These aren't posted in order of my "mains," necessarily. I have not filled out the GP for Ráfaga yet: I will do that if/when he is accepted. I will also complete my Quincy later.
SAKUMA, TAKASHI

Unseated, Second Division
Personnel File
Age / Apparent Age: ~150/25
Gender: Male
Height & Weight: 176 cm (5'9) & 73 kg (160 lbs)
Hair & Eye Color: Short, messy brown hair with a single long strand braided behind his right ear, amber eyes
Positive Traits: Observant, modest, respectful
Negative Traits: Duty-obsessed, humorless, self-doubting
Physical Specifications
Physical Description: Takashi has a slightly tall, narrow build and appears to be in his mid to late twenties. Despite being rather lean, he has some definition to his muscles, although the angular way in which his bones stick out makes it appear as though he is still recovering from his years spent in malnutrition. Others often describe him as “having a long face,” but in reality his features are rather delicate. His skin is naturally light, but because of his near-constant exposure to the elements it has become tanned and weathered. He has a square chin and soft jaw-line, a small sharp nose, and long, thin eyebrows that slant down towards his eyes. His eyes have a slight curve to them and are amber in color, with notably small pupils which appear to be in a constantly constricted state. His most striking feature is the thin, jagged scar that runs diagonally across the bridge of his nose and between his eyes, stretching from his forehead to his cheek.
Takashi has short, light brown hair that has a messy and somewhat “feathery” look to it. He has a slender, shoulder-length braid behind his left ear that he tightly wraps with cloth, sometimes weaving feathers into the tail. Before becoming a Shinigami, his hair was longer and much more unkempt. However, this speaks more to his modesty than his carelessness, as he simply keeps himself presentable as a member of the Gotei and does not bother attempting to enhance his appearance further. Along with the standard Shinigami Shihakushō, which he has left unaltered, he wears a leather shoulder pad and gauntlet to accommodate his hawk.
Spiritual Description: Takashi's Reiatsu is deep crimson in color and feels "predatory" to his opponents when released, as though a hunter has fully focused upon a target.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Takashi is a calm and perceptive individual. He is unassuming, both in his view of others and in his bearing. This means that he is generally very respectful towards others, whether they are his superiors or his subordinates, and is mild in manner and speech. However, this does not mean he respects them on a personal level, but that he is capable of demonstrating external decorum regardless of his true feelings. Nevertheless, he remains essentially humble in nature, taking pride in the honor of his position but not considering himself above those he has sworn to protect. Because of this, he finds it much easier to interact with the common souls of the Rukongai, and they are more ready to accept him as one of their own.
Takashi is solemn in expression and serious about his responsibility as a Shinigami, which is likely the main reason he was placed into the Second Division. His competence also helped him to stand out from fellow recruits, as he is highly observant of his surroundings. His intuition in battle is often disconcertingly accurate, enabling him to make critical decisions quickly and strategically. He is also capable of separating his emotions from whatever mission he is assigned, pushing aside his personal feelings in order to accomplish the task at hand.
However, his obsession with duty, when taken to extremes, can allow him to lose himself as he becomes entirely consumed with achieving his objective. This psychological distance allows him to become incredibly violent, apparently heedless of the consequences of his actions. Afterwards, he will blame himself for not exercising better moral judgement or self-control in the heat of the moment. As such, he still doubts himself and has a low level of self-confidence, as he does not believe himself to be worthy of wielding power as a Shinigami due to what he has done in the past.
Yet Takashi also has a gentle and caring side, as revealed by the manner in which he treats his hawk. He has an immense capacity to empathize with others, and has most often been described by others as being “a man of great personal integrity.” Reflecting of this is his underlying goal, as he hopes to help reconcile the Shinigami and the Rukon souls, believing that it is up to the Shinigami to make amends for their past crimes. This frequently places him at odds within his division's mentality. At first, Takashi's devotion to duty out-weighed any personal qualms he held about the Second’s methods. However, as he has come to see the extent of the abuses carried out by the Gotei, he has become more and more conflicted over his own complicitness within the Division. Thus, he is currently struggling between holding to the loyalty he swore to his Division and being true to his own conscience.
Racial File
Inner Spirit and Inner World: The true name of Takashi's Zanpakutō is Aka no Tsume, (赤の爪, "Red Talon"). The most unusual aspect about the spirit of Takashi's Zanpakutō is that it has the ability to interact with the external world through inhabiting a vessel. In this case, the vessel is the body of a hawk. Before awakening his Zanpakutō, Takashi gave the name of Kohaku (琥珀, lit. "amber") to his hawk when she was a juvenile (and possessed lighter, yellowish chest feathers). He still calls her this even after the spirit of his Zanpakutō inhabited the bird. Most interesting about his relationship with his hawk is that he is able to form a telepathic mind link with her outside of Jinzen, which allows him to see and feel what she is seeing and feeling, and vice versa. This allows him to communicate rather fluidly with the spirit of his Zanpakutō that inhabits the hawk’s body.
When inside his inner world, the spirit of his Zanpakutō resembles a young girl with wings as opposed to arms, covered in a vestige of august feathers. She has a long, reddish brown mane of feathers as opposed to hair, dark skin, and piercing amber eyes. Personality-wise, she is far more vicious than Takashi, often relying on a savage, predatory instinct to swoop down on an opponent in combat, tearing her prey to shreds without reservation. That said, she truly cares for Takashi and is concerned that his own private fears and doubts have held him back. She desires, more than anything, to be able to soar freely without inhibition, but Takashi's own weaknesses limit her abilities.
Takashi's inner world resembles the district in which he was born. A vast wilderness stretches out in all directions: the clear, deep blue sky of late autumn comes down to touch distant, hazy mountain ranges that form a wide basin filled with grass. In the center of this plain is a spreading maple tree, much larger than any seen in the physical world, whose ancient, twisted bark curls around itself, with branches full of red leaves. Aka no Tsume is typically found perching somewhere in the tree's branches, scouting out the field around her as though she is hunting for movement in the grass.
Zanpakuto: The sealed form of Takashi's Zanpakutou resembles that of a normal katana, with a bronze tsuba and a red saya and hilt. He inherited the sword from his father, who used the same Asasuchi with another Spirit. Since the spirit of Takashi’s Zanpakutō has linked with that of his hawk it is also able to observe the outside world more directly than other Zanpakutō.
Documented History
Origin: Takashi was born as a pure soul to the lesser-noble Sakuma clan about 150 years ago. The Sakuma family was somewhat unique in that they were specially tasked as wardens of the Sekkiseki reserves located in the Akiyama District of west Rukongai. Nonetheless, as a member of the Gotei, Takashi’s father had to report to the Seireitei on a regular basis, and as such he was often away from his family. Takashi craved his father’s attention as a result, and tried to spend as much time as possible with him whenever he was at the Sakuma estate. Wishing to follow in his father’s footsteps, Takashi began training in kenjutsu, and soon developed a strong proficiency in swordsmanship despite his young age.
Throughout Takashi’s childhood there was worsening tension between the Sakuma household and the Miura clan, a powerful landholding merchant-class family whose lands bordered the Sakuma’s. Takashi’s father wanted to broker peace with the Miura, but the Gotei pressured him to use force, taking his pacifistic ideals as a sign of treachery. When Takashi’s father began to correspond with a member of the Miura without alerting the Seireitei, he was deemed a traitor.
