Eden
The Artist
"Your face is too symmetrical, your eyes, too dull. But fear not my dear, for I will make you
B E A U T I F U L."
[ AT A GLANCE ]
Age / Apparent Age: 136/19
Gender: Male
Height & Weight: 5'11" & 142 lbs
Hair & Eye Color: Black hair, silver eyes.
Positive Traits:
Cautious: Eden is a calculating individual, one of tact and acute mindfulness of his situation. In his mind, a man does nothing without reason; and thus he has learned to study the mannerisms of speech and of body language. He is a keen observer, and it is such that makes him a uniquely dangerous individual. He prefers to listen, rather than talk. He thinks over situations well in advance, and implements contingencies to coincide his elusive plans. His enigmatic nature keep others wary around him, and that was borne from his own wariness.
Well-mannered: Despite such caution and tact, Eden is a man of class. His facade projects the image of a chivalrous gentleman; observing even the most tedious of customs and courtesies. From his attitude and speech down to the way he sits, everything is paid close attention to, and is done to perfection. Even the slightest falter from such manners, Eden himself absconds as barbarism. He is a soft-spoken intellectual, who takes delight most keenly in theatre, poetry, and books.
Calm: The artist remains keen on his own ambitions, and is not thrown askew by emotions or grief when his plans fail or an obstacle is reached. He remains stoic and quiet when faced with adversity, and plans well in advance to ensure that if he is faced with such, there is always another option available. His exterior exudes confidence and gentleness. Very few extremes could push him into emotional instability, despite his apparent madness.
Negative Traits:
Cynical: Eden believes that everyone, regardless of morality, are motivated solely by their own self interest. He maintains a severe distrust in human sincerity and integrity. Eden will quickly disregard accepted or otherwise 'Appropriate' standards to achieve his goals. He does not believe in things like destiny, morality or fate; he believes that the only deciding factor in the world is a man's own will and decisions. This attitude has lead him to be distant and uncaring in decisive situations and makes it impossible for Eden to form lasting, meaningful relationships. His darwinistic philosophy is hidden by the facade of a gentle smile and pretty words, yet his mind casts an arrogant, self serving vision.
Pessimistic: Eden's cynical attitude has lead him to have a rather bleak outlook on life. It is only through his visions that his spirit comes alive with joy and ecstasy. Those brief moments are what keeps Eden going; to create his perfect masterpiece is the only reason for living, and all other reasons are but fleeting, irrelevant dreams. He lives for the euphoria of performance, nothing more.
Unpredictable: This trait tends to be a negative more than a positive, especially when one is completely unaware when next his suppressed psychosis will burst through his delicate act. Eden himself cannot control this seemingly primal part of himself. Though this makes him quite dangerous, it could also cause his plans to falter, forcing him to retreat and rely on his more underhanded tactics. It is his madness that makes him impossible to predict, and why he must also be wary of himself, at all times.
Loyalties: Himself, "The Performance"

[ ON THE SURFACE ]
Physical Description:
Eden's hair is a fine silken pitch in color, fairly long, tempered and matted atop his head. He maintains it regularly, ensuring a perfect length and that it slicks back to reveal the fullness of his face with gel of a sweet-scenting aroma. Just as finely groomed as his persona and mannerisms. His eyes are a wispy, glimmering silver hue seeming as empty and fragile as glass; as shallow as a drop of water. Through those orbs, so delicate, one would think they could see right through him. They maintain at all times a calm, shy glance, maintaining that odd, brittle glimmer as if to fade away at any moment.
The artist is pale-skinned of purely northern european descent. Though he never grew to adulthood in life, it is blatant that his appearance had certainly warped from what it was destined to be. Such is the side effect of death at such a young age. He sports a young, refined visage; white, youthful and creamy like the cold face of a young youth's corpse. He sports a refined jawline, and a single beauty-mark on his upper left cheek. His tall, lithe frame, reminiscent of the likes of a greek statue. Despite his skinny and otherwise un-masculine stature, his musculature had been well-refined, toned to the point of physical perfection. Eden tends to always claim a smile over his visage, and though it usually a simple act; it is enough to maintain a warm and inviting presence. He walks tall, with a perfect, refined posture, the envy of class itself.
His voice is calm and quiet; it carries an air of mellifluousness and enigma. People are drawn to the beauty of his vocals, caressing the ears gently, like a lover's embrace. His words sound kind, even if he is insulting, calm even when flustered, and sonorous even when cast into madness. Hearing him speak puts one's mind at ease, or, makes them even more uncomfortable; depending on the situation.
Being a master of disguise calls more a full wardrobe of different garbs, but Eden most usually wears his shihakusho. There is nothing immaculate about these standard shinigami robes, loosely fitting around his frame in a baggy manner; for they were meant to fit a larger frame, before Eden 'appropriated' it. The scabbard that sheathed his ornate dandao was a simple, black, tempered wooden sheath tied beneath his white robe-belt.
Spiritual Description: As mysterious and enigmatic as the body and mind that exert it; Eden spiritual pressure is a thin, translucent aura; barely visible even to the most adept of reiatsu clairvoyance. There is no malice or danger, only the calm, almost nonexistent flow. One cannot sense or see emotion in it almost as if the soul itself is made of pure apathy; nor does it ever waver or spiral out of control. Even when Eden exudes his power, it remains that wispy, fading gleam that never remains for long. The keener of those who can sense his presence, can hear the faint playing of soothing, classical music. It is a rather ominous thing, the chiming of violins and cellos; the crescendo of an orchestra faint as the fleeting wind as his sword cleaves flawlessly through flesh and bone. It is as beautiful as it is horrifying. It is these maddening hymns that keep him company in the long nights of slaughter and guile.
