“What else you want me to say? I’ll get someone from the KSN to check you out,” his tired voice spoke to the phone with fluent Japanese. Nine was talking over the phone with annoyance. Funnily enough, the phone itself was fake, a plastic display case, but real enough to a passing glance. KSN let him down again, they promised him that they’d send a few people to look out a few spiritualists under his protection and they didn’t. The group isn’t as what they used to be. The data pertaining to the KSN had been dwindling over the past year since the leader, Jian decided to leave with belief that the KSN is in good hands. Reality is this: It is not. Organisation is all over the place, there’s no one known enough to take lead and all the potentially useful members were either missing or ‘gone’.
“I’ll come over soon to see how you’re doing,” of course, he knew that they’re safe. Unethical that he was, he peeked through the surveillance camera on the other side of the town and they’re safe as they can be. The street was empty and not a single shadow lurking about. Where he was on the other hand was another story. The street was full of activity with people blitzing by, even more so as their phone ‘screamed’ by him with their monotonous tone of data uploading and downloading. He got used to it, but he couldn’t help but feeling nervous. He felt a chilling pulsating surge of spirit ripping across the street. It was near, and the pressure was harmless, but such immense spirit and he couldn’t help but made his way towards it.
He manipulated the data around him and spoke to the machines enough to gander further information and of course, a closed-circuit camera was the closest to the overwhelming spirit and it surprised him.
‘what is she doing here?’ the person in mind, a young girl was a known among the spiritual world. A person of authority – well, once – since she casted it all away for some reason. Mind you, Nine did thought of her as a tragic person, but he expressed no sympathy for her. None what so ever. His traversing to his destination was easier than wandering. People always seem to notice that someone was on the mission and do whatever it takes to get out of his way. It took him four minutes to reach the Café and the door opened. With him walking through he made a passing request to the waitress, an index finger pointing at the tea before moving over to the troublemaker girl and sat beside her. He glanced around and with his voice oozed out with a faint scorn.
“Control yourself. You’re causing a scene...” She doesn’t know him, and he doesn’t care. Expiring that amount of spiritual pressure, harmless or no is a threat nine would think. He looked over her for the first time with his piercing glare.