A short time later, Takashi and his father returned home after hunting one day and found that the Sakuma estate had been ransacked. Upon entering the house they discovered that all the servants and every member of the Sakuma family had been killed, including Takashi's mother and infant sister. Without a word, Takashi’s father took his Zanpakutou in hand and left for town to avenge his family. After overcoming his initial shock, Takashi followed after him, but by the time he reached him it was too late: his father had fallen into the trap the Miura had set for him, and Takashi watched in horror as his father was executed by the detachment of Shinigami sent from the Gotei, who beheaded him right in front of his eyes. Distraught, Takashi pushed through the crowd and rushed to attack the Shinigami. He was taken out with one hit. The stroke that fell across his face gave him his signature scar, and he was left for dead in the street right next to his father’s headless body.
Takashi was rescued by Issei Endou, a close friend of his father’s, who took him back to his home and essentially adopted him. Under his new guardian’s care, Takashi made a slow recovery, although the nightmares never truly went away. He later learned that the position the Sakuma had once held had been given to the Miura after his clan had been massacred, leaving him with nothing but a name. Takashi was bitter after the tragedy, and was always at odds with his foster parents, often storming out on his own to return to the forests that were so familiar to him. It was on one of these occasions that he found his hawk, who had injured her wing and was struggling to free herself from a tangle of branches. Takashi saved her, brought her back with him, and nursed her back to health, although she did more to heal his wounded spirit than anything he did for her. It was also during this time when Takashi began to train under Issei at the kenjutsu dōjō where the latter secretly trained residents of Akiyama in kenjutsu. At first, Issei was hesitant to instruct him because he knew of Takashi’s angry and reckless nature and feared he would use what he taught him for harm. His concerns proved correct, as Takashi had sworn to himself that he would one day exact revenge on the Miura, who he blamed for the murder of his family.
Years passed, and Takashi finally took it upon himself to carry out his revenge. He confronted the Miura and challenged the head of the family to a duel. After defeating several of the Miura’s hired swordsmen in the ensuing fight, Takashi announced his name and the name of his father. But the Miura barely remembered the Sakuma, and Takashi realized that his desire for revenge and all his efforts had been meaningless. He ran from the Miura and returned to his family’s old house, which by then lay in ruin. He wandered listlessly through the empty rooms, unsure of what he searched for. In the stillness and nostalgia, the weight of loss suddenly fell upon him, and for the first time since his family’s death he truly grieved. But as night descended the Miura, who had waited until dark to follow him, sprang on him in an ambush. In a frenzy, Takashi proceeded to kill every man at arms who attacked him, unknowingly aided by his awakening Zanpakutō. He then set fire to the house, erasing everything within that reminded him of the past.
Having sustained heavy injuries during the battle, Takashi wandered delirious into the forest, and his wounds eventually caused him to succumb to a fever. During this weakened state the spirit of Takashi's Zanpakutō first approached him, and helped to sustain him and heal his wounds. It was also this time that the spirit of his Zanpakutō came to inhabit the body of his hawk. After recovering, Takashi left Akiyama for good as there was nothing left for him there. He scratched out a living as a rōnin swordsman, meeting with hardship, danger, and failure again and again as he travelled throughout the Rukongai.
A few years before the outbreak of the plague, Takashi came across a unit of Shinigami from the Second Division, who were struggling against a Hollow who had emerged in the Rukongai. Even though Takashi helped them to defeat the Hollow, he was arrested on the grounds of illegally possessing a Zanpakutō and taken to the Gotei, although he was later cleared of these charges. Takashi was then placed in the Shin'ō Academy, where he was given a cursory education in Kidō and the other forms of Zankensōki in which he lacked proficiency. Having already attained Shikai, he was able to graduate in a relatively short amount of time and was conscripted by the Second Division. Takashi’s ideals soon came to be at odds with that of the Onmitsukidō. While he did not hate the Gotei, he hated the way in which Rukon souls were treated—often as expendable resources largely ignored by the Gotei—and resolved to change this mentality from the inside out. However, he found himself increasingly forced to set aside those personal convictions in the line of duty. Ever modest and respectful in voicing his own opinions, Takashi did not make his disagreements with the Onmitsukidō’s methods known to his superior officers, and as a result became increasingly dissatisfied and conflicted with his responsibilities as a Shinigami.
Call to Action: Somehow, Takashi managed to miraculously weather the plague that had wracked the Seireitei five years ago. As the Shinigami around him continued to fall one by one, he continued to carry out his duties stoically while attempting to ignore the suffering around him. He knew that if he began to empathize with the plight of the victims, he would fall into a pit from which he would be unable to pull himself out of. Beneath the new burden of grief and stress, Takashi sealed shut the cracks that had begun to show in his hardened exterior towards his fellow members of the Gotei. Perhaps exacerbated by this dangerous emotional state, the Aka no Tsume has begun to whisper his name again after five years of silence. It is an instinctual appeal, drawing him towards the desire to give into his Zanpakutō—to give into the bloodlust that he has always resisted.
Stats, Skills, and Powers
First Release: "Tear into flesh and bone, Aka no Tsume"
Effects: By striking an opponent and drawing blood, Takashi is able to increase his speed incrementally until he is able to move at much higher speeds than before and react to high-speed attacks from his opponents.
Description: The release command for Takashi’s Zanpakutou is "Tear into flesh and bone" (骨身に劈く, honemi ni tsunzaku). The sword does not change its shape, but the blade edge turns a blood red. Takashi utilizes the Shikai by striking an opponent and drawing blood. Each additional mark after that increases his speed and perception of his opponent in small increments. Eventually, he is able to move at much higher speeds than before, as well as react to high-speed attacks from his opponents.
However, in reality, Takashi is not increasing his base level of speed, but rather “unlocking” the reiatsu he has repressed until he releases his Zanpakutou. This is because, unbeknownst to Takashi, he is also repressing the spirit of his Zanpakutou. As such, he has not yet attained the true form of his Shikai, and his release is therefore an approximation of a Shikai. In other words, he is only using a small amount of his total speed until he has released his Zanpakutou, at which point he can eventually reach his cap.

Height & Weight: 200 cm (6’7), 95 kg (210 lbs)

Positive Traits: Focused, decisive, empathetic, honorable
Negative Traits: Remorseless, self-deluded, resentful, cruel
Physical Specifications
Physical Description: Monstrous. That is one word that could describe Ráfaga’s appearance. With broad shoulders and a sinewy, muscle-bound form, he strikes an imposing figure as he towers over most humans and Shinigami. The manner in which he carries himself adds to his intimidating presence, as he walks with animalistic grace, as though he is just barely constraining the instinct to attack his prey. Like many highly evolved Adjuchas, his form was nearly completely human before becoming an Arrancar, although he preserves an “otherworldly” aspect to his appearance as his discolored grayish skin recalls that of a corpse, and his wildy unkempt, shoulder-length dark brown hair resembles the mane of a wild animal. Ráfaga’s pectoral and abdominal muscles appear to be chiseled out of granite, and even though his limbs are lankier, the muscles of his arms and legs are also well-defined. As opposed to creating aesthetic appeal, however, his built frame implies a life that consisted of a constant struggle for survival; conveying strength born of sheer necessity, like the body of a predatory animal. That said, Ráfaga’s skin is surprisingly free of blemishes or scars, further contributing to his somewhat otherworldly appearance. The only evident marks on his skin are the red, rectangular estigma that extend from the lower corners of his eyes. The fragments of his Hollow mask are not immediately obvious, as they are not located on his face. Instead, Ráfaga boasts three, blood-red magatama affixed to his collar bones, which form a necklace reminiscent of an ancient shaman’s. He also has two red protrusions on either side of his head which resemble tube-shaped clasps, although their origin and purpose is unknown. His eyes match the color of the magatama and appear entirely inhuman, as the irises are blood-red in color, lack pupils, and are surrounded by black sclera.
