The night sky was cold and lifeless, the only light emanating from the small specks of starlight and the oversized moon that constantly hovered over the sands. The beast that walked under it was even darker, a pit of blackness so dark that he seemed to emanate shadow as a light bulb emanates light. It shuffled along through the sand, over dune after dune, until it reached the white gate. The amorphous blob looked up at the gates, and was about to continue when the sand before him erupted and a huge sand based hollow grew from its depths.
Runuganga, the sand hollow, stretched his arms and looked down at the small blob of darkness. “What do you think you’re doing, you little speck? This is Las Noches, and only arrancar may enter.†He then lowered his head from its place way up in the sky and brought it level with the thing. “Understand?â€
A blast of flame, a burst of heat, and suddenly the hollow was no longer sand, but glass. The blob rolled slowly around him and continued towards the gate, squeezing easily through the small crack between the doors.

Arekussu woke slowly from his odd dream, his mind still wandering through his subconscious as the arrancar pulled him out for bed and told him to get ready for battle. His eyes fluttered around, drooping low with exhaustion. In all actuality, Arekussu did not sleep, he simply meditated, but in all essences it was the same thing. He slowly stood, ignoring the arrancar’s pleas for him to hurry, and walked over to the coffee machine. He poured himself a cup and mixed in the cream and sugar, not budging as the arrancar began to yell. He drank the coffee all in one go and then grabbed his shin guards and gauntlets. “What is going on?†he asked, his voice filled with exhaustion.
“There is some weird beast who has infiltrated the gates! The primera is fighting him now!†said the arrancar, his voice barely registering in Arekussu’s ears.
Arekussu sighed and walked out the door and towards the gates. Why was it that he could never have a day of peace. Always missions, always attacks. What he would do for a day of reprieve. Now, about this beast. It was obviously a hollow, because what else lived in the sands, and it was also powerful, as the primera himself was going to fight him. But if the primera was going, then what was the point of Arekussu showing up? Anything that could kill the primera would easily destroy Arekussu. He sighed as he walked out of his building and saw the beast.
It was a large amorphous black blob, generally round and about 12 feet tall. It had no facial features to speak of and no limbs, and yet the ground was littered with bodies from countless arrancar who had tried to stop it. Arekussu looked around and saw the primera running towards the beast, his white cloak flowing behind him and his large zanpacto glinting in the artificial sunlight of Las Noches. He jumped into the air and yelled, swinging the sword down with enough force to make a crack in the ground the size of a train. Unfortunately, it seems the primera did not know what he was dealing with. A tentacle of goo shot from the blob and simply grabbed the sword, ripping it from the hands of the primera.
The primera stood back and brushed the hair out of his face. “You’re a feisty one aren’t yah! Well come on segunda, we don’t have all day. Let’s kill this thing!†he dropped low and growled as his fingernails grew, his eyes stretched to the side of his head and fangs grew from his mouth. His reitsu almost doubled when he yelled, “Dragon style!†and charged at the beast, arms swinging.
Arekussu Placed his headphones over his head with a sigh and picked a nice slow song. He then started a slow attack routine, his hands and feet slamming into the blob, doing minimal damage to the thing which seemed to have no body to actually damage. It just kept taking the hits and rolled on. Arekussu began to get a little bit pissed at the obvious ignorance of his attacks, and started to attack harder, coating his fists in reitsu while doing so. This incited a response from the thing, forcing it to grab Arekussu and throw him against the nearest wall. And from the looks of the large crater on the wall opposite him the Primera was not doing well either.
Are got up and dusted himself off in time to see the primera rush right back in, his hands blazing with reitsu and his eyes wide. “DIE YOU FILTHY BEAST!†he yelled, swinging his arm and creating a wave of energy. The wave hit the beast and evaporated part of its body. So heat is what killed it eh? Thought Arekussu, trying to think of a way to create heat with his limited power access. Pure reitsu wasn’t strong enough, and his attacks didn’t create enough friction to actually create heat that way...
While he was contemplating the Primera was getting thrashed by the beast, each hit to the beast being paid back twice as strong to the primera. Arekussu jumped into the fray just in time to be hit by the primera’s flying body as the beast threw him away. The force of the throw pushed both eh Primera and Arekussu into a nearby wall and right through to the other side of the building.
