It was surprising to find a locked door so far from the castle. Even if it was a former Espada tower, most of the huts and buildings that weren't right up against the castle had been long since vacated. Arrancar and Hollow alike had learned to at least huddle together in times of uncertainty. As primal and monstrous as they were, even their base instincts told them there was strength in numbers. Besides, between the failure of a woman who was doing a surprisingly good job at keeping the trash out and the other decently strong Arrancar that had stepped up, there was little carnage and an odd sort of peace within the decrepit walls of Las Noches. Indeed, it wasn't perfect and everything was still hell by every standard, but it was something.
So, back to the previous thought.
The woman with long, inky black hair stared curiously at the door before her, listening to it rattle on its hinges as she shook the handle a few more times. A decent human being would have humored a knock, or even called out to see if there was someone inside. Unfortunately, the woman was neither decent nor human. As casual as can be, a thick, black substance boiled around her fingers and then blasted the door straight from the wall. The cracked remains blasted into bits when it collided with the wall on the other side of the room.
Without hesitating, the woman stepped inside and peered around the Trecera's Tower. It was... surprisingly well maintained. For a brief moment, she worried that she had, in fact, barged in on someone's home, but the lack of immediate response eased her worries. So, she walked further inside, and looked around with curious eyes. Empty bookshelves and partially filled bookshelves lined the walls -- a good portion of them ruined thanks to the door being blown in. With nothing better to do, the woman approached one of the shelves still in tact and grabbed a random book. She flipped to a random page.
The book spoke of some sort of theory based around "merging the Reiatsu of the various races." The psychotic ramblings talked of a world inhabited by "pure" beings created from the aforementioned experiment, ushering in an age of peace. Just how crazy did you have to be to believe this stuff?
Quietly, engrossed by the book, the woman continued reading, unbothered by sounds of movement in the distance.