Ráfaga seems to “wear” a hodge-podge assortment of various pieces of armor and clothing, which are of course vestiges of his form as an Adjuchas. A fragment of a woven odoshi cuirass lies above the center of his chest, covering his Hollow's hole, and tattered scraps of black pauldrons cling to his shoulders. The armor on his arms is the most complete, with the red-fabric sleeves apparently attached by thick hemp cords. His ubiquitous waraji also appear to be made of hemp. Peculiar, branch-like stubs protrude from the elbows of the black gauntlets. His flowing black hakama are secured by a red sash, completing his attire.
Spiritual Description: While releasing his spiritual pressure, Ráfaga’s eyes glow with a sinister, crimson light, which is the same color as his reiatsu. His reiatsu feels stifling—not for the amount but rather for the strong resentment it carries. The overwhelming desire for vengeance drowns out any other sentiment, wrapping tightly around the heart like the cords of a tightening net. Fortunately, this is merely a general effect, as those who experience his reiatsu are not typically the object of his grudge.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Despite the resentment that defines the core of his being, Ráfaga is unlike the vast majority of Hollows as he does not seem to react based solely on gut instinct, nor does he seem to be inherently arrogant or malicious upon first glance. Instead, he is a surprisingly mellow and focused individual. He is not easily distracted by the taunts of an opponent, for example, and will calmly analyze a situation before accepting it at face value. Nonetheless, this also means he is rather indifferent to the personal motivations and viewpoints of those around him, as typically someone’s philosophy lies outside the scope of his focus. Thus, if his objective is to win a battle, that is what he has set his mind to do, and he will not tolerate distraction. This can also be described by his decisive nature, as he is not prone to consider all the different facets of a particular situation. Rather, he will merely decide upon a course of action based on what seems most convenient or effective at the moment and follow through with it.
Somewhat paradoxically, Ráfaga is also a highly empathetic individual, as he can easily identify with others and understand their emotional viewpoint. However, understanding someone does not necessarily mean he cares about them on a personal level, as Ráfaga displays the odd ability to separate identifying with someone from his person actions against them. He also apparently holds to a personal system of honor, although this “system” appears to be rather nebulous and subjective or arbitrary. However, one specific tenet seems to be that he does not believe in attacking someone unless they are aware that they are being hunted, which often conflicts with the nature of his abilities. Another aspect is that, even though he will typically ignore the personal philosophy of an opponent, once they have won his respect he will seek to understand their mindset, even if he still intends to destroy them in the end.
Beneath the thin veneer of his supposed “human” nature, however, Ráfaga is revealed to be as broken and empty of a soul as any other Hollow. He is remorseless, holding no regrets or guilt about what he has done in the past and having no qualms about killing again. He is also self-deluded, as he is both incapable of seeing any hypocrisy within himself and believes that his cause is always just. This is partly why he holds no remorse, as he does not believe himself to ever be in the wrong. As a decisive individual, since he has already determined that he is right, there is no convincing him otherwise. His self-delusion also contributes to his pathological sense of resentment, as he sees himself the victim of a cruel joke played by the universe. Therefore, his vengeance is perfectly justified, allowing him to carry out any act of cruelty himself. In fact, he often uses his sense of empathy to prey upon the weaknesses and emotions of another person, thereby inflicting even greater pain.
Racial File
Aspect of Death: While there may be many souls who failed to pass on due to experiencing a sense of resentment against another individual at the moment of death, the grudge Ráfaga bore against the townspeople who had murdered him was particularly intense. First, it was exasperated by the fact that he was betrayed by those he had considered to be his friends. Adding insult to injury was the manner in which he had died—wrapped in the fishing net that had been his form of subsistence in life. The cruel irony of the situation played into his victim complex and allowed him to develop a resentment so intense that it allowed him to retain his identity even throughout the various stages of evolution he experienced as a Hollow. With time, his bitterness continued to grow, even though he had ironically forgotten why he held such resentment in the first place.
Weapon: When not released, Ráfaga’s weapon takes the form of two straight-edged short swords, which resemble long tantou. They are stored in red saya, which are unusually kept blade-side up on each arm, secured in place by the hemp cords tied around his biceps.
Documented History
Origin: During his life as a human, Ráfaga was a fisherman in a small lakeside village in Japan. When he was around the age of a thirty a conflict in the village broke out between the local rice farmers and fishermen. The farmers wanted more land for their crops, and as such began constructing berms of clay and reeds along the edge of the lake, which disrupted the fish habitat that the fishermen relied on. Ráfaga initiated the retaliation against the farmers by destroying their berms, harassing their families, etc. The conflict grew more and more violent, and eventually the fishermen and farmers had had enough. They formed a treaty with each other behind Ráfaga’s back, as they knew he would not allow his grudge against the farmers to subside. In the end, Ráfaga became a martyr to his own cause and was killed by the townspeople, who wrapped him in his own barbed net and drowned him in the lake.
As a Plus, Ráfaga attempted to exact revenge on the townspeople by haunting them. His resentment chained him to the lake, and his soul eventually became a Jibakurei. As he slowly began to convert into a Hollow, his corrupted soul polluted the land, and eventually the villagers called for a shaman to deal with the problem. During the exorcism the shaman accidentally destroyed the remainder of Ráfaga’s chain of fate. Upon becoming a Hollow he promptly consumed the soul of the priest, whose reiatsu allowed Ráfaga to quickly increase his own spiritual power. Soon, feasting on the wandering human souls throughout the region no longer satisfied him, and he began to hunt fellow Hollows. Eventually he was drawn to Hueco Mundo, where he continued to eat other Hollows until transforming into a Menos.
In the crush of souls that formed Ráfaga’s Gillian form, the remnant entity of the shaman priest’s soul emerged to fight with Ráfaga for dominance of his Hollow soul. The inner, amorphous struggle caused Ráfaga to persist in the form of a Menos Grande for a much longer period than normal, during which his mask continued to change as it reflected either the soul of the fisherman or the shaman. At last, Ráfaga succeeded in dominating the mass of souls that formed the Gillian, although the resulting Adjuchas bore very little resemblance to its original soul. Ráfaga no longer remembered why he bore such resentment. The only thing he knew was that he had to exact vengeance for something, and ultimately came to the conclusion that fate itself had slighted him in someway. This resentment formed the impetus for his evolution as an Adjuchas, as it constantly pushed him to become stronger as he sought out a means to quench the insatiable desire for revenge. Eventually he reached a form which closely resembled that of a human’s, which perhaps indicated that he was close to becoming a Vasto Lorde when he became an Arrancar.