Coughing and holding in his side, which was now bleeding profusely, Arekussu got up and looked around, trying to find the Primera. When he did, Arekussu shuddered and pulled the debris from on top of him. Poking right through his chest was an I beam, right through to his back. Arekussu began to try and take the I beam out but he stopped when the primera coughed and said, “You idiot, I’m dead. Now come here, I have something to give you.â€
Arekussu looked at the primera and moved closer so he could hear him. He was smiling slightly and blocking out the pain as best he could, Arekussu could tell from the twitches that ran though his eyebrows and jaw. “You know, I never wanted you to be the primera. You are way to soft. Always letting things get away that need killing. But I don’t have much choice now, do I?†he then reached forward and poked Arekussu in the chest. And Arekussu spasmed as he felt the tattoo on the back of his neck changing from a two to a one. “Go get her primera,†said the dying arrancar, “And try and get in a few hits for me eh?â€
Arekussu closed his now lifeless eyes and stood up. He looked down at his hands and said, “Help me out Uindu.†A blast of white, a burst of reitsu, and suddenly Arekussu was covered head to toe with a full suit of white armor, only his eyes showing through two slits on the mask. He pushed with his thoughts, and the music started playing through the speakers on the suit. The drums and guitar were soft at first as he walked out from the rubble of the building and looked at the beast. The music began to build as Arekussu got into a low stance, preparing to blast off.
“READY!â€
Arekussu burst into movement while he screamed, the music blasting now with distorted guitar and heavy drums. His muscles bulged underneath the armor and his reitsu spiked as his fists burst into maroon coloured flame. He disappeared into nothingness for a moment using a sonido.
“DARKNESS COVER ME!â€
Appearing instantly above the thing, his hands and feet began to carve into its goopy exterior, small pieces being detached with every hit. A disembodied scream erupted from its mouth and Arekussu was forced to sonido away as the tentacles began to chase him, trying to catch him. Luckily, he was way too fast for them.
“I'm not ready to die, girl,
Because of what you don't tell me!â€
He continued to sonido around the battlefield, the tentacles smashing though the many walls that he would stop on shortly to start another sonido. Finally, he stopped just as the tentacle was flying right towards him. He kicked off the ground and flipped, the tentacle missing his face by inches.
“I'm not ready to walk inside of where you're taking me.â€
At the arc of the flip, he turned his body so that he landed feet first on top of the tentacle, He then grabbed the end and ripped it right off the rest, finding that inside the tentacle was a small solid portion that seemed to be controlling it. The monster screamed when it was torn, and Arekussu sonidoed away again as another tentacle came flying towards him.
“I'm not ready to die, girl,
Because of what you don't tell me.
I'm not willing to compromise the man I want to be.â€
Arekussu appeared again above the beast and punched into it as hard as he could, digging his hand through the outer layer of goo. He finally felt something hard, but was forced to roll to the side as one of the tentacles attempted to pierce his back.
“Think you're a little bit closer,
To changing me.â€
He continued to dig and grabbed a hold of the first solid thing he could find. He then pulled with all his strength, and tore some of the rough fabric out of the glop. From the screams of the beast, Arekussu could tell he had done some damage. Now where is your mask...
†You're never winning me over,
You're wasting time.â€
Arekussu jumped off the thing’s back just as another of the tentacles attempted to kill him. He began to hit the thing with his reitsu covered hands again, disintegrated the goo hit by hit. Although the goo would reform quickly, he was beginning to understand the basic shape of the beast. It was a low to the ground hollow with six arms, but from what Arekussu could see it did not have a head.
“Think you're a little bit closer,
To changing me.â€
Arekussu was sure he had looked at the whole body and had seen no head. He then had a thought. With a quick jump, he landed on the ground beside the hollow. He lifted his hands up and started to charge a maroon colours cero in his palms.
“Your never winning me over,
You’re wasting time! Girl.â€
The cero blasted from his hands and dug right under the beast, leaving its entire bottom uncovered by the goo. Arekussu smiled as he saw a flash of white from under the beast, obviously the mask. Before the good could regenerate, he slid into the hole he had made before.
“You’re wasting time! Girl!â€
He bit his thumb quickly and charged another cero, this one now pure black, a Grande Ray cero. With a yell, he let the blast off, right into the monsters face, just before the goo could cover him.
“GET AWAY FROM ME!â€
The thing exploded in front of him, the good spraying all over the surrounding hollows and buildings, and the beast slowly disintegrating on top of Arekussu. With a sigh, Are stood up and wiped the good of his shirt, which was now spotted black instead of white. Then, as the cloth disintegrated from the black good, Are’s eyes widened and he pulled off all his clothes so as not to be burnt by the acidic goop. When it was all off, he looked up and realised he was now standing naked in front of an entire procession of hollows, all now under his command. He grinned lightly and then disappeared with a bang of a sonido.