God's lovely masterpiece: After leaving a victim behind to display, his reiatsu lingers behind. It melts perfectly in unison with the victim, creating a masque of madness and lingering dread. Those who see the mangled corpses of Eden's work, stare into the abysmal nothingness of his passive reiatsu. Those without strong mental fortitude are driven mad, and others, are haunted eternally by his art. This is the devastating emotional affect not only of his work, but the influence of his remaining, virtually untraceable presence. This also clouds his identity in superstition, mass hysteria believing that only the most nefarious and elusive of hollow could commit such atrocious acts. When he displays his art upon hollows, their bodies do not immediately fade to dust; instead his reiatsu forces their corpses to linger for a time, enough to show the world his great works.
[ BEHIND THE EYES ]
Personality: A soft spoken intellectual, this renowned gentleman never veers from that telltale smirk that can easily enrapture an audience. Yet beneath the thin surface of his facade is the lingering hunger to perform again; it is an instinct that drives him mad, and so the actor must act, for his life and well-being depends upon it.
Eden's defining attributes are also his most untrue. His persona was engineered and tailored solely to capture the hearts and minds of those whom surrounded him. A man of refined class and distinction, of honor and of taste. Eden is the heart of the party with his unmatched charisma and charm; his unique choice of words and practiced speech and body language. The man can weave epics and allegories with the tip of his tongue to capture an audience in awe of his tales and poetics given in flawless execution. He is also incredibly dramatic, and will go out of his way to make a situation more flamboyant and exaggerated if it means bringing more life and character to it. Because of this, he can at times be flamboyant, and dramatic even in situations where drama is the least necessary attribute. In conclusion, his facade is that of a charming playboy, a wealthy philanthropist who devotes his life to the welfare of others.
Though, this could not be further from the truth. Eden is a murderous, cynical madman who's insanity dances on the very edges of his thin periphery; threatening to, at any moment, shatter through his delicate act and throw him into a mad waltz of blood. It is a hunger he feeds on those rare, silent occurrences, and must work tirelessly to keep at bay in order to maintain his facade. Eden finds no joy or purpose in the word but to complete his work. He believes that all people were placed on the earth for solely him, so that he may use them to paint his greatest masterpiece to one day present to God, and be immortalized by his work. Every other dream is but a means to an end in this grand scheme. Eden cares only for the furthering of his own enigmatic goals, and those that get in his way become the newest addition to his vast collection of works. Eden, despite his facade, is a nihilistic serial killer; who selfishly focuses on himself and he furthering of his
Goals & Achievements: This is where you briefly talk about things your character has done in the past, or things they want to do. Please note that you cannot have had any previous position of notable power (such as lieutenant or captain), however mentioning that you were once a seated officer in a certain division is very relevant information. This is a very good place to start a foundation of your story and make notes on the general direction of where you want to go with your character. Above all else, keep your goals reasonable; it was be a little ludicrous to go out the gate wanting to be Captain Commander. However, feel free to update this as you progress, so players have easy access to your current plans and accomplishments.
[ GUARDIAN ANGEL ]
Zanpakutō Spirit: Zanpakutō Spirits are the mentors and guides of Shinigami. They serve as the balance to their soul and guides the wielder towards strength. Commonly, Spirits are seen as a Yin to the Shinigami’s Yang, however being direct opposites is not required. The Spirit must allow a different perspective that the Shinigami needs to embrace in order to grow.
Spirits can look like anything and act like anything -- don’t be afraid to bind them to a standard human or wolf. Be as creative as possible, as these are the true expression of your character’s soul. More importantly, Spirits are not friends, nor are they enemies: they are guiders. A relationship with a Spirit should not necessarily start out on good or bad terms, unless you have a reasonable foundation for that conflict or lack thereof.
Inner World: Much like the Spirit, the Inner World is an expression of the soul. It represents how the Shinigami feels about themselves on a subconscious level. Not only that, it is the only place where they can interact with their Spirit and, typically, the Spirit has far more control over this “realm” than the Shinigami themselves.
Power: A brief (1-2 sentences) summary of your power. This only needs to be as complex or as simple as you want it to be, but remember that the full write up belongs in your second post!
Zanpakutō: Most Shinigami have a standard katana as their weapon and, when unreleased, your weapon should fall under that as well. Unless you have a solid reasoning for not having the standard weapon, consider sticking to the basics for this one.
However, your released Zanpakutō should look like something that either represents their Spirit, or the power itself. Either way, feel free to be creative here and use things that might not traditionally be considered a weapon. While nothing can beat a good ol’ fashioned sword, having something that compliments your power is always worth looking into.
[ LEGACY CREATED ]
Origin: Each of these three sections should be at least a full paragraph (5-7 complete sentences). In your origin, you should talk about where your character was born, describe their death (if applicable) and talk about their time in the Rukongai. This should stop right at the part where they develop enough power to be accepted into the Academy.
Rise to Power: Rise to Power should include the Academy and any time you have spent grinding through the rank and file Shinigami events. This would include you unlocking Shikai and most of your notable events in your history. This is where you explain how your character has gotten so strong.
Call to Action: This is where you talk about the event(s) that made your character shift from an NPC to a player character. For whatever reason, they need to be pulled away from the daily grind and put into the spotlight. In this section, you’ll want to highlight that event(s) and justify why your character is they way they are today.