Call to Actions: Ráfaga did not intentionally become an Arrancar, as his mask was accidentally torn-off in a battle against a fellow Hollow. However, this event did not change his underlying goal, as he still seeks to discover the source of his resentment and to finally put an end to his eternal grudge. Suspecting that the Soul Society might be the ones against whom he bears his resentment, he has joined forces with the new Espada.
Stats, Skills, and Powers
First Release: "Ensnare, Anzuelo"
Effects: When released, Ráfaga’s weapon transforms into a system of metallic threads. Each thread has a fish hook attached at the end of it, allowing him to ensnare his opponents in a painful manner and lure them towards himself.
Description: As Ráfaga’s threads are apparently connected to his nervous system, he can manipulate the threads as extensions of his own body. Aside from controlling them with expert skill, he can change the properties of his threads, stretching them thin enough to be barely visible for example, or sharpening them into razor wire in order to suddenly and mercilessly cut through the body of an opponent. The threads are highly durable, with a tensile strength that allows them to block even the blade of a Shinigami’s Zanpakutou. Furthermore, the barbed fish hooks attached at the end of each wire allow him attach his wires to an opponent by burying his hooks in them. While attaching a fishing line to an opponent helps him to track their movements and read their intentions in battle, it is also the necessary first step for the main property of his power.
By embedding a fish hook in the flesh of an opponent, Ráfaga can begin to mentally influence them and lure them towards himself. While he is not capable of creating illusions, he is able to subtly influence his victim by “poisoning” them with his resentment. This leads the opponent to develop a grudge against Ráfaga, and they are eventually unable to resist attacking him. One hook is barely effective, although it may serve to suppress any desire the opponent might have of running away. The poison of resentment may also cloud their good judgement, causing them to make rash decisions and fall into a razor-wire trap. With more and more hooks the hypnotic effect becomes stronger until the bait is nearly irresistible.

Physical Specifications
Physical Description: Dresden appears to be in his late-twenties or early thirties, which is the point at which he stopped aging. He is fairly tall, standing slightly above average, and possesses what could be described as a swimmer’s build: broad shoulders, a tapered, flat torso, and long limbs. Even though his wiry frame at first seems unimpressive, the years spent honing his fighting abilities have provided him a somatic awareness and ingrained instinct which compensates for whatever physical deficiency he might have when facing a stronger opponent. A more adverse result of his significant experience are the numerous scars he has received in past battles, although many of these have faded over time. Dresden’s features include prominent cheekbones, a sharp jawline, elegant chin, and a refined nose bordering on the aquiline. In somewhat stark contrast to his northern-German heritage, he has dark brown hair which he keeps somewhat long and unkempt, although his complexion is characteristically light. However, his most striking feature is his complete heterochromia iridum. Originally, both of Dresden’s eyes were dark brown, but after undergoing the ritual that granted him immortality his left eye became pale blue.
Comporting himself with an air of severity that reflects his reserved nature, Dresden’s posture is so stiff that he was at one point described by another Quincy as a stiff himself. In keeping with this rigid nature, he prefers more formal clothing and is seldom seen without at least a suit jacket, as he finds the style nostalgic and comfortable. Nonetheless, he tries to remain as inconspicuous as possible and typically opts for average designs and dark colors. While he has a refined sense of taste and is usually well-dressed, time often slips by without his notice and he finds himself wearing clothes that are ten years out of date, or in outfits that seem too “old” for his age.
Spiritual Description: At first it would seem as though Dresden had an average amount of reiatsu. However, most of what can be felt from his presence is not his own spiritual pressure but rather residual amounts of reishi that he has absorbed during the use of his Quincy abilities. His reiatsu, like most Quincy, is light-blue and feels slightly cold when released.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Dresden has been around a while. As such, there isn’t much that shocks or impresses him. Wisened by experience, he is well-aware of his own limitations, and is thus far less likely to take unnecessary risks, whether they be physical or relational. He is also much more careful about the battles he picks, often choosing to remain uninvolved if there is no immediate strategic value to participating. For example, foreseeing the stagnation and senselessness of Freylief’s reign, he distanced himself from the Order and initially refused to join their ranks. However, his caution can become crippling at times, leading to an unwillingness to act unless the outcome is almost certain.
An analytic individual, Dresden’s thought process is nearly scientific as he does not easily make assumptions, instead testing what he has observed against what he knows to be true. His encompassing perspective also means he is patient, especially with complicated situations regarding fact While he is less patient when personal values conflict, it still takes a while for someone to get on his bad side or prompt him to react. In fact, his failure to react can often be misinterpreted as being cold towards others, especially when he fails to sympathize with someone else’s plight. However, Dresden has simply learned how to react to unforeseen circumstances and is thus less prone to lose his composure in such situations. He is also responsible, and can be trusted to keep secrets (although that was, to his shame, not always the case in the past).
That said, one of Dresden’s greatest flaws is his tendency to be too pragmatic, even in situations that perhaps demand a more nuanced approach. Having seen the depths of human-depravity firsthand, Dresden has largely lost faith in humanity and has become resigned, refusing to hope for a better outcome and be let down again. As such, when a problem needs to be solved, he will opt for the most practical and efficient option that ensures success, even if sacrifices have to be made in the process. In the past, this “ends justify the means” mentality allowed him to separate his morality from his methods and go to any length so long as it was in service of the greater cause. After the crises of conscience he suffered throughout WWII, Dresden saw the error of this manner of thinking. He is now wary of unquestioningly committing to a greater cause, no matter how noble it might seem, as he has come to understand the value of human life.
Despite this, he finds that he has a hard time establishing an emotional connection with others. Furthermore, his cynical remarks, which stem from his resignation, further the misconception that he is cold and uncaring towards others. In reality, he has an incredible inward capacity to care deeply for others, and his profound sense of morality at times drives him to make great personal sacrifices–so long as his steely pragmatism doesn’t interfere with his selflessness.
Racial File
Schrift: die Entfernung (German for “expulsion” or “excision”). Dresden’s obsession with purity perhaps began when he was a child, as he experienced his father’s disdain due to the question of his legitimacy. He sought to prove him wrong by training to achieve Letzter Stil and other powerful Quincy techniques, thereby demonstrating that his blood was pure. In the same vein, Dresden initially joined the Nazi Party to “cleanse” his country of its perceived evils. Thus, his Schrift, die Entfernung, was born.
Yet over the years, he has found that this excision has more to do with himself than any external element, as he has been forced to periodically cut himself away from everything he held dear and recreate from the ashes. As such, his Schrift relates to his desire to purify himself from the demons of pain and remorse. Fire is the medium for this purification, as it serves to “cleanse” whatever it touches: bringing about utter destruction in an attempt to sanctify.
Spirit Weapon: Dresden does not use a traditional spirit weapon, and may in fact be incapable of forming a reishi bow. Instead, he uses an actual, physical weapon in combat. The Luger P08 is a semi-automatic handgun that Dresden acquired during WWII and quickly became attached to. It was his weapon of choice after losing his Quincy powers and he has trained extensively in its use. With an eight round detachable box magazine, Dresden is proficient enough to where he can reload swiftly and easily within seconds. He also reloads some of his own cartridges, and instead of fitting a solid metal bullet to the end of the cartridge, he uses small Gintō capsules. With some ingenuity he has designed the bullets so that they do not collapse when fired, despite being hollow. When the bullet contacts a target, the forceful impact causes the capsule to rupture and the highly condensed reishi to explode. He uses these special cartridges when fighting against Hollows or Shinigami, as he finds the use of a reishi-based weapon is more damaging than a purely physical one against spiritual beings. Since the process of constructing these bullets is so time-intensive, Dresden only has a few clips of Gintō cartridges and as such only uses them as a last resort.
