Janus Smash
What's changed?
Janus lost her favorite place, her work, and most of her body before the five year time jump. This Arc is entirely about failing over and over again before getting one thing right.
Guestbook ::
Meeting the people who first showed up at the Guestbook caused Janus to see a future where a man she calls the nightmare, destroyed her bed and breakfast through sheer force. It was also the first time she had a situation diffused by a hollow breed.
A lost Soul ::
When Janus first stepped away from finding small trinkets and gambling dens for money, she was introduced to the greater spiritual community in more of a lucid dream as she was coming back from work one day and met Mine and Zero. The all powerful child that had so many futures that the world seemed to bleed around him. This lead to her being forced from her body, as she had done on occasion but not correctly for the first time. She wouldn’t know it then, but the natural state was her Fullbring. She chalked the entire experience up to a dream, or just generic insanity which was something Janus did very well.
Table for Two ::
Janus then met Sasha a few days after at her bed and breakfast and came to find herself in more confusion about whether or not her lucid dreams and timelines were even real at all. It was also the first time that Janus had learned about the spiritual racism in the world. Janus learned her own distaste for spiritual racism and overall being told what to do over the next few weeks because she was always spoken to as though she already knew something. Even, when Janus has no knowledge of what that was.
Entwining Fates ::
When Janus was already confused about how her power fit into the greater scheme of the world she was met by the former Queen of the Quincy. Being the second Quincy aside from Sasha, to meet Janus she learned that power in and of itself meant very little because she was sure that the explanations she had been getting were wrong. It also proved that she was hilariously, outgunned in anything she did. Janus isn't even a spec on the radar compared to other members of the spiritual community and her power to see the future really meant nothing when everyone had, fifteen things in their head. That or they seemed to have spread the knowledge on how to avoid divination around because people had the power as well, like Frey.
Unbidden Guest ::
Janus met the “Black Robe” that would eventually heal her body following her total loss in Alain Merrick. The man was the second person she ever met or came into contact with that seemed to have more power than anyone else she had seen besides the nightmare and the Queen. Her power proved useful during his search of a nearby laboratory to Karakura. This would mark the beginning of the fires of hope for the Diviner.
Aim at Me ::
Sasha showed up again, and Janus was rather happy. She began to think that with connections she could be ready to survive the world of nasty monsters, black robes, blue mages and everything in-between. This was the unfortunate turn because after this, Janus began to lose everything after just being given hope.
So I heard From A Friend ::
Janus lost everything in this thread. She started with her beloved bed and breakfast, a bit of hope that her power would be something helpful. Janus had it all taken away as the futures ran rampant showing her glimpses and images of things that could and might happen. Raphael was trying to read her mind when the number of futures overloaded the Diviner and caused her mind to crack. She managed to personally piss off his Inner Hollow enough to get her hope shattered. Janus lost, handedly, half her face melted off, skin burnt in a number of places, and her bed and breakfast. Tokei Aruki was destroyed in a fiery telekinetic tornado. Janus awoke in the hospital, scared and broken a few weeks later with nowhere to go but up.
Quid Pro Quo ::
Janus may not have been the most powerful, or the smartest, but she remembered Alain enough to find him again. She was scared and worse but she managed to make her way to him and get herself healed. Jeremy and Raphael had taken most of her livelihood so she used Alain and some training to get her mind off things.
Janus Smash ::
Janus found herself lost. She hadn’t gotten stronger as far as she could tell, and there were still pieces of the puzzle missing. While she had no real hope left, she still had drive. After all, she could see the future. That’s when she met the third god-like power, Rick Rodgers. Rick was different than everyone Janus had met up till then. Instead of trying to tell Janus what she needed to know according to him, he just set up baby steps for her to take herself. It was a much different approach than others had used on the Diviner and she responded well to it, short of breaking her hand on a wall. Janus eventually learned she could use spiritual power without her actual power. Which seemed to turn her spirits up a bit.
The Next Chapter
Time Slips into the Future ::
Five years later, and Janus is rather good at using her Gift alongside her Fullbring. She’s managed to buy a small office and she’s aiming on getting herself back on track with her usual amount of curiosity and killing the anguished cat. She still believes she’s pretty much powerless, but that’s to be expected from a woman who lost a fight with a wall and anything else that had attacked her. Janus is aiming to become better, because that’s really all she can do. Power, as far as she can tell, is achievable unlike when she started her journey. She’s going to start an information brokerage, and then attempt to dismantle the KSN. Janus would also like to cook more but the time for her isn’t really right. Plus she doesn’t want to open something very public if she can’t defend it.
