I haven't verified this myself, but I heard there was even shit as recently as him threatening to bring in Hazumi to deal with people who don't like Otto. Nothing forces you to pay attention like a "If you ignore or go against my my prestige level Shinigami gon' attack you." statement.

I just have a couple questions about the post-time skip thread required for the bonus.
Does this thread have to be with others, or can it be a solo thread? Also, what would be required to be in the thread for it to be worth the bonus? You compare it to a legendary challenge claim, but does it have to be revolutionary for our characters? Or can it just show what direction we're taking our characters in response to this event?
EDIT: I think I was reading it wrong. I asked about solo threads because I thought it said the thread had to be finished by Feb. 10th which would give only 4 days to finish the thread, that was concerning. My question still stands but more for just the sake of asking it rather than it being an immediate concern.
Speaking purely from the situation of someone who moved the few threads they did to a prologue in preparation to use this as a motivator for my character in their first arc, a plot device to get Kalen off his butt and start doing things, I find it very difficult to imagine writing something as eventful as a legendary challenge for the first thread of my first arc. It seems tedious to wait through several threads until something has happened to my character that is influential enough to be put on the same level as a legendary challenge.
One more thing just for clarity, I may be reading it wrong so apologies if I'm being stupid here. When you say that threads taking place during the time skip will receive GP at normal rates, do you mean normal rates for current time threads or average rates for threads that take place in the past? (Pendulum threads? Have they always been called that?)

~Thread type doesn't matter. Solo, group, whateves. ~The thread just needs to happen during or after the timeskip. So within the five years that we fastforwarded and/or "present" day in-character. There's no in-character requirements. ~There is no difference in gp gain from TBTP threads and normal threads. All threads earn 1gp/50 words as per usual.
In practical terms, we also realize that it is unlikely characters will simply have sat on their hands waiting to age for five years, and to help represent this we will be implementing a one-time bonus of 1,000 non-base GP for all characters finished on or before February 10th. In order to become eligible for this bonus, characters must finish at least one post-timeskip thread, at which point this bonus can be claimed as if it were a Legendary Challenge or similar. Characters will of course earn standard GP rates for any Pendulum threads that occur during the timeskip, but important to note is that simply stating that your character has changed during the timeskip is not enough to motivate a milestone. As always, milestones require this change to be shown.
I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice by having your first post-timeskip thread be a solo, but the point is to acknowledge and come to terms with the fact that time has passed more than anything else. If you can do that in a solo thread there's no real reason to say it wouldn't qualify. As for the legendary challenge bit, that's just an example of another straight non-base GP-type claim. You'll note the word was "claimed", not "requested".
Pendulum threads and normal threads earn the same amount of GP.