Documented History
Origin: Dresden was born as an “Echt” Quincy in Prussia to the Ravenskraft household in 1901, during the height of the German Empire. When he was seven his mother ran away with her lover, which was seen as scandalous and a blemish on the Ravenskraft’s reputation. His father’s suspicions of her fidelity caused to him to even question Dresden’s legitimacy, and as a result he and his father were never very close. Dresden later joined the German army during the final year of WWI against his father’s wishes. When he finally returned home, he was nearly disowned from the Ravenskraft and banished from the family estate. However, the conflict between him and his father was rendered moot when the latter was murdered by agents sent by the Quincy Council.
After his father’s death, Dresden was supported by Felix Seidel, a member of the Council who had taken an interest in helping Dresden to develop his powers as a Quincy. Later, Dresden moved to Berlin to study. Disgusted by the moral degeneracy he witnessed among his peers, he joined the Nazi Party in 1922. After writing to Felix, the latter proposed that he complete his studies abroad in Tokyo. However, Dresden’s real purpose in Japan was to spy on Japan’s “spiritual condition” for the Quincy affiliated with the Thule Society. After returning to Germany four years later, he joined Felix on an expedition to Iceland in search of an ancient Quincy elixir of eternal youth. But Felix had been intending to use Dresden as the initial sacrifice to test the ritual all along, thereby betraying his trust. The ritual was successful, but Felix died attempting to replicate the same process that had granted Dresden eternal youth.
Felix’s betrayal pushed Dresden away from the racial purism espoused by the Nazi party, although he still supported the national cause. Unsure of his purpose at the time, he returned to the city of his namesake and fell into a state of depression. About a year later he met Klara Klein, a schoolteacher and the director of the girl’s chapter of the Hitler Youth in the city of Dresden. A firm supporter of the Nazi cause, Dresden was attracted to the hope he saw in her, and gradually began to rediscover his own sense of purpose. He fell in love with Klara, despite knowing that she was not a Quincy, and the two were married. Two years later, their daughter Sophie was born, and for nearly five years afterwards Dresden lived a quiet, happy existence.
But there were signs of a storm brewing all around them. Dresden was becoming increasingly troubled over the way their Jewish neighbors were treated. He confided these concerns to Klara, asking what it would spell for their daughter, who could also be considered a mixed-race. The dissonance between justifying one and not the other started to become clear to him. Then, in 1937 Sophie died unexpectedly. To a normal human, it appeared as though she had drowned in the river, but Dresden recognized the signs of a Hollow attack and realized that Sophie had been killed by a Hollow, who had likely been attracted to her forming reiatsu. Dresden’s worldview was further fragmented in his grief, and he and Klara drifted apart. They divorced in 1938, with the reason being that they needed to set aside their personal relationship in order to fully focus on the national effort.
That same year, Dresden discovered a group of Quincy who formed part of the national Nazi resistance. While he secretly joined the resistance movement, he never officially became a supporter of the resistance’s cause. When WWII began in 1939, Dresden enlisted in the Wehrmacht. He was contacted by the supernatural division of the Ahnenerbe, and was promoted to officer after divulging the resistance Quincy group’s existence to the Ahnenerbe. Dresden later took part in the invasion of Russia in 1941, where he met Jakob Sauer, a Fullbringer who saved his life. Dresden’s beliefs were further called into question as he witnessed the blatant disregard for human life that seemed to be behind the order to push towards Moscow in the dead of winter. When Dresden returned from Russia, he attempted to re-join the resistance movement but discovered that the group he had been part of had completely disappeared. He was decorated for his efforts in Russia and promoted to lieutenant, even as he began to turn against the Nazi Party entirely.
Dresden later discovered that the Quincy who had been captured from the resistance group he had ratted out had been sent to a special laboratory for “supernatural experimentation.” None had survived. The man behind the order had been Heinz Öttinger, the leader of the special powers division of the Ahnenerbe and Dresden’s direct superior. Dresden vowed to take Öttinger down, and enlisted Jakob’s help to do so. However, his attempts to turn the division against Öttinger were unsuccessful, as Öttinger began to suspect that one of the special powers division would betray him.
Several uneasy months passed as both sides of the division tried to ensnare their suspected enemy, all while pretending to operate under normal conditions. But the infrastructure of Germany’s military was itself beginning to deteriorate as the war approached its end. Finally, driven by paranoia, Öttinger began to secretly kill off the remaining members of the special powers division. He finally realized that Dresden had been the leader behind the planned subversion, but by then the Soviet Union’s forces were beginning to close in around Berlin. Sacrificing escape, Öttinger decided to attack Dresden during the Battle of Berlin, and Dresden lost his Quincy powers by using Letzter Stil in order to defeat him.
Dresden was trapped behind the Soviet line after the end of the war, but somehow managed to escape from the Red Army. He lived in hiding for several years in East Germany until he was discovered by the secret police. Unable to flee to West Germany, he was driven into Siberia, where his powers as a Quincy slowly began to re-emerge under the harsh conditions, particularly Blut Vene. Nonetheless, he was ultimately unable to manifest a spirit weapon. After the fall of the Berlin wall, Dresden returned to Germany to seek out Jakob and Klara. He lived for two decades afterwards, using false identities and changing locations frequently to avoid raising suspicion about his identity.
Call to Action: Dresden remained uninvolved in Quincy affairs for a long time after the end of the war. He had lost hope in humanity, and had no desire to regain his powers because he had nothing and no one to protect. Finally, the Order contacted him in 2018, but he refused to join on principle. However, five years later, he heard rumors of the plague that wiped out more than half of the Shinigami. Fearing that the remaining Quincy would stage an attack on the Soul Society and be eradicated in the process, Dresden finally decided that he would join the Order in an attempt to provide them with the voice of reason—the voice of someone who had failed after attempting to challenge a system.
Stats, Skills, and Powers
First Release: "die Entfernung"
Effects: Dresden’s Schrift allows him the ability to generate and manipulate blue fire, which he mainly uses to cleanse or purify as opposed to burn.
Description: In the heat of battle, there is an eerie roar, almost like echo of a hundred howling spirits, and the field is set ablaze, drowned in a sea of blue flames. Hollows and those deemed “impure” instantly disintegrate, while allies will find themselves cleansed, with their wounds purged from their bodies. In the midst of the blue flames, Dresden stands, impervious to the screams of the corrupt as they are expunged from his holy realm. That is die Entfernung.
