Hello out there. I'm new...yeah well, so much was quite obvious. But I have read the rules and stuff for newbs for the last few days and I am thrilled to the love for detail here. I enjoyed watching and reading Bleach very much and been searching for an rpg for a while now. I hope I can find a (virtual) home here in this matter^^
Hm, one thing there is: I am no native speaker. I've seen some hints (well, they weren't really just hints;) ) that there is a great focus on writing quality in terms of grammar and spelling, so I really hope that I can live up to your standarts here. In fact I am looking for an rpg with a certain standart for quality, so I'll just have to work hard enough, I guess.
Two questions, if I may:
Where can I find something to read about the Gotei and the individual squads. As I understand it's the Gotei 5 and not Gotei 13 here.
Also I'd like to know how it's with activity: Sometimes the damned real live interferes with the really important stuff, like rpgs. Job, fiancé, friends...you know how it is. If I'm not mistaken the rules state that someone will be MIA after two weeks of being awol. But by communicating with my fellow players if there are busy times ahead this should all be no problem, right? Just keeping everyone that's effected by me in the loop, right?
Okay, I'll end this post now. I never really know what to write in introductions^^ If you want to know anything just ask. I usually don't bite. Unless you ask for that specifically.
I'm not too sure how up to date it all is, someone yell at me if I'm spreading fake news, but there are bunch of threads there that give information about each division.
Hello! I wouldn't worry too much about English not being your first language, I think there are a few players on here that have the same situation though I may be mistaken. Even if there aren't we're usually a pretty friendly bunch, so we wouldn't mind! You can find info on the current state of the Gotei under Seireitei where the pages for the individual divisions are pinned at the top of the page. We usually say that after about a month of not posting that a character is inactive, unless the player has made a coming/going post but for the most part the players are pretty active. So no worries there.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask! You should also stop by the discord (the 'Chat' tab on the top of the page should take you there) so we can say hello and all that jazz. There's also a player help channel there if you need more specific/immediate help
Edit: Welp. Seems like a couple people already beat me to it xD
seireitei stuff is as up to date as it can be consider inactive captains are a thing right now.
the two week rule is if you haven't been talking to your thread partner. always communicate with your threading friend and you'll never be punished in terms of inactivity
Hey, thanks to the warm and fast welcome. And thanks for the information as well
Hehe, I guess you can see from my question that I intend to create a shinigami-char. I hope it's not to heavily overcrowded in the seireitei (speaking of player chars only, I've red about the virus-thing for thinning out the npcs), but I have a really nice character idea I'd like to play. At least I think if's nice, I'll see what you guys think when I'm done with my app;)
But I'm planning on creating a Quincy someday, because I am in fact a big fan of archery in the real world. Doing it even myself. But aside from that I have no good ideas for a Quincy. So shinigami it'll be for now
Hey guys, a have one more question: could someone maybe give me a little help and advise before I send my application to be approved and rated? It is not proofread yet so anyone looking at it be aware
First I would need some help with the conversion metrical-imperial. I do have an app for that but I got confused with feet, inches and so on and am not sure if I picked the right units. So if someone who knows both systems well enough could help me out, that would be nice.
Second is that I'm not too sure about grammatical rules concerning commas and stuff. Will I be graded as hard as a native speaker? If yes it would be helpful to know so I can try to get it right if I haven't already.
I'm really trying hard but even as I love english and understand almost anything without problems, it is a foreign langiage to me and my job at retails doesn't give me much opportunity to oractice it speaking, let alone writing. My trips to London in 2016 were the last occasion on which I could practice my language skills in real life (apart from.one or two customers I have).
Heya. You don't need to worry too much about grading at the moment. Just create your app as much you can as well as complete it within the required words that the staff requests from you.
Don't worry too much about grammar at first. The most important thing is that make sure that you feel at home before you start doing posts. If you ask your thread partner I'm sure they will try and help you with the posts and again they will help you with the app as well. We did have to have Big sibling program but I think that may be inactive at the moment.
Big sibling program was disbanded like six months ago considering the discord made it a moot point.
But yeah, d ont worry too much about grammar and grading stuff just yet. You don't get graded until you complete a thread and even then you have to submit your application to the request board.
Oh yeah? So I can only be graded after completing one story/thread? Must have missed that in the rules and stuff. Okay. What a pitty, I put so much work in that app just kidding, I would have put the effort in anyway ir I wouldn't have been satisfied myself. Just need to proofread it
no matter what the effort will be noticed. you just don't need to worry about it being your absolute best before you can start roleplaying
also, because i didn't get to your other questions due to being at work:
to put it bluntly, we don't lower the standards for non-native speakers. don't let this discourage you, as some of our best and longest standing members have english as a second, or even third, language. Weylin, the man who pathed the road for Quincy as they are today, does not have english as his first language. and, if memory serves, he currently holds the record for having the most masteries earned (tied with a few other people).
that being said, we're a pretty open and friendly community (except hazuki; he's really blunt and doesn't have a way with words, but he means well most of the time), so don't be afraid to reach out on discord to ask for help if you need it.

also worth pointing out is that Weylin is one of only two quincy prestige characters ever which should tell you all you need to know about how far you can go as a non-native speaker
there are a few other native speakers who did very well for themselves and when push came to shove it wasn't their language skills that were holding them back, but rather their ability to tell a cohesive story
