It had been a long time since Cressida had been back to Karakura, after all she thought she was done with this city for the foreseeable decade. However, after the visit by Fionn to her estate she was deeply concerned about the affairs of the demonic souls and the lack of their natural enemy. Wandering through the streets early into the night, she noted the lack of a particular reiatsu as she couldn't sense the familiar aura of a god of death. However the hollow population seemed to have increased as well was the wandering souls, the Plus, Cressida never noticed so many. She started to see how horrible the consequences of the plague really were.
Wandering through a street, she saw what appeared to be a kid crying sitting on the side walk, Cressida paced down the street to get a closer look at the scene. The kid didn't look older than eight as he was wearing a school uniform, Cressida knelled down to look more closely. "Hey kiddo, what's going on?" Cressida caught notice of the chain hanging from his chest. It made her sick to her stomach that such a young kid died so early into his life. But then started to panic inside as she feared the same happening to her own daughter. The kid barely got a few words out as he tried to speak. "Mommy and daddy, they didn't see the monster. The monster got us, I can't find mommy, I can't find daddy..."
Cressida saw that his chain of fate was crumbling quickly, she wished she could save his soul, however she didn't want him to suffer through the fate of hollowfication. She cooed the boy with her next words as she pulled a Seele Schnieder from her coat. "It's alright, close your eyes, clear your mind. Think of mommy and daddy, I can send you to be with them, Just don't open your eyes.". Before the young boy could respond with words, Cressida stood back up as her Seele Schneider gathered a reishi blade. She closed her eyes as she already mapped out the swing. In a swift motion she decapitated the young spirit, letting his spiritual body decompose back into reishi.
Scattering the reishi back into air, she put her Seele Schneider back inside her coat as she kept walking through the streets, now horrified by the situation of souls. She walked town the street to find a vending machine, struggling with the machine for two minutes as it was not counting her cash as in the machine. Eventually she managed to get a bottle of water. Sitting on a nearby bench she barely drank anything as she ended up pulling out her phone to look at the lock screen image of her daughter, wondering if she should've ever left home.