Unlike normal fire or a Quincy’s Heilig Feuer, the condensed heat of this die Entfernung is so intense that it feels cold to the touch and cannot be extinguished by normal means, such as dousing it with water or smothering. However, Dresden is currently severely inhibited in its use due to the loss of his powers following his release of Letzter Stil. Nevertheless, Dresden has recovered a basic ability to generate small, sputtering flames, although these don’t serve much of a purpose beyond isolating and eliminating very specific effects, such as poison, from his own body or that of another’s. He can also condense these flames into knife-like constructs around his fingertips, which serve as bladed weapons to “cut” through obstructions or opponents should the need arise. In the past, Dresden’s ability was far more precise and powerful, as he used the flames of die Entfernung to isolate and excise impure elements. These elements mainly consisted of Hollow and Hollow reiryoku, although for beings with higher levels of reiatsu, the flames would merely attach themselves to their body and continuously cut into them, although they did not immediately destroy them. The resulting injury was not unlike receiving burns from frostbite. Eventually, the flames would serve to destabilize the bonds of reishi that held a corrupt element together, and once weakened, it took very little effort to expunge said element entirely.

App:
Russian Quincy, “The Ghost Sniper”
Personnel File
Age / Apparent Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height & Weight: 173 cm (5’7), 61 kg (135 lbs)
Hair & Eye Color: Dark brown, umber
Positive Traits: Independent, precise, perceptive, relaxed
Negative Traits: Psychopathic, pretentious, dishonest, ruthless
Physical Specifications
Physical Description: In general, Zora’s appearance could be described as “ethnically ambiguous,” as she inherited some of the soft features of her mother’s Chinese ancestry as well as the Middle Eastern and Caucasus elements passed down from her father. As such, it is likely that she most closely resembles someone of West Asian descent. She is tall, with slender limbs and a flat torso. Her shoulders are slightly wider than her hips, and she does not have much definition to her bust. Her nose is defined, with a hard bridge but proportional to her face, and she has a round, smooth forehead, high cheekbones, and a thin mouth that forms a slight V. She has dark, almond-shaped eyes that are dark but not quite black, and her delicately-arched eyebrows rarely convey much emotion. Finally, her complexion, while fair, has olive undertones, and she is careful to not expose herself to too much sun as she wishes to keep her skin tone light to appear more “Russian.” Her makeup seems in contradiction to this, however, as she chooses mascara that emphasizes the darkness of her eyes, and does not try to add any color to her somewhat pale lips.
Zora keeps her straight, nearly umber-hued brown hair almost down to her knees, and usually has it loose. Her style of dress is eclectic and can vary depending on the occasion, but typically includes combat boots, a canvas vest, and a midriff-revealing shirt. While she most often chooses neutral colors, such as greens and tans, she will also be seen wearing T-shirts with controversial or offensive themes and logos, such as profanity or the Taliban symbol. That said, Zora carries herself with a casual form of confidence, and can often be seen leaning against walls and doorframes, as though she couldn’t be bothered to stand up properly. Her use of denim and fingerless gloves, as well as her manner of bearing, conveys the sense that she is a rebel or even a delinquent, although this could merely be another expression of her pretentious tendencies. She is, after all, still a teenager.
Spiritual Description: When released, Zora’s reiatsu takes on a violet hue, which seems to indicate the tainted nature of the light blue spiritual pressure of a Quincy mixed with the ultraviolet wavelength of the invisible light spectrum. Her spiritual pressure is not immediately perceptible, but it does feel “dangerous,” cold or even cruel, and unrefined. As such, it is rather impersonal, as one does not gain a sense of her emotions or state of mind. It is more like the sensation of confronting a natural predator or a dangerous force of nature. Unfortunately, this raw sense of killing intent can at times alert her target that they are being watched, as they will sense the dangerous nature of her reiatsu and become wary and alert.
Psychological Profile
Personality: Zora is an extremely independent young woman. However, this does not mean she rebels against any authority at the drop of a hat—although she can be rebellious; it simply means that she works best on her own, undistracted and unburdened by the thoughts and emotions of others. She rarely asks others for advice, is confident in her level of skill, and is able to quickly make decisions on her own. For this reason, she purposefully distances herself from others, as she is either incapable or unwilling to empathize with them. This may actually relate to her psychopathic tendencies, as it is extremely difficult for Zora to identify with and understand the feelings of others. While she has not been officially diagnosed with an antisocial personality disorder, she has a very limited concept of what constitutes right and wrong, and her lack of conscience means she is generally cold and uncaring towards others, as well as dishonest. For example, she is easily able to imitate emotional responses, and can pretend to be interested in others when in reality she is completely disengaged from the conversation at hand. She can even convincingly feign romantic attachment, which actually helped her to survive in the past.
Her complete disinterest in the emotions of others is both an advantage and a disadvantage as a contract killer. It allows her to be completely ruthless during a hit, as she will not hesitate to pull the trigger once she has locked on target. However, it also makes it more difficult for her to understand her target or to predict what their next course of action will be. As such, while she is an extremely perceptive individual, constantly gauging her surroundings and particularly aware of details, she can miss important aspects that relate to the emotional inclinations of her victims, and is notably lacking in skill when it comes to making judgments about the future. Otherwise, Zora is extremely precise, with a “measure twice, cut once” mentality. She is also clever and patient, taking the necessary steps to ensure the success of her assignment. Even if those steps take time, she is willing to bide that time and wait for the opportune moment to strike.
While Zora is not necessarily arrogant, as she does not over-estimate her own abilities, she “talks big” and makes it seem as though she is more powerful than she really is. This self-inflation may be an attempt to mask her personal weaknesses, but because of her inability to correctly gauge the emotional effect of her actions on others, she does not realize that it merely comes across as sounding pretentious. Nonetheless, Zora is very rarely shaken by the actions or words of others, as she is generally a relaxed, adaptable, and easy-going individual. One exception is sexual harassment, as Zora will respond to uncouth comments about her body or femininity with cold, robotic violence, such as throwing chairs or attempting to shoot the one who breached the apparently sensitive topic. Otherwise, Zora does not lose her composure in stressful situations, although she will typically drop whatever emotional façade she has been maintaining up to that point as she fully commits to dealing with the situation at hand. While most normal individuals would experience a quickening of the pulse or rapid breathing while under duress, Zora has the opposite reaction, becoming notably calm and focused even—or especially—when witnessing violence and bloodshed.
Racial File
Schrift: S-the Specter. Zora chose the name of her Schrift after she was dubbed the “Ghost Sniper” for her unusual mode of operation during hits. Her power allows her to phase through physical objects, although at present this ability is limited to the Heilig Pfiel she fires from her spirit weapon. By using her Schrift, Zora can bypass any physical or spiritual obstruction that stands between her and a target, meaning that she can shoot through walls, for example, without leaving a trace of the bullet, which is a highly useful skill for a sniper. This means that she also has a heightened sense of spatial perception, as she is able to perceive the distance, dimension, and volume or mass of a targeted object, allowing her to scope out objects that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye. In reality, the Specter seems to be a form of spatial manipulation that allows her to bypass the physical dimension, although since she does not yet understand the nature of her power, she is limited to a basic application of her Schrift.
Spirit Weapon: Zora’s weapon is unique in that it combines both physical and spiritual elements. The base of the weapon is a customized Dragunov high-powered semi-automatic rifle with a folding stock, also known as an SVDS. The spiritual component manifests itself as a violet, translucent web of reishi that traces over the scope and barrel of the gun, forming a construct that resembles the feed lines and antenna of a satellite dish, as though amplifying her shots. When preparing to fire, the reishi lines begin to pulse with a concentrated light that is in-sync with the rhythm of her own heartbeat. There is also a faint, nearly-static feedback, which sounds like the hum of a Seele Schneider. The effective firing range of an SVDS is normally close to a thousand meters, but when combined with her spiritual powers she can increase the distance of her shots to nearly four kilometers.
