Milestone #1: TLC Means "Tough Luck, Cunt"
Current Base GP: 2,159
Desired Base GP: 2,500
Overview: This is the introduction and establishing milestone for Saya. The only thread that really never saw light/development was the one with Jinhai, but that one was never intended to showcase character growth -- it was more for the mastery. I decided to include it due to the foreshadowing of her meeting her spirit, though.
Anyways, onto the overview. To summarize Saya's history, she came from a large human trafficking gig in the Rukongai. Noboru ultimately rescued her from that shitty life and introduced her into the Shinigami life. She learns to read, write, all that jazz and starts, quite literally, from the bottom. You can see a lot of the "bright eyed, busy tailed" mannerisms she has in the first three threads. She works hard at everything, constantly wants to look professional, and takes her career more seriously than she really should. After all, this is her "second chance" in a sense.
In attempts to stand out and make herself known as someone worth knowing, she jumps on the "quincy are bad, mkay" train and quickly earns permission to go on a Lucas hunting mission (as seen in Apex). It's also around this time that she starts to show interest in the PSO and tries to gear herself up for a transfer there. However, a lot of her plans and dreams get a wrench thrown directly at them during the rather messy and nearly life-ending mission she signed up for.
The fight with Lucas, while not ending in her capturing him, was a modest victory in her book. She kicked his ass, got a lot of relevant information about the Quincy and their powers, and she's feeling good about it. Never mind the fact she lost her Zanpakutou in the aftermath and is pretty much stranded there. She doesn't even have a spirit yet, so she doesn't care much about that detail. She'll just wait for someone to come rescue--
Ahaha, no. She very quickly gets jumped by the ravenous Rainier and, while getting eaten alive (literally) she finally meets her Zanpakutou spirit, awakens her power, and flees by the hairs on her chinny-chin-chin. This is no longer the decisive victory she had been hoping for, but the fact that she made it out alive should speak volumes for how well she handles herself and can manage--
Ahaha, no, again. Again, her assumptions are completely destroyed by a brief, harsh interview with Hazuki. Just shortly after recovery, Saya goes through with her requested interview only for everything she had worked so hard for to get thrown in her face. A pretty thorough shaming that leaves her broken, alone, and uncertain about her future.
Saya is very much in that tender, ready to grow phase which will expand and grow into something more substantial during and after the plague. For now, however, I think she's at a good spot to earn a bit of developmental growth.
TL;DR: Became a Shinigami, accepted into the Second, and then goes through hell and back trying to prove herself. Hazuki ultimately denies her interview for the PSO.
Threads Only:
Assets and Assumptions /w Shinpei [Introduction Thread]
Admirable Ambitions w/ Jinhai [Supplementary Thread]
Apex w/ Kasumi [Preliminary Thread]
Just One Night w/ Lucas [Preliminary Thread]
Sometimes the Bear Gets You w/ Rainier [Preliminary Thread]
Bureau of Justice w/ Hazuki [Climax Thread]
