes this item more than any other in the world as it is the last item he received from his mother before she passed on. When using his Quincy powers the crystal may begin to float and exert energy equal to the power Luca is drawing.
Power:
Luca's power comes in the form of being able to manipulate the air around him to create wind.
Spirit Weapon:
The manifestation of Reishi is something Luca has little concept of, however even with the barely tangible knowledge he has, he has put two and two together to be able to concentrate Reishi into his arms, forearms, and lower legs to effectively become his own weapon. Recently after watching other Quincy combat at the event in Karakura town, he is able to manifest a raw energy version of his bow. This bow in it's energy form is a nearly 5' long swirling mass of orange, red, and blue forming a long pole-like object he uses as a throwing weapon. Whether he's simply forming a unusable bow or a arrow is unknown to him. If he were able to manifest a physical form, one would immediately notice how it is less of a bow, and more of a sword-lance. A dark brass in color, it is ornately sculpted with several choke points along the 5' long handle leading up to it's blade which extends outwards a foot into the base of it's equally stunning blade. The blade is 2' in length etched with a floral pattern surrounding a tree of life. In bow form the blade dissipates and a string appears, once pulled back the 5' handle bows to become a great-bow.
[ THE STORY SO FAR ]
Origin:
A beautifully small town on the edge of Berlin saw the birth of an anomaly. A child so heavy in spiritual pressure that the mother practically vibrated during the delivery. Yes, thanks to Leea Evergreen and Midori Hana, Luca Evergreen saw the worlds light with nothing but the sky as his limit. While Midori was a normal human, Leea was no ordinary man, and due to this Leea hoped Luca could follow in his footsteps, leading a small group of Quincy that resided in Germany. His dreams fell short when Midori fell ill shortly after Luca arrived home from the hospital. This caused a chain reaction that eventually led to the family relocating back to Midori's hometown of Nagoya. This was not all bad however, as Luca found friends in his next door neighbors Charlotte and Minato. Together the three of them would reach new heights in anything they took on together, whether it music, academics, or athletics, the three had no rivals at their age.
Then at the age of six, Luca's mother passed. This loss in life was hard for each and every person in Luca's life, as they saw his unconditional smile slowly become a superficial one. Not long after Luca and his friends began helping his father run a bread shop that Leea decided to open in hopes of filling the while he lost along with his wife. Luca was ecstatic to be of help, and slowly returned to his old cheerful self.
Rise to Power:
Not long after the pain from his mother's passing began to fade Luca noticed a man who he believed to be his father at first glance following him as he went about his day at school and during play. Each and every time he tried to make contact however the man disappeared into thin air, troubling the small child greatly. As he grew the sightings became much more frequent, to the point where even Minato and Charlotte had noticed. Together the three planned a trap to see once and for all who this mysterious man was. Spending three days and nights planning and setting up in the late of night to hopefully not alert the man of their scheming, the three succeeded! With the man unable to escape Luca and his friends pounced only to be thrown backwards as the man rose out of their child-sized pitfall, towering over them as though he were a giant. As he menacingly inched closer Luca and his friends tried to run in fear but were trapped by some sort of blue magic. Just before they were about to be captured Luca let out a yell to tell the man to leave him alone, which was accompanied by a burst of spiritual pressure and wind which seemed to make the man stumble.
Clearly surprised by the attack, the children now full of a new-kindled bravery due to the release of Luca's new power ran at the man who gently grabbed all three holding them all in his arms as he began to laugh. Through the confusion of the children the man explained he was Luca's uncle, Mordecai, and that he would show Luca how to use the power he had just awakened. The power of a Quincy.
Dropping off Luca's friends Mordecai told Luca and his friends not to tell his father he was here yet as it was a surprise, intrigued by what had happened that night, he agreed. While suspicious his father did not pry as to why he and his friends were out so late, though it didn't take long for their normal activities to resume. For over a month Luca maintained his normal routines of schoolwork, helping out at the bread-shop, as well as slowly practicing and building an interest in music. His mind kept bugging him of the man, Mordecai who informed Luca to wait for him, as his training would come in the way of the Quincy. It wasn't much longer that Luca realized this man would not be coming, and after a year of keeping to his routine the boy began to think of it as a dream.
It was at the age of thirteen that his father seemed to suddenly become ill, just as his mother had. Keeping up with his duties he also tended to his father. This did not allow Luca the free time he had once cherished, and he was unable to practice music alongside his friends. With his fathers condition worsening, Luca tended to the shop more and more, and eventually lost all ability to attend school, opting for an online course. While worried, his friends helped as much as they could, only pestering him when absolutely necessary.
Fearing that he was nearing his deathbed, Luca's father brought out a letter one day addressed to both of them. It was sent by a M. Evergreen, who Luca presumed was his uncle he had seen so many years ago. Explaining to Luca that his uncle had come to him not long after their encounter, Leea forbade his brother from teaching Luca anything about the Quincy, though his father laughed at this and told him he thought his brother had been training Luca as it wasn't like Mordecai to listen to him. He had however received this letter just before he fell ill, stating that if Leea were to ever allow Luca to be taught the Quincy way, he needed assistance once Luca became strong enough. Handing Luca a few blue-bound books, Leea told him this would be day one of his training. Closing their shop, Luca spent many hours each day, for the next four years Luca trained his body and learned to control his power, while being taught the way and mindset of the Quincy from his father. Though weakened, he was dedicated to teaching his son, hoping to make him ready for anything that may come his way.
Call to Action: Though the day seemed like any other, he had trained, he had done his school work, talked to his friends, a dark aura seemed to surround Naguya and Karakura town that day. Nothing was thought of it, as Luca hoped it to be nothing than an approaching storm. This storm was much bigger than any other however, and soon Luca would come to realize the toll this day would take. While walking with his friends in Karakura town it seemed to become the area of battle, as none could leave. Protecting all he could, it seemed his efforts were not enough, even as he piled those unaffected into a cafe he was powerless to stop a Hollow from tearing apart those right in front of him. Before he was struck down along with a few others however, a woman with a blue energy about her came and saved their lives. Eradicating the Hollow surrounding the cafe, she was off and just like that Luca realized sitting in his home practicing with his father was not enough. He could not become strong enough to help others this way. He needed others, people he could rely on to not just be his friends, but to push him into new heights. To new strengths. With this realization Luca understood he needed to stop hiding and to become someone those around him could look up at and feel safe. He needed to become a Hero.