However, since it is obviously impractical for her to carry her sniper rifle with her wherever she goes, when not using her signature weapon she will simply extend her palm towards whatever she is aiming at and manifest a smaller version of the reishi construct around her arm—a finger gun of sorts. She can fire concentrated, short, Heilig Pfiel in this way, although these projectiles are significantly weaker than when using her full spirit weapon.
Documented History
Origin: Zora’s parents met under highly unusual circumstances during the Chechen Conflict. Her mother was a Russian journalist and political activist of Chinese descent, and her father was a Chechen separatist, as well as a former Sunni Muslim and Kadyrovtsy soldier. Zora’s mother was in Chechnya to report on the human rights violations occurring in the region during the war, and through an escalating series of events eventually found herself negotiating for the release of several Chechen soldiers who had been taken captive by the Russian Army, even though she was against the separatist’s cause and tactics. Zora’s father was one of these soldiers, and later ended up switching sides to work as an informant and translator for the Russians. He was also the only one to thank Zora’s mother for securing his freedom, and he later became one of her main sources of information on the ongoing conflict in Chechen. Their relationship gradually became something more than strictly professional, and she was devastated when she heard the news that he had been severely wounded while attempting to rescue children from a school building that had been bombed by Chechen terrorists. When he was discharged from service, they moved to Krasnodar so she could continue reporting on the conflict while he recovered from his injuries.
Zora was born about a year later. She soon became the object of her father’s devotion, while her mother was more focused on her professional career and spent less time with her daughter. Unfortunately, the cards were stacked against her father. The explosion had left him scarred, crippled, and deaf in one ear, while the repercussions of his crisis of faith, which had caused him to abandon his religion and political alignment, only exacerbated his PTSD. He frequently fell into bouts of depression and drinking. Nonetheless, he tried to do his best for his daughter and doted upon her, and was able to put aside his self-destructive tendencies for her sake. As such, Zora has only positive memories of her father.
As a young girl, Zora suffered from the “nightmares” she had of skull-masked monsters that she sometimes saw roaming the streets. Her father realized that these were actually the same spirits he saw, as he was also spiritually aware. He decided to teach her everything he knew as a Quincy—which wasn’t much, mainly just how to “sense things,” draw in reishi to empower herself physically, and hide her reiatsu to remain undetected from the Hollows. He also enrolled her in a martial arts school where she learned Sambo and later Systema. At the school, Zora was completely surrounded by adult men, as she was not surprisingly the only child student and also the only girl. But she never felt uncomfortable, as her father was always there to watch her. She wanted to impress him, and dedicated herself to her training, thereby improving rapidly. Zora actually proved herself to be a prodigy at fighting, and was soon capable of taking down opponents twice her size. Her mother didn’t approve of her training, not because she thought it was unseemly for a girl to fight (her mother was a staunch feminist), but because she was unsure of her father’s intentions and worried that martial arts were contributing to the ruthless, competitive nature she saw developing in her daughter. But it went much further than Zora’s mother had realized, as her father had also taught her how to use firearms during the hunting trips when she would accompany him up north, although they never really did much hunting—mainly just practicing. Too young to technically operate a gun legally, Zora nonetheless had a steady hand and perfect aim.
Soon, Zora began experimenting with the spiritual energy she had learned to absorb from the atmosphere, and was finally able to manifest an imperfect spirit weapon. Unbeknownst to her, her growing powers had demonstrated to her father that she would be able to protect herself without him. In reality, Zora's father had become involved with the Chechen mafia, as his past as a separatist had caught up to him. In an attempt to protect his family from becoming involved, especially because of the nature of his wife's work, he decided it would be better for him to leave. While her mother understood, Zora was only ten at the time, it seemed to her as though he had completely abandoned them for no reason. She never truly got over it, and eventually came to blame her mother.
In an attempt to make a fresh start, Zora’s mother moved them to Moscow. There the rift in their relationship deepened, and Zora became highly independent. She continued with her martial arts training, started hunting Hollows, and picked street fights with teenage delinquents in order to test out the new spiritual skills she was developing against more human opponents. Eventually, she drew the notice of some of the other Quincy living in Moscow—Quincy who happened to be associated with one of the Russian mafia.
One day, a representative from the Chechen mafia approached Zora and told her that they had known her father, as “Chechen blood ran deep.” He told her that the Quincy had been watching her, and asked if she would like for them to "help her along." Sensing that she didn’t have much choice in the matter, Zora agreed to join them. Little by little, the Chechen Quincy groomed her for an assassin's job. In fact, the Chechen Quincy had taken an interest in her because first, there weren't many of them, and secondly they wanted to gather their numbers in case they ran afoul of the Order, as they were by no means supporters of the Quincy organization—nor were they well-liked by the Order. They were confident that they could ensure Zora's loyalty by supplying her with ammunition and protection from the authorities, and if that failed they would use her mother as leverage, and so decided to take the risks in training a kid–albeit a spiritually-aware kid with supernatural accuracy who would be worth the risk to the organization to train. They started by giving her a handgun, then by allowing her to use one of their practice ranges. Finally, she was handed a rifle and given her first assignment. Zora did not hesitate when it came time to pull the trigger. She proved to be an excellent marksman and an even better killer, all while maintaining the façade of a normal high school student. Her occasional hits were flawless and of professional quality, as she had developed the ability to phase through the physical body of a target to only effect the soul, and the forensic detectives were baffled as to how a bullet could end up inside someone’s brain without that someone having been actually shot. Soon the Solntsevskaya Bratva began to fear her, and she became known as the “Ghost Sniper” for the fact that her victims were left without a mark.
But as she grew older, Zora began to wise up and began to realize the value of her skills. She began taking jobs for other interested parties to earn money on the side—powerful politicians who wanted rivals removed, and even rival gangs such as the Solntsevskaya Bratva. While she was careful and played her cards well, the Chechen mafia eventually found out and decided to “teach her a lesson” by taking out her only blood relative. On her seventeenth birthday, Zora returned home and found that her mother had been shot in their apartment. The authorities closed the case quickly, suspecting the murder to have been political in nature due to her mother’s recently outspoken criticisms of the government, but to Zora the calling card was obvious. While she had not been particularly close with her mother, the senselessness of her death and the fact that she had been uninvolved and unaware of her daughter’s activities angered Zora. However, she knew that whatever immunity she had been granted within the gang was at that point moot, and also knew that if she hoped to learn anything more about her father from the gang in the future she would have to leave those she suspected to be behind her mother’s death alive.
Taking advantage of the freedom she had from any parental authority, and hoping to escape the reach of the Chechen mafia, Zora left Moscow. Traveling south, she met a Turkish Quincy who agreed to train her, and spent a year in the deserts of Kazakhstan where she slowly began to realize her powers. She also came to terms with her mother’s death and who she had become within the last five years. The loss of her mother made her father’s absence feel even more poignant, and she at last renewed her resolve to find him, even if it meant she would carve a path of blood in the process.
Call to Action: On the behest of her Quincy instructor, who suggested that the Order might know something about the whereabouts of her father, Zora decided to reach out to the Quincy organization and offer her skills in exchange for information, and so at the end of her training, she travelled to Berlin.

SAKUMA, TAKASHI
Author's Note:
Takashi is my wandering rounin/honor-bound samurai trope character. He’s meant to be an “everyman,” someone who is modest in his bearing and humble enough to recognize his own weaknesses. To be honest, I don’t know if I see him ever achieving Bankai, since he’s just that down to earth. Like most my characters, he does have some edge in him still, but his “tragic backstory” serves a purpose—his guilt and fear are holding him back as a Shinigami, and until he learns to overcome that he won’t be able to unlock his full potential. That’s also why his Zanpakutou is so wonky atm. Yes I know the concept is shit. It’s not meant to be his real Shikai, but a sort of temporary release that compensates for him constantly suppressing the spirit of his Zanpakutou, or something. He’ll have to come to terms with that, of course, and maybe another PC could help him reach Shikai.
As far as the effect he’ll have on other characters, Takashi is (hopefully) fairly relatable, and so maybe he can fulfill the roll of someone to talk to and commiserate with, especially in the wake of the plague. More importantly, his heart for the common souls of the Rukongai extends to the common souls of the Human World as well: perhaps he might serve as the voice of morality amidst the pragmatism typical to the Gotei (or at least typical to his division). After talking with Vic, I also realized that my image of the Second being the “shady assassins” division might be slightly off, as it was combined with the Sixth so it also serves as the police force. That said, the Second both ideal and a source of torment for Takashi as his morals clash drastically with some of their methods, providing inner conflict, but also a perfect fit because of the “justice” side of things. Takashi just has to find that balance, which will partly come only after he has achieved peace with himself.
(This guy was on the previous version of BG. I had about six threads with him, but they were mostly inconsequential to his arc, and only one of those threads was ever truly completed. I never used the claimed GP, and never reached a milestone. As such, he’s pretty much still unused as a character, and I would like the chance to story with him this time around as well.)

GUSQUIZA, RÁFAGA
Author's Note:
This is my “for fun” character. That’s all I’ll really say about that. His resentment provides him a strong reason to ally with the Espada who are attempting to fill the wake left by Tova. Since Ráfaga has been unable to find the source of his nearly all-consuming grudge, he naturally suspects that the Shinigami–a race he hasn’t had a lot of contact with–might be the source of his resentment. As such, he is more than willing to join up in order to fight them, hoping that might sate his need for vengeance. Otherwise he’s rather amicable and isn’t distracted by the petty squabbles for power of his fellow Arrancar, although at the same time it just be that he couldn’t give a flying fuck about his fellow Arrancar. Either way, he’s not as unapproachable as he looks.
App:
Arrancar
Personnel File
Age / Apparent Age: Unknown/26
Gender: Male
Height & Weight: 200 cm (6’7), 95 kg (210 lbs)
Hair & Eye Color: Dark brown, crimson

RAVENSKRAFT, DRESDEN
Author's Note:
Do it for the memes they said. So I did. Instead of trying to tone it down, I just went for it and made him a full-blown Nazi. A proud, Jew-hating, Fuckin’ Immortal Quincy Nazi. Yeah.
Straight-talk though, I know that Dresden is my hardest character to sell. While he was on the previous version of BG, he never really got very far. It was mainly me fucking around trying to be edgy and have him join/not join the Order. Anyway, since then I have taken some advice for this character. I have trimmed out 200 years of his bloated history, leaving “only” a hundred and twenty to deal with. When I RP’d him before, he was serious as all hell and seemed like he always had a stick up his ass, so for this version, I’m going to try to give him a (cynical) sense of humor and overall just make him more relaxed/patient and human. He’s not really meant to be some supersoldier spy Tom Cruise guy: He’s meant to be a devoted soldier who got caught in the wrong circumstances and realized the error of ways a little too late—someone who has, indeed, lived beyond his expiration date.
(As a side note, I didn’t explain the method really for how he became immortal in his backstory, but if I should give more detail/specifics there, please let me know and I’ll add it back in).
Many people dislike his concept, but the reason why I wanted him to be immortal (as in eternal youth immortal, not invincible immortal) is not only because the idea of someone who once held to such a strong ideology (Nazism) and later had his eyes opened (not-Nazism, he really isn’t a Nazi guys) is interesting to me, but also because Dresden is truly a fragment of the past who has lost his place in the world—which to me is also an interesting concept. The reason why he decides to help the Quincy now is because, while he might be overly-cautious and too pragmatic, if he’s learned one thing throughout his long life it’s that human life is to be valued. As such, he can’t sit back idly and allow the Quincy to dance towards their own destruction again like what nearly happened with Freyleiff. While he wasn’t involved in that fiasco, he tried to get involved but again, it was too late.
He’s tired of being too late.
As he sees the potential for hope in this new wave of Quincy, he has at last decided to offer his help. He’s been training on his own for five years specifically for this reason, although he has admittedly not met with much success. At any rate, he has been shying away from “greater causes” for the larger part of 80 years, and maybe it’s finally time to move past that fear and dedicate himself to something greater than himself again. He owes it to himself and to the ghosts of his past.
For his in-story role, I was hoping to have him sort of fulfill a world-weary mentor role. Dresden has been a Quincy for a long time, and his advice might come in handy to the Order. I’m not saying this makes him stronger as a character or anything, but since many of the old Quincy like Rick likely won’t be around/active, Dresden could be someone to pick up that mantle. Maybe train some n00bs, idk. FURTHERMORE, his Schrift allows him to burn away impurities, which would be especially useful if a PC had something plaguing them that they wished to be rid of. Of course, he isn’t capable of that level of precision yet, since he’s still powerless thanks to Letzter Stil. Someone would have to help him first before he could help them, in other words, so it’s more mutual.
Anyway, I’ve explained most of this on chat before I think, so now it’s all in one place, good or bad.

Height & Weight: 181 cm (5’11), 173 kg (160 lbs)
Hair & Eye Color: Dark, almost-black hair, complete heterochromia iridum: pale blue (left eye), brown (right eye)
Positive Traits: Principled, selfless, patient, responsible
Negative Traits: Resigned, pragmatic, cynical, overly-cautious

KUROKOV, ZORA
Author's Note:
Zora is also another character I tried to throw together for fun. I was a bit disheartened when I saw that there is another female Russian Quincy around (Petra), but whatever. It was not my intention to copy anyone, so my apologies in advance. I made her because I wanted to make a younger character, I wanted to make a female character, and I wanted to make a sniper. Zora is all of those things. She is also a bit outside my comfort zone, so hopefully writing her will stretch me as a writer a bit.
For her in-story role… I’m not really sure yet. Her abilities don’t really lend themselves well to PvP combat threads, but it would be interesting if she could serve as a support-type character, who kind of scopes out the situation from a distance like a sniper is supposed to do (Debo suggested this). Maybe she could be a trump card or something. Personality-wise, she’s got a lot of growing to do still even though she’s a full-fledged woman perfectly capable of handling herself. For one thing she lacks empathy, which is actually a weakness for her as an assassin. Perhaps she could discover some understanding throughout the course of the story. It would make her better as a person, at the least. She’ll also have to learn how to tone down her assassin-ness for the Order, since they probably don’t need too many hits carried out on a regular basis. As for what she could offer other characters, I’m not too sure at this point.
